Chris Pratt Takes Over EW, GQ, Our Dreams

chris pratt EW

-Remember last year’s Summer Must List issue of EW, which featured Jessica Alba climbing out of a pool? This year we get Chris Pratt. #upgrade

-EW also posted an Instagram video of Pratt getting wet ‘n wild.

Pratt also covers the new issue of GQ, in which he talks about getting in trouble at NBC for always showing his junk.

-It’s a great day for hot dudes on magazine covers. Harry Potter’s Matthew Lewis (Neville Longbottom) just posed for Attitude in his underwear and now the entire internet needs therapy.

J.K. Rowling was especially scandalized.

Lewis also posted a photo with Game of Thrones’ star Emilia Clarke, who he’s costarring with in the adaptation of Jojo Moyes’s novel Me Before You, which I *hated*. But now I might have to reconsider this movie…

Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield were photographed holding hands again, restoring the universe’s faith in love.

-The weirdest thing about the Mad Men finale is that there was debate afterwards about whether or not Don created the Coke ad. Matthew Weiner has definitively answered that.

Vin Diesel keeps posting karaoke tributes to Paul Walker and they are getting increasingly weird. The latest is Tove Lo’s “Habits” (which I love) but hearing him try to inject emotion into the “I pick up daddies at the playground” line is unintentionally hilarious.

-Did you watch David Letterman‘s final show last night? It was very low key, which was perfectly him. Here’s video of his signoff and the Foo Fighters’ performance.

Bill Murray had a very, very good time after showing up on Letterman’s last show.

-I don’t even watch Supernatural (except for the occasional time that my sister-in-law tells me Felicia Day will be on it), but the fact that the entire cast joined in on this parody recap video set to “Shake It Off” is awesome.

-The Supergirl trailer has garnered more than 10 million views in just a week. Don’t screw this up, CBS!

Rebel Wilson is 35, not 29 like she’s been claiming in interviews. How did she even expect to get away with that? Who does she think she is, Catherine Zeta Jones?

-Speaking of ageism in Hollywood, Maggie Gyllenhaal revealed that she lost out on a role because at 37, she was deemed “too old” to play the love interest of a 55-year-old man.

-Now we know why Mindy Kaling has been talking so much about her relationship with BJ Novak lately: they’re writing a book about it.

-Meanwhile, I spent the first half of this Cannes video of Kaling with her Inside Out costars thinking Amy Poehler was Megan Mullally. True story.

-Uh oh. There are more rumours of Johnny Depp abandoning filming of the latest Pirates movie.

Taylor Swift‘s “not sexy” Maxim cover has horrified male readers. Horrified!

Batkid is going to give you feelings again with this new trailer. No, YOU’RE crying!

Gwyneth Paltrow Tries to Convince Us She’s Super Laid-Back — With Her Abs

gwyneth-paltrow-abs

-In her new Women’s Health cover story, Gwyneth Paltrow insists she’s a cool, down-to-earth chick who isn’t as high maintenance as we’ve been led to believe. On her beauty routine, she laughs, “I’m not like, ‘Then I use this masque that I make on my stove.'” On parenting, she insists, “I don’t believe in saying, ‘You’re not allowed that.’ If my kids want a Shirley Temple with the radioactive cherry in it, go for it, you know?” Ahh, why’d she have to say “radioactive.” She sounded *thisclose* to being normal!

-I never thought I’d agree with an article titled “It’s Time for Katherine Heigl to Return to Grey’s Anatomy,” but this makes a lot of sense.

-Ugh, these behind-the-scenes details about the inappropriate behaviour of Mad Men actor Paul Johansson during a Buzzfeed interview are super cringey. Dude needs to simmer down and remember he’ll always be known as the guy who’s heart was eaten by a dog.

-Whew! Supernatural’s Jared Padalecki seems to be fine after sending a series of distressing tweets.

-On today’s Ellen, Melissa McCarthy further expanded on her verbal bitchslap of a reporter who criticized her looks.

Emily Blunt adds her voice to high heel outcry at the Cannes Film Festival. Thank gawd that rule didn’t exist when I was there.

-Now that it’s been confirmed that Julianna Margulies and Archie Panjabi didn’t shoot their final scene together, whenever you tell someone you hate your coworker, you now need to clarify if you “Good Wife hate” your coworker.

-And that was the day I decided to follow Grant Gustin

-The comments in this story about celebrities being dicks to their fans are beyond hilarious.

Amy Schumer tackles police brutality, body image and dog owners in her latest episode.

-I love the Mariah Carey/JLo feud so hard!

-Just in case you didn’t already love Amal, George Clooney says she kept him on one knee for “28 minutes” pleading his case when he proposed.

-Also, George is still not interested in joining Twitter.

John Greene wants to remind everyone that he’s a novelist, not a casting director. So leave him alone about the Looking For Alaska actors, mmm-kay?

Gael Garcia Bernal wields a giant machete in The Burning trailer.

Simon Pegg addressed his comments about the “dumbing down” of blockbusters and our current obsession with “very childish things” like “comic books, superheroes” — though I’m not sure it’s better to admit that he just makes stuff up when he’s bored during interviews.

Blair Waldorf and Seth Cohen are having a baby!

-Variety has a great cover story on Greg Berlanti. He has a hand in pretty much every show I watch religiously — though I’m not sure about his new Pan movie, based on this trailer.

Melissa McCarthy Wants to Open Mouth Kiss Jude Law

melissa-mccarthy-ew

Melissa McCarthy is giving me serious bang envy on the cover of EW. Also, in a new clip from her film Spy, she protects (and lusts after) Jude Law.

Anna Kendrick spoofs Indiana Jones in a new charity video. Seriously Hollywood, I would watch a full movie of this…

Rachel McAdams is fierce in the new True Detective season 2 trailer. Sigh. Fine, Nic Pizzolatto. I’ll watch it. You wore me down.

-Hmmm…InTouch deleted an article about Patrick Dempsey‘s alleged affair with a Grey’s Anatomy intern.

Miley Cyrus and Ariana Grande covered “Don’t Dream It’s Over” in animal onesies because life!

Charlize Theron and Sean Penn walked the Cannes carpet for Mad Max.

-The SuperGirl trailer actually looks fun (and Calista Flockhart seems to be having a ball), though I have lots of doubts that it can survive on CBS.

-Here are all of The CW’s new show trailers, including one for the Arrow/Flash spinoff, Legends of Tomorrow. It actually looks pretty damn good. I’m surprised they showed this much footage, since they haven’t even shot a full pilot yet.

-Crap, this new Julie Plece show looks good, too. What are you doing to me, The CW?!

-Although I guess I should stop feeling guilty about the fact that pretty much the only shows I watch regularly are on that network. In the fall, 3 out of 5 nights on The CW will be entirely exec produced by women, and they have two shows with non-white leads.

Rebel Wilson cracked Jimmy Fallon up during “Whisper Challenge.” (Also, I saw Pitch Perfect last night and I loved it. It’s definitely more joke dense than the first.)

-Sadness: Johnny Depp‘s two dogs may be put down because he didn’t follow Australia’s quarantine rules.

Anne Hathaway hires Robert De Niro in the first trailer for The Intern.
