–Brad Pitt‘s slick awards acceptance speeches during this awards season have people talking about one of Hollywood’s worst-kept secrets: awards speech ghostwriting.

–Jameela Jamil says that the controversy surrounding her participation in the vogueing reality show forced her to come out. As Ira pointed out, this is a person who has previously publicly prided herself on turning down playing a deaf character because she didn’t want to take that away from a deaf actor. At the end of the day, it wasn’t about her being straight or gay. It was about her being in a show about ballroom culture while having zero connection to ballroom culture, and that hasn’t changed.

–Sam Raimi may direct Doctor Strange 2 and Twitter is psyched.

–Matthew Perry is the latest Friends star to join Instagram. This is starting to look studio-mandated, no? As if they’re all gearing up to promote something like, say, a reunion.

–Margot Robbie is the latest celeb to eat spicy wings on Hot Ones. Despite the spectacle of it all, this is sneakily becoming one of the best interview shows on the circuit.

–Eva Longoria is not impressed with the controversy surrounding Oprah‘s book club pick, American Dirt, especially that the author’s tour was cancelled because of supposed death threats — which turned out not to be true. “What made me really upset was when the publisher said, ‘We had to cancel the book tour because of safety concerns,’ which made my community look like we’re crazy people going to cause trouble. We’re not.”

-Every time Chris Hemsworth posts about his exercise routine on Instagram, I want to try bear crawls. And then I spend 0.034 seconds at the gym doing them and nope right out of it.

–Billy Porter wore his Oscar gown at his appearance on Sesame Street and I love it.

-In Vogue’s April issue, Selena Gomez talks about being famous, her 5-days-a-week therapy regime, giving up Instagram and flying under the radar.   The story is ok (though it leans heavily into positioning her as fragile) but I swear, I don’t even recognize her in some of these photos. Especially this one. Is that really her?! I blame the contouring makeup.

-Meanwhile, Selena says only two people in her phone contacts are famous. Let the guessing games begin!

-I like Anne Hathaway‘s new Elle cover.

–Matthew Perry told Jimmy Kimmel he beat up former classmate Justin Trudeau in the fifth grade because he was jealous that Justin was “excelling in a sport.”

–Melissa George has given an emotional interview about a violent incident with her ex and her attempts to flee him in Paris.

-Whoa. I had no idea the kid who played Ben on Friends is the same guy playing Jughead on Riverdale.

–Jennifer Garner testified on Capitol Hill about child poverty and early education.

-Speaking of famous ladies doing good, Angelina Jolie met with the Archbishop of Canterbury to talk about sexual violence, the refugee crisis and South Sudan.

-Girls’ star Alex Karpovsky doubts Ray and Shoshanna will get back together at the end of the series. THEN WHAT’S THE POINT?!

-The final four SNL eps of the season will be broadcast live across all four time zones in the US for the first time in history.

-The reviews for Netflix’s Iron Fist are bad. Like, really bad. Like 13% on Rotten Tomatoes bad.

-Who has the worst American accent on TV? There are a lot of contenders.

-These are some good suggestions for This Is Us’ next season.

–Roseanne’s up for a Roseanne reunion, which Norm MacDonald wants to write. I want this.

–Samantha Bee wishes everyone in the “resistance” would actually, you know, go vote.

-Here’s the new trailer for Brie Larson and Armie Hammer‘s ’70s-set action movie Free Fire, which people went nuts for at TIFF’s Midnight Madness.

Adele’s Carpool Karaoke Is Just What We Need Today

–Adele’s carpool karaoke is as wonderful as you wanted it to be. Her reaction when James Corden starts harmonizing on “Hello” is priceless. (Everyone forgets he was in Into the Woods and has bonafide pipes.)  Apparently, they shot for two hours and the first edit was 54 minutes. I would watch that whole damn thing.

-Thank god for Adele brightening up this day because it was rough. It started with Alan Rickman‘s tragic passing. Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Matthew Lewis and more penned lovely tributes, but no one punched me in the heart guts like Emma Thompson.  “Alan was my friend…this is hard to write because I have just kissed him goodbye.” Excuse me, I have to go rehydrate because I just cried ALL the tears.

-Also sad, Céline Dion‘s husband René Angélil died after a long battle against cancer.

-And as if today didn’t kick us all in the junk enough, then came the Oscar nominations. I’m glad Spotlight came out swinging since the buzz around that movie had quieted considerably in the last few weeks, but there were some big snubs. No Carol? No Jacob Tremblay? No Creed, Michael B. Jordan, Compton or Idris Elba? No wonder #OscarsSoWhite trended this morning. But hey, Jennifer Lawrence was rewarded with her fourth nomination for a performance in an unworthy film.

-In happier Jacob Tremblay news, this is him being adorable and telling Jimmy Kimmel what it was like to live our dream meet Oscar Isaac.

-I wish it was Grant Gustin‘s birthday every day, because his CW alums are sending him some pretty rad tributes. Colton Haynes reunited Glee’s Warblers, while the iZombie cast did their best Flash impression.

-Speaking of Colton, he and Emily Bett Rickards donned drag for a new photo shoot.

–Selena Gomez has explained that photo of her and Brad Pitt at a Golden Globes party.

-Everyone on my Twitter TL is buzzing about One Direction‘s Rainbow Bondage Bear conspiracy. Clearly, I need to follow different people.

-Ruh roh. Steven Avery’s ex-fiancée, Jodi Stachowski, says “he’s not innocent” in a new interview. (My friend interviewed the doc creators yesterday and after he asked the question I asked him to, they cut the interview short. But I need answers, dammit!!)

-Friends “reunion” update: Matthew Perry is not coming.

-Interesting. If the Netflix numbers NBC offered up yesterday at the TCAs are accurate, Jessica Jones is about as big as Quantico.

-Speaking of Netflix, CBS is planning to pull all of the CW shows from the service. Sigh.

–Cameron Diaz wrote a new book about aging gracefully. Um, ok.
