Seth Rogen Hits New Highs

-In his British GQ cover story, Seth Rogen talks about his new weed business and confirms reports that Emma Watson stormed off the set of This Is The End — but he understood why she was uncomfortable over the super edgy scene. “I mean, I don’t look back on that and think, ‘How dare she do that?’ You know? I think sometimes when you read something, when it comes to life it doesn’t seem to be what you thought it was. But it was not some terrible ending to our relationship. She came back the next day to say goodbye. She helped promote the film. No hard feelings and I couldn’t be happier with how the film turned out in the end.”

–Lil Nax X‘s new music video is giving “WAP” a run for its money when it comes to horniness levels. That lap dance with the devil? Whooo boy!

-Speaking of eyebrow-raising music videos, Demi Lovato is set to recreate her overdose in her upcoming video for “Dancing with the Devil.”

-Congrats to Emma Stone, who welcomed her first child with SNL director Dave McCary.

–Bindi Irwin is also a new mom. She gave birth to a baby girl on her first wedding anniversary.

–Bryce Hall says he ‘didn’t cheat’ on Addison Rae. I refuse to care about any of these people.

–Serena Williams praised her friend Meghan Markle in a new interview, calling her “a great person and I think the epitome of strength.”

-Meanwhile, Prince Albert called out Harry and Meghan for their Oprah interview, saying it “”wasn’t the appropriate forum to be able to have these kinds of discussions.”

-I liked this piece on the Oscars, the movie business, and how the last year was much more than just a blip in the history of Hollywood.

-So basically everyone who’s ever been on Grey’s Anatomy is coming back this season, huh?

-I know I keep complaining that Hollywood has no new ideas, but I legit squealed when I read that an Ally McBeal revival is in the works, with Calista Flockhart possibly reprising her role.

–Maya Rudolph played the mimic challenge on the Tonight Show and crushed it.

-She’s also hosting SNL this weekend.

-There’s lots of talk about whether Meghan McCain should leave The View. I can’t imagine they want her to; she generates headlines for them almost every week.

-Here’s the first trailer for Amazon’s Frank of Ireland, starring Domhnall and Brian Gleeson.

-I don’t know if it’s because I find Margot Robbie so charming as Harley Quinn, or if the CW has worn me down when it comes to King Shark, or if it’s the Idris Elba of it all, or if it’s just John Cena’s arms, but I really dig the trailer for James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad. I don’t even know who I am anymore.

 

Kristen Stewart Transforms Into Princess Diana

-Every time I see a new image of Kristen Stewart as Princess Diana, I’m taken aback. The latest look from Spencer shows her posing with a replica of Diana’s sapphire and diamond engagement ring.

–George Clooney appeared on The Today Show and talked about teaching his twins how to pull pranks.

–Johnny Depp failed to overturn the ruling in his “wife beater” libel case. The judges refused his application for a new trial on the grounds that a second hearing was unlikely to produce a different outcome: “The claim was based on a story in The Sun alleging that he had beaten his former wife, Amber Heard. After a three-week trial in the High Court last year, in which both Mr. Depp and Ms. Heard gave evidence, Mr. Justice Nicol found that the allegation was true.”

–Issa Rae is on Variety’s new cover, and talks about signing on to five more years with HBO in a giant deal. “They wifed me up.”

–Chrissy Teigen has deactivated her Twitter, saying “This no longer serves me as positively as it serves me negatively, and I think that’s the right time to call something.”

-We lost a legend today in Jessica Walter, the award-winning actress whose career spanned five decades, who passed away in her sleep at home in New York City today. I’m loving this compilation of her best moments as Lucille Bluth on Arrested Development.

-Also, I can’t stop thinking about that NYT interview in which her male AD costars gaslighted her about how bad behaviour is a common thing on sets/ part of some actors’ “process,” and she had to tearfully remind them she’d been working for 60 years and never experienced anything like what she did with Jeffrey Tambor.

–Britney Spears is moving forward with her plans to make temporary conservator Jodi Montgomery her permanent conservator, and not let her father resume that role.

–Kim Kardashian‘s “mini town” in her backyard for the kids is admittedly very neat.

–Alexander Skarsgård showed off his artistic “skills” on The Tonight Show.

-Now there’s a black and white version of the Synder cut streaming on HBO Max. What’s happening?

-This is a fascinating article on how Sara Gruen, the Canadian-born author of Water for Elephants, developed a frenzied obsession to free an incarcerated man and it left her “absolutely broke,” “seriously ill,” and “years past deadline” on her next book.

-Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World is heading back to theaters, for anyone who’s not scared to go to those.

-Disney+’s new Mighty Ducks series, starring Emilio Estevez and Lauren Graham, is getting great reviews.

-Also, Lauren Graham says she has a clause in all her contracts that allows her to shoot Gilmore Girls if the show ever comes back.

-The Mummy won a recent Twitter romcom bracket. I wouldn’t have thought it’s a romcom but I rewatched it a few weeks ago and yup, it checks all the boxes.

-So the guy who went viral with a tweet about finding shrimp tails in his cereal is married to Topanga — and also perhaps a horrible person who is now getting Me Too’d? The internet works fast.

–Rachel Bilson and Melinda Clarke will revisit The OC as the hosts of a new podcast about the show, which will feature other costars.

–Dan Levy and Kate McKinnon compete about who’s more extra in their new Tostitos commercial.

–Anthony Hopkins and Abbie Cornish star in the assassin thriller The Virtuoso.

 

Demi Lovato Talks about Being “Sober in Moderation”

–Demi Lovato is a beautiful alien on the cover of Paper. In the interview, she talks about the ups and downs of the past year (“At one point I was engaged to a man, and now I’m very much not. And so I just wanted to allow myself the freedom to match my outside to what I feel like on the inside, and that’s what I’ve done”), dealing with negative press (“I think it was right after I got out of rehab in 2018. I saw an article somewhere that said I was morbidly obese, and that is the most triggering thing that you could possibly write about somebody with an eating disorder. That sucked, and I wanted to quit, I wanted to use, wanted to give up”), and says she is no longer wholly sober (“It’s just really important to note that just because I am trying this doesn’t mean it’s for everybody. Just like the dogmatic views of complete sobriety, that isn’t a one size fits all solution for everybody”).

-Reviews of the first two episodes of her docuseries (which dropped this week on Youtube, while the final two will debut in a couple of weeks) praise Lovato for her candor.

–Noah Centineo took to social media to flaunt his muscle gains in preparation for his upcoming superhero role. This feels like… too much?

–Chris Evans showed off his chest tattoos during interview and the internet went wild. Weirdly, this doesn’t feel like too much? I don’t make the rules, guys.

–Meghan McCain continues to be the least self-aware person ever, saying on The View today: “We’ve only had one Asian American host co-host host this show. Does that mean one of us should be leaving because there’s not enough representation? We’re talking about — is identity politics more important than the qualifications for the job?” She knows the only reason she got that gig was because of who her father was, right? She has the opposite of imposter syndrome.

–Prince Harry keeps getting new jobs. Today he was named one of 15 commissioners joining Aspen Institute’s Commission on Information Disorder team.

-Oh god. It turns out the Synder cut isn’t exactly the cut he wanted, because Zack Synder wanted the final scene of the four-hour comic to feature the Green Lantern John Stewart and not the Martian Manhunter, and that he filmed the new Green Lantern scene in his driveway last year during the pandemic with “an amazing actor” but the studio took it out. I’m so tired.

-Most of the Glee cast (minus Lea Michele) will come together for a tribute to the late Naya Rivera at the GLAAD Media Awards — with Demi Lovato set to introduce it.

–Ryan Murphy cast his go-to Evan Peters in the lead role for his upcoming Netflix series about Jeffrey Dahmer.

–Issa Rae just inked an eight-figure, five-year deal with WarnerMedia, keeping her in the HBO fam.

-People are really hating on Chrissy Teigen‘s new business venture.

–David Duchovny is heading back to Showtime as a series lead, this time for an adaptation of his latest novel.

-Splash News and Picture Agency, one of Hollywood’s biggest paparazzi agencies is filing for bankruptcy. Despite some headlines, it’s not because Meghan Markle sued them for invading a ‘private family outing’ in Canada last year.

–Dana Carvey‘s Biden impression is excellent.

–Miley Cyrus penned a sweet letter to her Hannah Montana character in honour of the 15th anniversary of the show’s premiere.

–Justin Bieber has returned from his tropical vacation — and one of his first stops was at a prison to spread the word of the bible.

-The Tina Turner documentary that airs this weekend on HBO considers her life and career well beyond her awful first marriage.

-Despite the TV production slowdown, there’s actually quite a few interesting-looking shows premiering in the next few weeks.

-Mary Goes Round, starring Aya Cash, is now streaming for free on CBC Gem. I really dug that movie.

-Speaking of Aya Cash, she and William Jackson Harper play a recently split couple who attend her sister’s wedding in the We Broke Up trailer.

–Anna Kendrick, Toni Collette and Daniel Dae Kim are on a mission to Mars in the trailer for Netflix’s Stowaway.
