Lady Gaga Kills It on Carpool Karaoke

-Like her or not, Lady Gaga just delivered one of the best Carpool Karaoke editions yet, vocal-wise. Also, I never want to drive with her.

–Angelina Jolie and some of her kids reportedly spoke to the FBI for four hours about Brad Pitt’s plane incident.

-There are new reports that Tom Cruise is getting “serious” with his girlfriend of several months, which has absolutely nothing to do with his new movie now in theatres.

–Bruno Mars said Adele was a “diva” when he worked with her but he insists he meant it as a compliment because he clearly doesn’t know how words work.

-The internet can’t tell if this photo is of Tom Hanks or Bill Murray. It’s Murray. The internet is dumb.

-Meanwhile, Tom Hanks wants to do love scenes with Channing Tatum. Tom Hanks is all of us.

-More details have emerged about that Tim Miller/Ryan Reynolds rift that saw the director leave Deadpool 2. One of the issues was that Miller reportedly wanted to cast Kyle Chandler, and Reynolds was against it. Who the hell says no to Kyle Chandler?!

-Meanwhile, Taylor Swift made Ryan Reynolds‘ birthday message all about her. Of course she did.

-There’s a new short debuting tomorrow on YouTube that stars Tom Cavanagh, Josh Dallas and Emily Bett Rickards. I like all of those people!

-Sadness: director Len Wiseman has filed from divorce from Kate Beckinsale after 12 years of marriage.

-Try to read this Patton Oswalt interview about his late wife and not cry. Actually, don’t even try. It’s not even physically possible.

-Here’s the first extended trailer for the latest 24 reboot. I don’t know how this will be without the Kief, but the last limited reboot of this series was way better than I expected it to be.

-The CW has bought yet another drama from Greg Berlanti. Does that man not sleep?!

-Welp. This is awkward: Chloë Grace Moretz’s Teen Vogue cover features her now ex-boyfriend, Brooklyn Beckham. Even more awkward: in the interview she talks about how their relationship “can withstand space and time.”

-Contrary to reports, Jonah Hill says he hasn’t actually cancelled all French press for War Dogs after being mocked on TV for his sex life. The host apologized to him (but has he apologized to her for starting the whole thing by telling her “I hear you get sodomized pretty often”?).

-Every TV critic I love is gushing about Amazon’s new show Fleabag. How do we get this in Canada STAT?

-Speaking of critical love, I’m glad to see the Netflix version of Black Mirror is getting such good reviews.

–Bobbi Kristini‘s boyfriend was found legally responsible in that wrongful-death lawsuit.

–Mark Walhberg has stopped trying to get those old assault charges pardoned. One of my friends interviewed him this week and says he’s mellowed considerably over the years. But he’s still, you know, him.

-Well, this is embarrassing: the wife of the Light Between the Oceans director is slamming bad reviews in a new essay.

-I probably won’t see the new Bridget Jones movie for a week or two because after TIFF I don’t want to step inside another theatre for a while, but people are already writing articles about the ending.

-The new Honest Trailer for Captain America is now making me question why I liked that movie.

 

Chris Evans Talks About Suffering From Anxiety and Wanting Kids

–Chris Evans‘ charm offense continues with this game of frozen blackjack with Jimmy Fallon, and this interview with Rolling Stone, in which he talks about his insecurities at premieres, his mother, and his desire to have children. (Sidenote: how do I make the photo above the desktop image inside my eyelids?)

-So sources close to Janet Jackson are claiming that the singer (who turns 50 this month) is pregnant. Hmmm.

–Chloë Grace Moretz doesn’t look like an actual human being on the cover of Glamour, but I love the boots she wears inside.

–Rumer Willis is calling out Vanity Fair for photoshopping her jaw.

-Why did so many people take selfies in the bathroom at the MET Gala? Was the cellphone ban so oppressive that they just couldn’t help themselves? The pic of Kristen Stewart and Willow Smith (with a surprise Jemima Kirke cameo) remains my fave.

-This Woody Allen interview is all kinds of icky, especially the part where he gushes about what a great father figure he is to Soon-Yi…who is his wife.

-It’s the greatest tragedy of my life that Matthew Rhys and Matthew Goode‘s wine show is geo-blocked over here. Instead, I have to be content with tiny clips about Rhys sniffing wine up his nose.

-So I guess we’re getting new music from Justin Timberlake this week?

-This is such a good argument that The Flash’s recent struggles mean Team Berlanti is over-worked. I’m still digging Arrow, but The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow and Supergirl are all limping along right now.

-Speaking of interesting TV articles, I like this one on who bears responsibility for social media spoilers.

-Actual question: has Drake ever had a real girlfriend?

–Jay Z’s reportedly responding to Lemonade with an album of his own, because he has feelings too, dammit.

–Hulu has renewed The Mindy Project for season 5 and The Path for season 2. I’m surprised by Mindy’s reprieve; that show even airs on TV here and it’s still dropped off the buzz map completely.

-I’m intrigued by all the positive talk about Neighbors 2. Feminist messages? Positive depictions of gay male relationships? Huh.

–Demi Lovato is maybe feuding with Nicki Minaj over some perceived Instagram shade. Wake me when someone yells “What’s good?”

-This Aisha Tyler interview had more testicle talk than I was anticipating, but it’s still great.

–Blake Lively needs a bigger rock in this trailer for The Shallows.
