Jennifer Aniston: Not a Mother, Still a Feminist

Jennifer Aniston

-It’s so very rare that I think “f*ck, yeah!’ when listening to Jennifer Aniston talk, but her Today interview was pretty great. “[I haven’t] failed some part of my feminism or my being a woman or my worth and my value as a woman because I haven’t birthed a child.”

Idris Elba is sorry that his fake massive penis freaked everyone out.

-Just in case you need a good cry today: Jessica Alba‘s startup is worth nearly $1 billion.

-The Colbert Report changed its opening credits thanks to Gwen Stefani‘s Emmy screw up.

-Gwen made fun of her mistake in the star-studded singalong during Chelsea Lately’s finale last night.

-Watch the Grey’s Anatomy cast dance it out in this season 10 gag reel.

-Awww. Bryan Cranston‘s neighbors left balloons on his front gate to congratulate him on his Emmy win.

-Meanwhile, Emmy winner Aaron Paul is starring in a new fashion video.

Chloe Grace Moretz says the piracy of Kick-Ass 2 is why there won’t be a sequel. It has nothing to do with the last movie being terrible, of course.

Prince Harry is on a cruise in the Mediterranean with his new GF Camilla Thurlow (who has the most British of all British names).

-Apparently, this Instagram post from Karrueche Tran is her apology for mocking Blue Ivy. Meanwhile, a BET producer was suspended because of it.

French Montana and Khloe Kardashian have broken up, maybe because she found out that E! was paying him to date her.

Drake took Nicki Minaj on a late night run to a convenience store, and for some reason there’s video of him buying her snacks.

-Also, there’s some talk that Nicki may have faked that wardrobe malfunction at the VMAs.

-I’m guessing these photos of Mariah Carey looking like a single mother are just the beginning.

-Here’s a new clip from The Last Week, starring Jason Bateman and Olivia Wilde.

Rooney Mara helps start a revolution in the new Trash trailer.

Fall TV Preview

Fall TV preview

-Here are my picks for the 10 fall shows to watch. (I really wanted to just type “The Flash” ten times, but apparently that’s “lazy writing” or some sh*t.)

-Speaking of TV shows, here’s a new trailer for The Affair, one of the best reviewed new TV shows to come out this fall. No word yet if we’re getting it in Canada (though it stars Joshua Jackson, so it’s our national duty to find a way to watch it regardless). [Update: The Movie Network just announced they’ll air it starting Oct. 12]

-Will George Clooney be a married man come Sept. 12?

-More proof that Charlize Theron and Sean Penn are a match made in grumpy heaven: she says young people have “no fuckin’ concept about wisdom.”

Justin Bieber is under investigation for attempted robbery at a Dave & Buster’s. It’s terrible and all, but also kind of cute that that’s where he takes Selena Gomez on dates.

-I love that Robin Wright didn’t even try to hide her disdain when she lost at the Emmys last night.

Sofia Vergara has blasted critics who said her Emmy pedestal moment was sexiest. (Actually, she singled out just one critic in particular, which is bizarre.)

Aaron Paul’s acceptance speech at the Emmys caused his wife’s “Kind Campaign” website to crash. (It’s back up if you want to check it out.)

-On last night’s red carpet, Kristen Wiig and Sarah Silverman proved that you want them on your trivia team.

-Whoa. Are Natasha Lyonne and Fred Armisen dating?

-I can never fit Midnight Madness screenings into my film fest schedule, but I’m almost tempted to with What We Do in the Shadows. It looks HILARIOUS.

-This video of Michael Rooker “Grooting” behind Dave Bautista might just be my favourite thing on the internet right now.

-I’ve had this exact conversation about Gilmore Girls many, many times.

-Further proof that Hollywood has run out of ideas: a Full House revival may be in the works.

Josh Charles makes a big life decision in the new trailer for Bird People. This got raves in Cannes.

-A new Gone Girl teaser debuted during the Emmys, and it’s intense!

Emmys 2014: Best and Worst Dressed

Emmys 2014 fashion

Overall, I was pretty impressed by the Emmy red carpet. Maybe it was because the VMA fashions were so underwhelming, but I loved more Emmy looks than I hated. Of course, there were still some misses. Here are my five favourite and least favourite looks, and check out all the fashions in my MSN gallery.

BEST

Amy Poehler: This slinky Theia gown might be Amy’s career best to date. Eat your heart out, Will Arnett!

Julia Louis-Dreyfus: Simple and sleek, the Veep star was the picture of elegance in this Carolina Herrera pink dress (although the cameras made it look red).

Lizzy Caplan: There’s been a lot of chatter about how thin the Masters of Sex star looks lately, but that all disappeared the second she stepped onto the red carpet, looking like a goddess in this black Donna Karan Atelier gown with a flowing white back.

Julie Bowen: This Peter Som dress is pretty, but on her it’s a revelation when you consider all of her past fashion missteps.

Samira Wiley: It was a mixed bag for the Orange Is The New Black stars, but no one did it better than Poussey in this stunning yellow Christian Siriano dress.

WORST

Laura Prepon: Was this supposed to be ironic? Seriously, no one puts on this Gustavo Cadile dress and thinks “Yeah, I’m totally nailing it!”

Kerry Washington: I’m glad she was one of the few stars to not wear red, but this orange Prada was…not good. And the sparkly underwear beneath it wasn’t doing her any favours, either.

Mayim Bialik: It’s almost too easy to make fun of The Big Bang Theory’s style, but she was on a bit of a roll the past few red carpets, which makes this matronly look all the more heartbreaking.

Katherine Heigl: As I mentioned in my MSN gallery, this would have been a wonderful dress for someone like Glenn Close or Stockard Channing. But she’s 35! I guess she was trying to look presidential in honour of her new TV show, but this was a fail.

Michelle Monaghan: I’m a big fan of the True Detective star, but why did this Giambattista Valli Couture silk gown have sleeves?
