Mindy Kaling Covers Shape

Mindy Kaling baby weight Shape Magazine

-I love that Mindy Kaling is Shape’s latest cover model — which isn’t a typical choice for them. I skimmed over the stuff about losing the baby weight, but she has some cute nuggets about motherhood: “What’s great for me is that my doctor told me that incessant chatter is good for a baby, and I’ve lived my whole life waiting to have a captive audience. So, I spend the days narrating to her. I’m constantly doing voice-over for her, as I did in The Mindy Project. Honestly, I feel like her first words are going to be, ‘Just stop. Please!'”

Dylan Sprouse is out here coming for Jared Leto, proving once again that he’s the superior Sprouse brother. And Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn took it further, tweeting “he starts at 18 on the internet?” Oh SHIT!

-Lethal Weapon producers reportedly approached  Karl Urban and Johnny Knoxville (both passed) before turning to Seann William Scott, who was originally offered and passed on the role two years ago.

Thandie Newton won the Cannes Solo premiere red carpet in this custom Vivienne Westwood dress that featured  black characters in the Star Wars universe — modeled from photos from her personal collection of action figures.

-Fashion drama is the best drama. Amal Clooney reportedly made Tom Ford mad by not wearing his dress at the MET gala arrivals — but opting to wear it later that night, which means that another A-lister won’t get to debut it at a future red carpet event.

-Those rumours about Donald Glover getting his own Lando movie are not true…yet.

Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool took over Stephen Colbert’s monologue last night.

-This “bad fan” thread between TV critics on The Americans really captured what I am feeling. I know it’s bad to *want* them to end the show with Elizabeth and Phillip getting away with it, but that’s where I am.

CBS responded to Pauley Perrette’s tweets claiming she was physically assaulted while on NCIS: “Over a year ago, Pauley came to us with a workplace concern. We took the matter seriously and worked with her to find a resolution. We are committed to a safe work environment on all our shows.”

This non-review of Lars Von Trier‘s new film by a critic who walked out of it at Cannes confirmed that I will never, ever see it.

Christina Aguilera and Demi Lovato released a new collab any instead of it being a bop it’s … this.

-The second season of 13 Reasons Why is NOT getting good reviews. I’m ok with that. I just don’t think I can spend any more time in that world.

Stephen Amell took his daughter to Frozen on Broadway, and since his former Arrow costar’s wife plays Anna, she got some extra facetime. The kid decided to use it in the cutest possible way.

-The latest trailer for Mission Impossible: Fallout shows off an insane skydiving stunt.

-This trailer for Destination Wedding, which basically consists of Winona Ryder and Keanu Reeves snarking at each other in Paso Robles wine country, looks like the perfect movie and I will not be convinced otherwise!

Rihanna Talks About Her Relationship with Drake In Vogue

-The Ocean’s 8 cast continues to dominate magazine covers. Today, it’s Rihanna‘s turn. She hooked the big one: Vogue. She talked about turning 30 (“Okay, so now that I’m 30, are there things I’m supposed to do? Should I be worried? Should I be freezing my eggs? What do you do at 30?!”) and her status with Drake (“We don’t have a friendship now, but we’re not enemies either. It is what it is”).

-In less happy Vogue news, Gigi Hadid is being accused of blackface for her Vogue Italia cover. She has since apologized.

-There’s a new show on Netflix that is a post-apocalyptic teen jam that seems like a CW show, but it’s Danish? Sign me up!

Celine Dion dances with Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool in the new “Ashes” music video and it might be the best thing this country has ever produced!

-Here’s the first trailer for The Yellow Birds starring Alden Ehrenreich, Tye Sheridan and Jennifer Aniston.

-This trailer for Robin Hood movie seems to be a ripoff of CW’s Arrow.  Sorry Taron Egerton, but you’re no Stephen Amell.

Christina Aguilera Is Makeup-Free and Gorgeous in Paper

Christina Aguilera Make Up Free Paper Magazine Cover

Christina Aguilera looks amazing on the new cover of Paper magazine.

Chrissy Teigen implied that she knows who bit Beyonce. TELL US!!

-Apparently people are falling asleep in Wes Anderson‘s new movie Isle of Dogs, which doesn’t bode well.

-Every since it started streaming on Hulu, everyone on my Twitter feed is talking about ER again. I love that it’s having a second life.

-After the Los Angeles District Attorney’s office confirmed that his case was under review, Gossip Girl’s Ed Westwick removed all sexual assault denials from his social media accounts.

-Nickelodeon ended its relationship with children TV super-producer Dan Schneider, and now everyone is bracing for  some stories to come out.

-A new report from Vulture says Phil Lord and Chris Miller shot “more than 30 takes” for some scenes on Solo: A Star Wars Story, and a first assistant director had to step in and handle directing duties on some of the scenes due to their lack of preparation. Also, when Ron Howard came onboard there were reportedly no script changes; he just did “scene for scene do-overs” of what they’d already shot. But sure Hollywood, keep handing the keys for blockbuster franchises to inexperienced dudes instead of women who could actually get it right the first time…

Sean Penn‘s cigarette-puffing, grumpy appearance on Colbert reminded me why I really, really dislike Sean Penn.

-As if that wasn’t enough, he also talked crap about ex-wife Robin Wright on Marc Maron’s podcast: “We don’t have a lot of conversation. We don’t not get along…And as it turned out, she and I did not share the same ethical views on parenting, including the continuing parenting of adult children.”

-I love this article on how NBC’s new show Rise shows us how not to be a male ally. I watched the second episode and I couldn’t believe how terrible Josh Radnor‘s character is — or how this show possibly came from the same guy who did Friday Night Lights and Parenthood.

-Even if Emily Blunt says she can’t do it for awhile, I’m actually pretty psyched that Tom Cruise is trying to pull together an Edge of Tomorrow sequel. That movie deserved way more attention than it got.

Leonard Nimoy‘s son married Star Trek: DS9 star Terry Farrell, which is all kinds of great.

-At the Riverdale panel at PaleyFest, a brave young fan asked Cole Sprouse and Lili Reinhart if they are dating. (Isn’t this common knowledge? Or perhaps not everyone follows Vancouver paparazzi twitter gossip like I do.)

-On the one hand, I’ve heard that the last half of Avengers: Infinity War is basically a Black Panther sequel, which sounds amazing. On the other hand, there’s reports that the film rests on Vision and Scarlet Witch’s romance, which is much less amazing.
