Celebs Celebrate InStyle

julianne moore in style

-This is a really good week for cover stories. For InStyle’s 25th anniversary, they gathered a bunch of stars to look back on their favourite covers, including Jennifer Garner, Julianne Moore, Jennifer Aniston, Kerry Washington, Cameron Diaz, Reese Witherspoon, Halle Berry, Gwyneth Paltrow, and more. All of the videos are great, but the Garner one is gold.

-Speaking of good cover stories, Woody Harrelson tells Esquire that turning down the lead in Jerry Maguire is his biggest career regret.

-Vanity Fair’s Power of Young Hollywood covers feature Cole Sprouse, Stephan James, and Camila Cabello.

Nic Cage did an interview with the New York Times that has to be read to be believed.

-I also dug this profile of Nicholas Braun, who plays Cousin Greg on Succession (though he will always be Cameron from the TV version of 10 Things I Hate About You to me).

Dakota Johnson and Chris Martin are still going strong. Huh.

Jacob Tremblay mistaking Tobey Maguire for his lawyer is giving me life.

Justin Theroux opened a hipster “dive bar” which seems very douchey and therefore very on-brand.

-Apparently the Pitch revival came close to happening but couldn’t find a home at Disney. Frankly, I’ve been so disappointed by reboots and revivals recently that I’m ok with this.

-The Rookie actress Afton Williamson says she won’t be returning to the ABC drama starring Nathan Fillion, claiming that she faced racial discrimination from the hair department and exec producers, and sexual harassment from a recurring guest star, which escalated at the wrap party.

Tiffany Haddish is shooting in Toronto and she’s been hanging out at the gym because the men are hot. She clearly goes to a different gym than me.

Melissa McCarthy saw if we want more women-led movies, we have to buy more tickets to them. She’s not wrong, but I think there’s a bit more to it than that.

-The Ryan Murphy-produced American Crime Story is coming back — and the focus will be on the Clinton presidency scandal, with Monica Lewinsky on board to produce. The cast is stacked: Sarah Paulson as Linda Tripp; Beanie Feldstein as Lewinsky; and Annaleigh Ashford as Paula Jones. I only wish it wasn’t airing in the final weeks leading up to the 2020 election, which seems like a *really* bad time to remind everyone what a human tire fire Clinton could be.

-This is surprising: the 90210 reboot, which premieres tonight, is getting reviews that range from mildly positive to positive to glowing.

Charlize Theron, Chloë Grace Moretz and Oscar Isaac lend their voices to The Addams Family trailer.

Jennifer Lawrence Talks Body Image and Pay Gap in Harper’s Bazaar

jennifer-lawrence-harpers-bazaar

-I really like Jennifer Lawrence‘s new interview with Harper’s Bazaar, in which she admits she works hard for her “average” body. “Everybody says, ‘We love that there is somebody with a normal body!’ And I’m like, ‘I don’t feel like I have a normal body.’ I do Pilates every day. I eat, but I work out a lot more than a normal person.” She also smartly responds to the controversy over her pay gap comments, saying, “I try not to be too sensitive to the ‘poor rich girl’ jokes. I was saying my reality is absolutely fabulous, but it is not the reality of a lot of women in America.”

-Congrats to Anne Hathaway and Adam Shulman for welcoming a baby boy — and for doing it a month ago without anyone finding out. And for giving him a normal name. Really, they’re just winning at life right now.

Melissa McCarthy’s deal to appear on Gilmore Girls just happened to go through the day before her critically panned movie opened. What are the odds?

Kate Hudson talks about deliberately hiding from her children in her new InStyle cover story. Sounds like my kind of parenting.

Jennifer Aniston says she started eating pasta again after meeting Justin Theroux. The rest of her diet sounds super sad, though.

-I’m actually surprised it took this long for Cameron Diaz to be featured in GOOP. She’s talking about the science of humans cells so at least it’s unintentionally hilarious.

-They’re once again trying to do a US remake of Misfits. Why, Hollywood? Whyyyyy???

-I’m really glad Edge of Tomorrow is getting a sequel. That is maybe the most underrated Tom Cruise movie in decades.

-This is the most Nic Cage thing that Nic Cage has ever done.

-If you just got let go from your steady TV gig and are looking for a new job, maybe don’t tweet support for an article that says the show will suck without you. Network execs see that stuff, fool.

-An oral history of Bridget Jones’s Diary from Renée Zellweger, Colin Firth and more? Well, if you insist.

Paul Walker‘s 16-year-old daughter Meadow has received a $10 million settlement from the driver in the fatal crash.

-I really liked this week’s AV Club Q&A about body shaming in TV and movies.

-Brace yourselves for some shocking news: Leonardo DiCaprio is dating another model.

-How did I not know that there’s a movie version coming of The Office UK?

EW Offers First Look at the Gilmore Girls Revival

gilmore-girls-revival-ew-luke-loralei

-EW just unveiled their Gilmore Girls return cover and I’m in love. Meanwhile, the showrunner says of Melissa McCarthy: “I can get her in and out in two hours.”  Methinks it’s too little, too late, but we’ll see.

-I can barely pick out the One Direction guys from a lineup but that didn’t stop me from falling down a crazy fake baby conspiracy rabbit hole today. I’m not sure what’s crazier — the theories or the actual public story. Who announces to People he’s expecting a kid with a fling when she’s only 11 weeks along? Why are they passing off baby pics from random bloggers as their own? What’s with all the queerbaiting? I don’t understand any of this, but I do know this: if I’m ever falsely accused of a crime, I want the 1D fandom in charge of investigating the case. They’ve got receipts!

-This is the second craziest read of the day: a National Enquirer editor writes about his insane 2-year war with Charlie Sheen. It gets weirder and weirder the more you read…

Russell Crowe tries to prove he’s funny enough to host SNL in these new promos. It doesn’t work.

-You can watch the first four minutes of the Orphan Black season premiere here.

-This is adorable: Tom Cruise has given Kristen Dunst a coconut cake every Christmas since they shot Interview with a Vampire.

-Ruh roh! Jennifer Lopez‘s new feminist song is also produced by Dr. Luke.

-Wait wait wait — Ryan Reynolds is in talks to star in the adaptation of The Rosie Project?! Seeing as the main character is a nerdy, OCD-plagued professor, this movie might already be in trouble.

Aisha Tyler’s Reddit AMA was wonderful.

David Duchovny and Stephen Colbert had fun trying to make the CBS person in charge of bleeping out swears work overtime.

-I feel such weird pride for the Amell boys, as if somehow had a hand in their success. I once waved to one of them while crossing the street. Does that count?

Anna Kendrick and Sam Rockwell were on GMA today to promote Mr Right, and it was amazing. (The best part was before the interview, before they cut to commercial while surrounded by people on trampolines dancing to a DJ and Kendrick was like “what is happening?!” and Rockwell was just all “who cares — let’s dance!”)

Cameron Diaz gushed about the “real love” she’s found with her husband. Which is sweet — until you remember he’s one of the Good Charlotte guys and everything gets all confusing again.

-The trailer for the next Star Wars sequel Rogue One is so filled with kickass women. Here’s a deep dive into all the easter eggs. I love this trailer so much that I had to stop myself from trying to burrow my head into my laptop’s screen when I first watched it…
