Taylor Swift Puts Scooter Braun on Blast

Taylor Swift accepted the Billboard Woman of the Decade award last night and she used her speech to blast Scooter Braun. Among the highlights: “Scooter never contacted me or my team to discuss it prior to the sale or even when it was announced. I’m fairly certain he knew exactly how I would feel about it, though. And let me just say that the definition of toxic male privilege in our industry is people saying, ‘But he’s always been nice to me’ when I’m raising valid concerns about artists and their rights to own their music. And, of course, he’s nice to people in this room; you have something he needs…Private equity is what enabled this man to think, according to his own social media posts, that he could ‘buy me.’ Well, I’m obviously not going willingly.”

Colin Firth has split from his wife of 22 years, more than a year after allegations surfaced that she had an affair with a childhood friend.

Harry Styles’ second album, Fine Line, has finally arrived – and critics are loving it.

-Speaking of 1Ders, Niall Horan says Lizzo made him blush when they met. “[I told her] ‘Your voice is incredible. Your songs are amazing. You’re absolutely smashing it.’ And literally without missing a beat she just went, ‘You could smash this.'” My hero!

-My god, Stephen Amell looks like he’s 17 when he’s clean-shaven.

Sally Fields is the latest celeb to get arrested while protesting with Jane Fonda.

-This video of Henry Cavill reading The Witcher is a total thirst trap and it’s working. His. Arms.

-All the yes to the NYT’s take on the garbage fire that has been this season of Survivor: “In a workplace — a morally and legally responsible one, anyway — just imagine if you responded to documented misconduct by telling your employess: Well, you deal with it if you don’t like it. Imagine telling them the only way for them to get rid of their inappropriate coworder was through a public vote, at risk of personal loss and possibly being voted out themselves? Then imagine putting the whole thing on broadcast TV as a lesson to America in what happens when you speak up.”

-Meanwhile, CBS announced the reunion show won’t be airing live as per usual. Instead they will be taping it that afternoon due to “security concerns.” Oh sure. I’m certain that it has nothing to do with the fact that if any contestant criticized CBS or Jeff Probst on the handling of all this on the live show, they wouldn’t be able to edit it out.

-On Ellen’s show, Jason Momoa surprised a couple with an all-expenses-paid trip around the world for their “dream honeymoon” because they haven’t been able to go anywhere after an accident left the husband paralyzed.

Justin Timberlake also got into the surprise gift giving action for Ellen.

-I’m actually kind of surprised that Shazam is getting a sequel.

Greta Gerwig and Noah Baumbach discuss their relationship in the new issue of The Hollywood Reporter. Says Greta: “It’s exciting to have mutual acknowledgment of the work that he and I have both put into [our movies]. There is a sense of wanting to show off for each other. At least on my part. I remember when I showed Noah cuts or drafts of Little Women. He’s my favourite filmmaker and my favourite writer. It means everything to me that he thinks it’s good.”

-On the Today Show, Ryan Reynolds surprised the actress who played the Peloton Wife.

-I love you, Keri Russell but I will never, ever see Antlers.

Taylor Swift Talks Helping Fellow Artists

Taylor Swift billboard cover

-In her new Billboard cover story, Taylor Swift discusses advocating for women’s rights and breaking down gender barriers in the industry. “I get so many phone calls from new artists out of the blue — like, ‘Hey, I’m getting my first wave of bad press, I’m freaking out, can I talk to you?’ And the answer is always yes! I’m talking about more than 20 people who have randomly reached out to me. I take it as a compliment because it means that they see what has happened over the course of my career, over and over again.”

-There was a Melrose Place cast reunion and they all still look great!

-Survivor finally ejected Dan Spilo from the game — and it took him harassing a crew member before they did it. He was caught on camera inappropriately touching female players, he make it to the loved ones visit and to the top eight, but producers only removed him after his problematic behavior affected their own team. The show was already wearing it after his first accuser was voted out — the bad press is going to be even worse now.

-Shortly after the news broke that Harvey Weinstein had reached a settlement, Emily Ratajkowski showed up at the premiere of Uncut Gems with the words “Fuck Harvey” scrawled across her arm. She also posted it on IG. In words I have never said before (and likely never will again), go Emily Ratajkowski!

-After multiple interviews defending it, now Olivia Wilde says the depiction of the real-life journalist she plays in Richard Jewel was “out of her control.”

Harry Styles opted to eat cod sperm rather than tell ex-girlfriend Kendall Jenner which of his songs are about her.

Keri Russell was on Jimmy Kimmel’s show last night, and did some adorably terrible Star Wars impersonations. She also showed up Jon Hamm in the pickup line game.

Keanu Reeves‘ John Wick 4 and The Matrix 4 are getting the same release date. This seems…dumb.

Hugh Grant has been in a Twitter feud with Piers Morgan and he’s absolutely owning it.

Victoria Beckham answered fan questions on Instagram and she was kind of adorable about it?

-Despite critics seeming to dislike its new season, The Marvelous Mrs Maisel has already been renewed for season four.

-The In the Heights trailer from Lin Manuel-Miranda and Jon M. Chu is giving me all the feels!

Lizzo Is an Entertainer of the Year

succession regina king ew

EW’s Entertainers of the Year include LizzoAwkwafina, Renée Zellweger, Regina King, Taika Waititi and the cast of Succession.  I love how everyone is lusting over the Jeremy Strong pic. I don’t see it as Kendall but his real life photo shoots bring a whole other energy. Also, Sarah Snook talks in her adorable real accent in the video and she so wonderfully perky and un-Shiv-like.

-Time also named Lizzo the entertainer of the year. My Spotify Wrapped rankings would agree.

-Well, it now makes more sense why Justin Timberlake broke his silence on the affair rumours long after the story had died down. According to Us Weekly, “Jessica encouraged Justin to put out his statement on Instagram because she felt embarrassed by his actions and wanted him to take accountability.” People is quoting a source who says Jessica will stand by her man: “Obviously Justin drank too much this time, but Jessica believes he didn’t cheat on her. What’s most important to her in life is her family and being the best mom to Silas. She’ll never break up her family over something like this.”

-Meanwhile, Bette Midler wants Justin Timberlake to publicly apologize to Janet Jackson. Don’t we all?

-In the Hollywood Reporter, Reese Witherspoon addresses the backlash over her sizeable paycheque for Apple’s The Morning Show. “I guarantee these companies are real smart, and if they agree to pay us, they’re doing it for a reason. They probably had a lot of lawyers and a lot of business people decide on that number because they knew that they were going to make more than that back. Does it bother people when Kobe Bryant or LeBron James make their contract?”

-The SAG nominations were announced today. It’s insane that Knives Out isn’t nominated for ensemble cast, but good on the cast of Parasite for making the cut (I finally saw that movie and holy s%$# it’s amazing).

Harvey Weinstein and his former studio have a tentative $25 million deal with his accusers. Weinstein, accused of offenses ranging from sexual harassment to rape, won’t have to apologize, admit wrongdoing or pay his own money.

-How did I miss all the GIFs of Aaron Taylor-Johnson’s penis this week? (NSFW, obvs)

-As we recover from the first half of the CW crossover (which just isn’t as fun as they usually are, right?) here’s the first trailer for the CW’s newest superhero show Stargirl, starring Luke Wilson.

-Look, I don’t even go here but why is the Star Wars cast shading Rian Johnson and The Last Jedi? He did what he had to do.

-Holy cow the trailer for Promising Young Woman, starring Carey Mulligan, looks amazing! It costars Connie Britton, Molly Shannon, Alison Brie, Adam Brody and Max Greenfield.
