Tom Cruise’s Top Gun: Maverick Is Finally Coming

Tom Cruise faces off with Miles Teller‘s Rooster, son of the late Goose, in the new trailer for Top Gun: Maverick trailer. After many delays, the film hits theatres May 27.

Ezra Miller was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and harassment in Hawaii for “two separate incidents” that happened at a karaoke bar. This guy is a mess and has been for years. And yet he’s still leading a Marvel tentpole movie? Sigh.

-I aspire to have the kind of energy of a pregnant Rihanna.

Kim Kardashian saying her “nobody wants to work these days” comment was “taken out of context” is ridiculous. She knows we all saw the video, right? The question she was answering was, “What would be your advice for women in business?”

Angus Cloud, who plays Fezco on Euphoria, gave a very Fezco-like interview and I think I love him? Answering “Tell me how the show has been emotional for you” with “No, thank you” is a choice.

-Hmmmm….Kate Beckinsale was spotted wearing Jason Momoa’s coat at the Vanity Fair after party.

-It’s clearly going to take more than apology for Will Smith to recover from what happened at the Oscars (at least according to industry insiders), but I must admit that this is a very, very good apology.

-Meanwhile, Chris Rock‘s team wants you to know that the supposed apology from him that’s floating around is fake. It doesn’t sound like any apology is coming from him anytime soon.

Jada Pinkett Smith posted on Instagram: “This is a season for healing. And I’m here for it.”

-According to Radar, Will and Jada Pinkett Smith will talk about what happened at the Oscars on her Facebook Watch show Red Table Talk later this week. I’m so curious about her take on what went down. I keep thinking about her 40th birthday when he screened a documentary he’d commissioned about her family and when they returned from the party she told him, “That was the most disgusting display of ego I have ever seen in my life.”

Will Smith‘s mom says she was shocked by her son’s slap: “He is a very even, people person. That’s the first time I’ve ever seen him go off. First time in his lifetime…I’ve never seen him do that.”

-On today’s View, Whoopi Goldberg, who is on the Academy’s board of governors, said “We’re not going to take that Oscar from him” but predicted “big consequences” for Smith “because nobody is OK with what happened. Nobody, nobody, nobody.”

-While appearing on CBS This Morning, Jim Carrey said he was “sickened” by Will Smith’s standing ovation. “Hollywood is just spineless en masse and it really felt like this is a really clear indication that we aren’t the cool club anymore…It was such a selfish moment that cast a pall over the whole thing.”

-The fact that people are coming after Jodie Turner-Smith for tweeting she felt “second hand embarrassment for all involved” when watching the Oscars is so bizarre. Like, didn’t we all feel that?

Amy Schumer clarified that, yes, Kirsten Dunst was involved in that creation of their “seat filler” bit at the Oscars. I do not understand how some people yesterday were still insisting that the Smith/Rock altercation was scripted, but didn’t comprehend that this was a skit?

The Foo Fighters have canceled all of their forthcoming tour dates following the death of drummer Taylor Hawkins, saying, “Let’s take this time to grieve, to heal, to pull our loved ones close, and to appreciate all the music and memories we’ve made together.”

-I really loved this scene in CODA but I appreciate it even more when compared to the similar scene in the movie it was based on.

Gillian Anderson has signed a first-look deal with Netflix, through which she will produce new TV shows.

-The Sex Lives of College Girls’ Gavin Leatherwood, who played love interest Nico, will not be back for Season 2. Which is really weird considering how season 1 ended.

Elliot Page revealed that his Umbrella Academy character will be named Viktor Hargreeves.

Hilaria Baldwin is expecting her 7th(!) child with Alec Baldwin.

-Blackish star Anthony Anderson‘s wife of 22 years, Alvina Anderson, has filed for divorce for the second time. She previously filed in 2015 but they got back together.

-Moon Knight drops tonight on Disney+ and the reviews range from decent to not great.

Jason Bateman struggles with a mix of emotions in Ozark’s new trailer.

-I loved this piece on being trans and watching Everything Everywhere All at Once. I saw a Q&A with the writer/directors last weekend and one of the things Dan Kwan said that really stuck with me is that in his experience, children of immigrant parents often have to come out to them every couple of years because it’s not always acknowledged.

Colin Firth and Toni Collette star in the eight-episode HBO Max  limited series, The Staircase, based on the acclaimed French documentary that examined a novelist’s real-life trial for the murder of his wife. Here’s the trailer.
