–Clare Danes, Emma D’Arcy, Jennifer Garner, Jennifer Coolidge and Melanie Lynskey gathered for the THR Drama Actress Roundtable, and it was a joy! D’Arcy asked advice from the older actresses on how to still be in the world while famous, and Danes said “With photographers I found actually approaching them directly–because I used to be terrified of them–but if you just kind of say ‘Hey, do you have a shot now? Can you back off?'” while Garner put a positive spin on it: “The world of being famous, it’s really pretty beautiful. It lets you connect with people. People are so nice to me. I’m so welcomed into a conversation with just about anyone…it’s a lucky place to see the world.”
-Wow. This profile on Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan is one of the biggest self-owns in recent memory. There’s been rumours about him, but why listen to gossip when you can hear it straight from the horse’s mouth? He dismisses the idea of writers rooms, he makes sneering comments about suppport staff (“They tell me there’s a story coordinator, but I don’t know who that is”), credits Wind River for the Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act instead of the indigenous advocacy groups who fought for it, and any praise he gives his crew is overshadowed by his admission of overworking them (“I don’t really give a shit what a line producer or some physical production person thinks. I care a lot about craft services and set decorators and assistant camera operators and people that are working their asses off for way longer than I work — and I work 16 to 18 hours a day. They’re doing it for $35 an hour. I really care what they think”). The reaction to this piece has been…not great.
