Taylor Swift Continues To Be A Content Machine

-Has anyone been more productive during this pandemic than Taylor Swift? She announced this morning that she has re-recorded her entire Fearless album which has 26 songs, including 6 never before released songs from the vault. She’s releasing a new version of Love Story at midnight.

–Meghan Markle scored a big win today. A judge ruled in her favour, saying the Mail On Sunday invaded her privacy by publishing a private letter from her to her father.

–Shia LaBeouf denies “each and every allegation” in FKA twigs‘ domestic abuse lawsuit against him. LaBeouf’s attorneys also requested that she be required to pay his legal costs, because of course they did.

-Vanity Fair’s fascinating new story on the Hillsong church reveal that the scandal is bigger than one fame-obsessed pastor.

-Speaking of new stories, take it with a grain of salt but DeuxMoi is now posting blinds about the LA Times’ story on Armie Hammer being killed because it got too complicated (but that another outlet may be working on something).

-Meanwhile, Page Six claims Hammer allegedly gave Jessica Ciencin Henriquez the big bruise she posted on Instagram during their brief summer romance.

–Emma Caulfield and Clare Kramer are the latest Buffy alums to support Charisma Carpenter‘s statement calling out Joss Whedon‘s on-set abuse. It’s been a day and the male actors who’ve worked with Whedon have remained conspicuously silent. (Some of their reputations may hint at why.)  The only guy who seems to have addressed it so far is Anthony Head, who played Giles. He told a morning show he had no idea and felt like he “let down” his costars: “I have been up most of the night just running through my memories thinking ‘What did I miss?’. This is not a man saying ‘I didn’t see it so it didn’t happen’. I am gutted, I’m seriously gutted because one of my memories, my fondest memory was the fact that it was so empowering.”

-Yesterday I asked what it would take for Disney to fire Gina Carano from The Mandalorian. Apparently, it was social media posts comparing the treatment of Republicans to Jews in Nazi Germany. Lucasfilms called her posts “abhorrent and unacceptable” and her talent agency, UTA, also dumped her.

–Morgan Wallen posted a 5-minute video to fans, saying he’s 9 days sober after his N-word outburst.

–Kevin Hart’s personal shopper got a little too personal — he allegedly spent more than $1 million buying himself luxury goods using the star’s credit cards.

–Chris Harrison has apologized for comments he made during a recent interview with former Bachelorette Rachel Lindsay. “I now realize I have done is cause harm by wrongly speaking in a manner that perpetuates racism and for that I am so deeply sorry.”

–Dolly Parton will reunite with her 9-to-5 costars when she guests on Grace and Frankie.

-Vulture says Barb & Star Go to Vista Del Mar is weirdo cinema all the way, filled with non sequiturs, oblique cutaways, and an impressive level of commitment to the bit from its stars. I’m so curious about this one…

-In her new Vanity Fair cover story, Billie Eilish talks about over-enthusiastic fans (“When you’re excited about something, you forget boundaries and you forget what’s polite and what’s kind of not polite. I’ve had a lot of weird situations—people will kiss me and pick me up, spin me around”), and the intense scrutiny she’s under (“I thought that I would be the only one dealing with my hatred for my body, but I guess the internet also hates my body. So that’s great”).

-To promote Savage X Fenty for Valentine’s Day, Rihanna posted a clip of her dancing in sheer lingerie — and damn if she isn’t making that mullet work for her.

–Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker are reportedly dating. They first became friends because their kids hang out together.

–Keira Knightley says she’ll never shoot another sex scene for a male director.

–Prince Harry dismissed rumors that he and Meghan Markle were giving up social media for good.

-Actor/director Asia Argento has accused The Fast and the Furious director Rob Cohen of drugging and raping her while they were filming the 2002 movie XXX. “He abused me, making me drink GHB, he had a bottle of it…At the time, I really didn’t know what it was. I woke up in the morning naked in his bed.” A representative for Cohen denied the allegations “as absolutely false.” Cohen was previously accused of assault by his daughter and and a women who chose to remain anonymous.

-A live-action Harry Potter TV series is reportedly in early development at HBO Max. Great, another project to line JK Rowling’s pockets.

-Variety’s Actors on Actors interviews continue to hit it out of the park. Jamie Dornan and Eddie Redmayne recall their time as roommates, and — in what is the most surprisingly delightful pairing yet — Pete Davidson and Glenn Close talk about keeping movie costumes and her never winning an Oscar. “Is it better to be wheeled out in a wheelchair and get the lifetime achievement award? You don’t have to make a speech…It might be cool to never get one. I wouldn’t mind being wheeled out when I’m old and drooling, and I have a gray wig to cover my bald head.”

-This story about how power players in entertainment and media are hustling hard to get the vaccine before they’re supposed to is so deeply unsurprising.

–Demi Lovato is going back to her comedy roots. She’s signed on to a new sitcom for NBC called Hungry.

–This photo of Ben Affleck juggling all the online orders he placed in a pandemic haze is way too relatable.

-Ugh. As someone who works in social media, this is my worst nightmare: Jennifer Lopez tried to make her ‘Love Don’t Cost a Thing’ challenge go viral, and it flopped — mostly because we were all too busy creating Bernie memes. Plus, strolling on a beach and throwing away expensive things? In this climate??

–Jodie Turner-Smith will play the role of Éile in a prequel to the hit Netflix series The Witcher. Yes, cast her in all things!

–Ellen DeGeneres has one more year left on the contract for her show and negotiations for what happens next will reportedly begin next month, with Kelly Clarkson nipping at her heels.

-My god, the second Euphoria special is somehow even better than the first. I’m enjoying these slowed down, character-driven episodes more than I ever liked the show.

–Ellen Pompeo is executive producing a new ABC drama based on Elin Hilderbrand‘s best-selling Paradise book trilogy.

-Meanwhile, ABC has delayed the return of Grey’s Anatomy, Station 19, and A Million Little Things to March.

-I’ve previously only read a few historical romances but I was shocked by how dated Bridgerton seemed when I started reading the series before it debuted on Netflix. If those books are what people think romance novels are like, we’re in trouble. This piece nails it: “Yes, romance is having a moment, but it’s bittersweet for the most popular representation of our genre to be based on a series of books from two decades ago.” This list of Regency recommendations seems like a better reflection of what’s happening in the genre now.

–Andy Samberg just released a commentary track for Palm Springs on Hulu. I’m actually surprised it took this long for streamers to get into DVD-style extras. I want blooper reels on everything!

-People are losing their minds over the Godzilla vs. Kong trailer. Sure.

-I adore Elle’s new cover with Jodie Turner-Smith. In the interview, she talks about giving birth to her daughter: “Patriarchal society really is out here, scamming women into thinking that they’re not supremely powerful beings. Because damn, it’s some goddess-level shit.”

-What’s up with all the gossip about Kanye West with makeup influencers? First we had outlandish rumours surrounding Jeffree Star, and now TikTok makeup guru Cole Carrigan claimed West’s bodyguard instructed him to meet the rapper at a W Hotel late at night — but then he retracted it. That’s one way to get publicity, I guess.

–Rob Lowe says he lives in Prince Harry and Meghan Markle‘s neighborhood, and swears he’s seen Harry with a ponytail. Pics or it didn’t happen.

-Meanwhile, William and Kate reportedly ignored the Scottish government’s warnings to stay at home.

–Lana Del Rey‘s disastrous album promo tour continues. She says that this clip of her talking about how Trump didn’t mean to incite a riot was taken out of context.

–Chuck Norris‘ rep insists it was a lookalike and not him who attended the Capitol insurrection after images trended on Twitter.

-Are Olivia Wilde and Harry Styles already in the sharing jewelry stage of their relationship?

-Most movie theatres are closed and production is in flux, but streaming services have stockpiled content. Netflix released a new star-studded promo for its massive 2021 movie slate, which promises new movies every week of the year. We get glimpses of some of their most anticipated offerings, including Amy Adams‘ The Woman In The Window, Melissa McCarthy and Octavia Spencer‘s superhero comedy Thunder Force, and Jennifer Lawrence and Leonardo DiCaprio‘s Don’t Look Up.

-Marvel also seems to be in good shape, despite the current climate. Kevin Feige just made a lot of announcements about what’s on their slate, including that Deadpool 3 will remain R rated despite now being a Disney property.

–Brad Pitt relaxes in the sun in the first ad campaign for his Miraval rosé (which is surprisingly tasty).

-Glee stars posted tributes to Naya Rivera on what would have been her birthday.

-The Bachelor’s “Queen” Victoria Larson has deleted an Instagram photo that appears to show a Trump flag draped over a chair in her house.

–Kim Cattrall is not joining the SATC revival, but she is liking fan’s tweets about her steering clear of it.

-I think we’re all ready for a Brendan Fraser comeback but a Darren Aronofsky joint called The Whale about man with compulsive eating disorder is not what I’d hoped for.

-FX is parting ways with True Detective creator Nic Pizzolatto, who had two years left on his deal there, making his planned series with Matthew McConaughey DOA.

–Sally Rooney, the author of Normal People and Conversations with Friends, is set to release her third novel in the fall. Do you think she’ll have discovered quotation marks by then?
