Prince Andrew Settles Sexual Assault Case

Prince Andrew just bought his way out of trouble. He reached an out-of-court settlement with Virginia Giuffre, who says she was forced by his longtime friend, Jeffrey Epstein, to have sex with the royal while she was a minor. The amount of the settlement is undisclosed. Andrew will also be making a “substantial” donation to Giuffre’s charity in support of victims’ rights.

-Many predicted he’d try to settle before he was scheduled for a 2-day deposition in London March 10, which could be made public, not to mention the Queen’s upcoming Jubilee.

Kanye West took to Instagram for apologize for posting screenshots of his text exchanges with Kim Kardashian. “I know sharing screen shots was jarring and came off as harassing Kim. I take accountability. I’m still learning in real time. I don’t have all the answers. To be [a] good leader is to be a good listener.”

-But then he went and sent Kim a truck full of roses for Valentine’s Day, which sounds kinda harass-y.

-Meanwhile, Pete Davidson sent flowers to girlfriend Kim’s sisters.

Julia Fox talked about her relationship with Kanye in her profile in The Cut, and succinctly summed up the role of celebrity: “When our paparazzi photos were leaked, there was just such an interest. I was kind of like, ‘Okay, I’ll tell you.’ I wasnt being, like, hush-hush, celebrity. Celebrities are not that fucking important. You can tell us about your stupid fucking date. We’re in a pandemic. Give people something to talk about. Do your fucking service, do your job.”

-I really liked Zendaya’s Super Bowl ad, mostly because it’s nice to see her smile after the last two Euphorias.

-I love this story: Johnny Greenwood says that when he first joined Radiohead, he only pretended to play keyboards. “The first thing I did was make sure my keyboard was turned off … [The other guys] made quite a racket, quite a noise. It was all guitars and distortion — and so I would pretend to play for weeks on end and Thom would say, ‘I can’t quite hear what you’re doing, but I think you’re adding a really interesting texture because I can tell when you’re not playing.’ And I’m thinking, ‘No, you can’t, because I’m really not playing.’ And I’d go home in the evening and work out how to actually play chords and cautiously over the next few months, I would start turning this keyboard up.”

-I’m not hearing a lot of buzz about The Gilded Age, but HBO has already renewed it for season two.

-Four months after cinematographer Halyna Hutchins was killed on set of the film Rust, her family has filed a wrongful-death lawsuit against Alec Baldwin and producers on the film.

Phoebe Bridgers has responded in court to the defamation lawsuit first filed against her months ago: “I continue to believe the statements that I made were true.”

-HBO announced that Barry season 3 will premiere on April 24. Yay!

-I love this profile on Bridget Everett, who deserves to finally be in the spotlight.

-A Quiet Place III is going forward.

Toni Collette is a mom with a secret past in the trailer for Netflix’s Pieces Of Her. I really liked this book and am looking forward to this.

Leighton Meester is accused of a crime while visiting a foreign country in the trailer for Netflix’s The Weekend Away.

-Here’s the trailer for Hulu’s Conversations with Friends, based on the Sally Rooney book and starring Taylor Swift‘s bf Joe Alwyn, along with Alison Oliver, Sasha Lane, and Jemima Kirke.

-Also from Hulu, Daisy Edgar-Jones and Sebastian Stan’s romantic relationship turns deadly in the trailer for Fresh.
