Taylor Swift Couldn’t Defeat Thanos

Taylor Swift appeared on the Ellen Show today, where she apologized for once trash-talking Joe Jonas on the show, revealed that she shaves her legs every day, and geeked out over Avengers: Endgame.

-Can we leave Britney alone, for real this time? Britney Spears’ manager says he’s worried about her well-being, he’s not pressuring her to perform and she may never again. “Let her be a civilian for a while. She’s given so much. Give her time.” On the flip side, her mom says that she’s doing “wonderfully.”

-Meanwhile, Kevin Federline is reportedly blocking her from spending more time with her sons until she’d deemed “stable.”

-An arrest warrant has been issued for Stan Lee‘s former business manager, who’s charged with elder abuse.

-In happier Stan Lee news, this is a very cute clip of Brie Larson meeting the late comic creator.

-I’m so behind on the Lupita Nyong’o and Janelle Monae gossip. Are they really a thing? And why do people keep talking about Brie and Lupita? Whoever is or is not dating, I love it all.

-Have you watched Wine Country on Netflix yet? It’s a delight! Busy Philipps had the cast on her show to talk dildos and women directors, as well as drink lots of wine.

-Speaking of the Wine Country cast, Amy Poehler is hyped for a Parks & Rec reunion: “I’m Avengers-style ready to put it on at any time.”

Mick Jagger is 75 and he can still move like this.

-The CW didn’t renew their deal with Netflix, instead opting to shop their new shows to other streaming services (or keep them on their own). A lot of their shows survived of their Netflix popularity/revenue alone; I’m guessing this will be the last season they renew every show on their slate.

-I kind of love that stars are treating their show’s renewal announcements like they’re Constance Wu.

-CBS’ handling of Bull/Michael Weatherly still sucks.

Milla Jovovich opened up about the “horrific” abortion experience on Instagram in response to the new abortion bill signed into law in Georgia, outlawing all abortions after six weeks: “I myself went through an emergency abortion 2 years ago. I was 4 1/2 months pregnant and shooting on location in Eastern Europe. I went into pre term labor and told that I had to be awake for the whole procedure. It was one of the most horrific experiences I have ever gone through. I still have nightmares about it. I was alone and helpless. When I think about the fact that women might have to face abortions in even worse conditions than I did because of new laws, my stomach turns.

-Ooh boy. In a since-deleted Twitter thread, the creator of How I Met Your Mother weighed in on Game of Thrones by saying the reason people want to see a redemption arc for Jamie (and why people rooted for Barney on his show) are the reason Trump is president. What?? Dude, by Sunday GoT may take over your show’s title of the worst finale ever. Just sit back and hope it happens!

Paul Rudd accepts a dangerous mission in his SNL promo.

Miley Cyrus plays a pop star in the new Black Mirror season 5 trailer. Looks like this season is only three episodes, which sounds perfect.

Nicole Kidman Talks Marriage, Motherhood and Meryl

nicole-kidman-vanity-fair

-In her 10th time covering Vanity Fair, Nicole Kidman talks about her marriage to Keith Urban (“It’s extremely simple with what we want from each other and what we want from a relationship. Just peas in a pod in that regard”), her kids with Tom Cruise (Bella is married and lives in London, Conner is in music in Miami), and how Meryl Streep slipped seamlessly into Big Little Lies’ close-knit cast (“There are no men in our equation. I mean, there are, but they’re not on the group chat, let’s put it that way. [Meryl is] and she’s very funny”).

-Early reactions to Avengers: Endgame are super positive, especially the film’s last hour which will apparently get us all up in our feels.  Box office-wise, it’s tracking at $1B worldwide ticket sales in less than a week.

Natalie Portman was a surprise guest at the Endgame premiere, leading to everyone wondering if she makes a cameo.

-The best moment of the premiere’s red carpet was when Brie Larson surprised Tessa Thompson with a kiss.

Gwyneth Paltrow couldn’t help spilling spoilers on the red carpet.

-Meanwhile, Gwyneth was spotted hanging out with ex-hubby Chris Martin‘s girlfriend, Dakota Johnson.

-It finally seems to be dawning on Lori Loughlin that she’s facing some serious jail time.

-Sources in Britney Spears’ camp are telling People that no one is forcing her to stay at her wellness facility.

Maisie Williams’ tweet about her controversial GoT scene is great.

-13 Going on 30 came out 15 years ago today. Let’s celebrate by rewatching the best awkward dance scene everJennifer Garner’s post about the film, in which she celebrates her young costars, is very sweet. I also very much like this article on why it’s a better movie than Big. “‘Chick flicks’— as some like to call romance films that center on a woman—are never ‘refreshing’ or ‘poignant.’ Chick flicks, no matter how original they are, are ‘well-worn,’ ‘formulaic’ and ‘uninspired.’ Big gets to be on the American Film Institute’s list of funniest films of all time, while 13 Going on 30 gets dubbed a guilty pleasure.”

Whitney Davis, an exec who worked at CBS for 13 years before quitting in February, wrote a column in Variety about the network’s “white problem.” And yet on the same day CBS said that they’ve suspended their search for a new CEO ’cause clearly the current exec team is top notch.

-Hurray! The Good Fight has been renewed for season 4. This current season is fire.

-Speaking of Netflix joints, Renee Zellweger cooks up an evil scheme in the trailer for Netflix’s new-noir show What/If.

Inside Kim Kardashian’s Weirdly Stark House

Kim Kardashian West is the latest celebrity to get Vogue’s 73 Questions treatment — and it’s the most extensive glimpse we’ve gotten of their weird, blank canvas-y house. How do they actually live there? There’s no furniture!

-After weeks of speculation, Wendy Williams filed for divorce from her husband of 20 years amid rumours he had a baby with his mistress.

-This is a big deal. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are breaking from tradition and avoiding the dog and pony show outside the hospital after welcoming their kid. Instead the palace says they have “taken a personal decision to keep the plans around the arrival of their baby private” and that “look forward to sharing the exciting news with everyone once they have had an opportunity to celebrate privately as a new family.”

Lori Loughlin is reportedly coming to terms with how much trouble she’s in. A source tells E!, “Lori is finally realizing just how serious this is. She is seeing the light that she will do jail time and is freaking out.”

-I wrote a Game of Thrones refresher before this weekend’s premiere and when doing some season 7 rewatching, I realized I had forgotten A LOT.

-Meanwhile, James Corden made one of his writers binge GoT in one, 67-hour sitting.

Brie Larson teaching Oprah about the French tuck is adorable. (Also adorable, Gayle saving Oprah from admitting she doesn’t know Tan from Queer Eye.)

Donald Glover and Rihanna‘s Guava Island, a music-driven, hour-long film shot largely in secret in Havana, is dropping this weekend. It’s a tropical thriller written by Glover’s brother and costaring Letitia Wright featuring Glover playing local musician character is determined to throw a festival for his island community. It’ll premiere on Coachella’s YouTube channel this weekend ahead of Glover’s headlining set, and stream for free on Amazon.

Drake‘s Euphoria starring Zendaya just got a premiere date and trailer.

-I guess people still aren’t over Theranos? Kate McKinnon will play Elizabeth Holmes in a new Hulu miniseries.

-Disney’s upcoming streaming service keeps adding new shows. The latest is a Love, Simon spinoff.

-Reading this interview with Bret Easton Ellis and seeing how Isaac Chotiner destroys him really made my day.
