David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson Kiss, Sing, Melt the Internet.

David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson were together for the upfronts and they decided to keep the party going by having her be the surprise guest at his NYC gig. Suddenly, my Tumblr and Twitter feeds were full of the MSR tag like old times. There’s video here and here if you feel the need to release some squees today. Sigh. This is just like when they moved in together for a bit after her marriage ended and the fandom exploded and my fictional ship momentarily became my real ship and it was super confusing…

Tom Hardy name-dropped The Littlest Hobo in an interview and my ovaries just exploded.

This warning that was sent to parents at a Brooklyn nursery school where Lindsay Lohan will complete her court-ordered community service there is classic.

Adam Sandler’s sweet musical tribute to David Letterman couldn’t come at a better time for him.

-Asked by Variety about playing a lesbian in her new movie, Cate Blanchett says she’s had relationships with women in the past “many times” but never thought about labeling herself. Just in case you didn’t already think she was a BAMF.

Amy Schumer destroys late-night starlet interviews in new sketch. The fact that her legs get shinier with every passing minute until they’re literally gold slays me.

-Are we really believing that Bradley Cooper will appear periodically in CBS’s new remake of Limitless? Like, really?

-Speaking of CBS, how weird is it that they’d Supergirl on Mondays in the fall, up against Gotham. Someone at DC is not going to be happy about that…

-The ABC upfronts turned into a weird, all-star dance party.

-Vanity Fair has a juicy read about the backstage struggles to save The View.

-Center Stage turns 15 today. I have watched that movie a stupid amount of times and it’s ruined me for ballet. (Did you know that when you go to a real ballet, there’s no on-stage motorcycles or physically impossible costume changes? What gives?!)

-The Vampire Diaries cast and crew pranked Nina Dobrev on her last day on set by “caking” her. That sounds delicious.

-Also, Nina bid a touching goodbye to her character in EW.

Anna Kendrick played Egg Russian Roulette with Jimmy Fallon and things got icky.

-I’m not loving the character art for Lupita Nyong’o in Star Wars, but maybe I’m just bitter that she’s CGI’d.

-On the plus side, Lupita opened Cannes looking fierce.

Jeremy Piven somehow found a way to make the Entourage press tour even more annoying. He’s doing his interviews in character.

-The girl who plays Luna Lovegood in the Harry Potter movies is dating the guy who played James Potter. Franchise synergy!

-In defending SNL against plagiarism accusations from This Hour Has 22 Minutes, Michael Che has pissed off a lot of Canadians.

Britney Spears and Iggy Azalea team up for their new ‘Pretty Girls’ music video.

-Marvel debuted an extended Ant-Man spot during Agents of SHIELD last night with lots of new footage.

-I know I probably shouldn’t be surprised that the Jem and the Holograms trailer is so, so bad — but this is exceptionally terrible, no?

Nina Dobrev Gets Bendy for Self

nina-dobrev-vampire-diaries

Nina Dobrev talks about saying goodbye to the Vampire Diaries in her new Self cover story.

Emilia Clarke met Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan Tatum at a Golden Globes party and was so taken with them she asked, “Please, can we all have something sexual together? You’re both beautiful, even just a hug.’” Emilia, did we just become best friends?!

Rachel McAdams’ comments to Marie Claire about her True Detective season 2 character almost make me want to watch True Detective season 2. I’m sure it’s a trick.

-I kind of love that Jay Z buys Beyonce geeky, fanboy-y gifts.

Sofia Vergara might do a reality show? About her career? Airing on Snapchat? Seriously, all of those words exhaust me.

Sarah Jessica Parker‘s Instagram stirred up Sex and the City sequel rumors — but she was just shopping.

-Of course Mariah Carey‘s Mother’s Day cake was a size 8 butterfly stiletto. I mean, of course.

Paul Scheer is doing a spoof of MTV TRL and it sounds amazing. Katie Lowes as Britney Spears and Terry Crews as Diddy? Sign me up!

-This bit in the Hollywood Reporter roundtable on writers room diversity offers some fantastic insight into Hollywood, especially when Lee Daniels takes over the interview and starts grilling the other showrunners about how many writers of colour are on their staff. The House of Cards guy who somehow thinks that diversity can be achieved without diversity really digs himself into a hole. For a really smart take on it, look at @kristenwarner’s Twitter feed from last night.

-A (really weak) joke in a Vulture post saying Zac Efron is joining Empire caused the internet to lose all its chill.

-It’s really paying to be a friend of celebrities these days. Katy Perry‘s BFF just released a book — and it’s about BFFs. Your move, Taylor Swift‘s posse!

-I’m seeing a lot of hate for the final half-season of Mad Men on Twitter, but I am so freaking here for it. This week’s was one of my faves.

Noah Galloway proposed on DWTS last night and it made Demi Moore cry.

-Meanwhile, Demi’s ex Bruce Willis tipped a waitress $900.

Diane Keaton interviewed Emma Stone for Interview, and Emma had very nice things to say about her maybe ex Andrew Garfield.

Shonda Rhimes‘ newest ABC show, The Catch, is being held for mid-season which surprises me.

-Meanwhile, here are the trailers for the new Fox fall shows and the new ABC fall shows. I’m most intrigued by The Family starring Joan Allen (and Matt Saracen!)

-Anyone want to see Anne Hathaway battle a giant lizard with her mind? Then this is the movie for you!

-I’m glad I’m not the only one who is totally confused that the Ninja Turtles sequel is kinda making me want to see it.

-These are 10 of the most hotly anticipated movies at this year’s Cannes Film Festival.

Anna Kendrick was her usual charming self on Ellen today, in which she talks about turning 30 and cutting back on the Taco Bell.

Mindy Kaling Discusses Her “Weird As Hell” Relationship with BJ Novak

mindy-kaling-instyle

Mindy Kaling looks lovely on the cover of InStyle, in which she talks about her relationship with BJ Novak (“romantically charged camaraderie with loud arguments”) and why she wants kids but maybe not marriage.

Miles Teller rescued a pregnant woman from a rip tide because his heroics extend way beyond making Shailene Woodley seem tolerable.

Anna Kendrick dropped some f-bombs on the Pitch Perfect 2 red carpet, managed to make it adorable.

-God bless The Washington Post for delving deep into the mysterious situation that had two primary Good Wife characters not sharing any scenes for years. I really, really liked Dan Fienberg’s quote in that piece about how manipulative and insulting to the audience Julianna Margulies and Archie Panjabi‘s fake scenes together these past two episodes have been. (And we’re all assuming last night’s was green-screened, right?) I was texting back and forth with Nicole last night during the show and was so angry that the writers expected us to suddenly care about their friendship when they haven’t been on screen together in 50+ eps. Hard pass!

-In any case, critics are tearing apart last night’s season finale. On-set tension or not, that was just bad. And yet, CBS just renewed it.

-Actually CBS basically renewed everythingexcept for Battle Creek and the terrible, terrible Stalker.

-Over on Fox, they announced The X Files revival will premiere in January 2016, American Idol is ending, and Empire has added Chris Rock, Lenny Kravitz and Alicia Keys. Also, Sleepy Hollow is going up against Shondaland on Thursday nights so colour it screwed.

-Meanwhile, NBC unveiled its fall lineup and it’s … not good. Blindspot may have potential, and critics seemed to enjoy the sizzle reels of Eva Longoria‘s Hot and Bothered, and Megan Mullally’s You, Me and the End of the World, but there’s not a lot of buzz for the others. And seriously, how is a “frazzled lady professional” show like Heartbreaker still getting made in 2015?!

Amy Schumer‘s latest skit is about men who want to have sex with beer.

-Are Jake Gyllenhaal and Ruth Wilson still on? Or is he with Rachel McAdams? Don’t fail me, internet!

-Here’s the new Orange Is the New Black trailer.

Henry Cavill is a walking PSA for why stars need stylists.

James McAvoy shaved off his hair. His beautiful, beautiful hair.

-National treasure Colin Hanks made an impassioned plea for more Star Wars merch for girls.

-Critics are loving the new Mad Max movie, which is currently at 100% on Rotten Tomatoes.

-Here’s the trailer for Unexpected starring Cobie Smulders, which got great buzz at Sundance.
