Gisele Bündchen Says Media Got “Everything” Wrong about Divorce

Gisele Bündchen vanity fair

Gisele Bündchen covers Vanity Fair and says her split from Tom Brady wasn’t just about his unretirement. “Wow, people really made it about that. What’s been said is one piece of a much bigger puzzle. It’s not so black and white.”

-What a mess. Ever since Shazam! Fury of the Gods bombed at the weekend box office, Zachary Levi, Rachel Zegler, and more are trying to lay blame elsewhere — with Levi in particular pointing fingers  at Dwayne Johnson and Zack Snyder while trying to get a job on The Last of Us.

-It sounds like Amanda Bynes might have been living on the streets for several days before being placed on a psychiatric hold.

-Exes Florence Pugh and Zach Braff are commendably mess-free on the promo tour for their new movie.

-There’s been a lot of talk about how Donald Glover treats his Black female characters, and describing the protagonist of Swarm as an animal isn’t helping.

-I’m expecting to be charmed by Hulu’s musical romance Up Here starring Mae Whitman and Carlos Valdes.

-Season two of Yellowjackets is getting good reviews, as is the final season of Succession.

Matthew Macfadyen talked to the NYT about his mixed feelings about the end of Succession.

-Wow, the original story that Bambi is based on is brutal.

-I’ve read the books and am halfway through season two, and I still don’t fully understand Shadow & Bone’s Grisha rules.

Sofia Coppola‘s daughter is going viral with a hilarious TikTok.

-The final Renfield trailer shows us more of Nic Cage being a bad boss in the horror comedy.

Janelle Monáe Pays Homage in Ebony

Janelle Monáe on the cover of Ebony

-This is a really cool look at the historical significance of Janelle Monáe‘s recent Ebony photoshoot.

Gwyneth Paltrow appeared in a Park City, Utah courtroom for the start of a lawsuit that alleges she crashed into a man while skiing in Feb. 2016 and left the scene of the crash. A retired optometrist says she skied “out of control” and ran into him, causing “a brain injury, four broken ribs and other serious injuries.” (The cynical side of me wonders if she said that starvation diet nonsense a few days ago to cause a controversy that could overshadow this…but then again there really is no overshadowing this.)

-God, I love that Aubrey Plaza went to a fan convention and took photos with the casts of Charmed and Sabrina the Teenage Witch. Do you think she had to stand in the photo opp line?

Lucy Liu made an appearance on Drew Barrymore‘s show and they reminisced about nude photos that Liu took of the talk show host in her Charlie’s Angels dressing room. “I have them. I do, of course. And you look gorgeous, as you still do. And you’re so natural and, you know, playful and having a great time. I have a series of portraits of so many people — with and without clothes on, guys.”

-Well, that’s one way to announce a pregnancy. Sarah Snook showed up at the Succession premiere and showed off her baby bump.

-There was a lot of baby news at the premiere. Alexander Skarsgård confirmed on the red carpet that he recently welcomed his first child with girlfriend Tuva Novotny.

Brian Cox yelled in character at all the photographers on the red carpet and it was clearly a joke when you see the video, but Fisher Stevens was being interviewed down the carpet when it happened and you can tell he had no idea if Cox was actually yelling at someone or not. So that sounds like a fun costar.

-Also, look at his face when Jeremy Strong put his arm around him.

-At least Cox looked like he was having fun at the party, dancing with the cast to “Call Me Maybe.”

Law Roach appeared on Emily Ratajkowski‘s “High Low with EmRata” podcast and said Zendaya was surprised he hadn’t warned her he was retiring. “She calls [and] she said, ‘Girl, I thought we’d make big decisions together.’ She, of course, supported me. She’s like, ‘Do you need me to send you on a vacation? Tell me what you’re going through.’ And I, you know, talk to her about just being unhappy for a really long time and still grieving the death of my nephew … And she was like, ‘Whatever you need, whatever you need.'”

Chris Hemsworth and Elsa Pataky are getting backlash for smashing their kids’ face into his birthday cake, because people have too much time on their hands.

-This bit of Taylor Swift’s tour where it looks like she’s diving under the stage is pretty slick.

-Here’s an adorable clip of Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey dancing between takes on The Last of Us set.

-Kpop star chaeyoung was spotted wearing a shirt with a swaskita, right after being spotted in a Q shirt. So her stylist hates her, huh?

Joshua Jackson gushed about his relationship with Jodie Turner-Smith. “The most surprising thing is that it’s a lot more homey than it looks like from the outside. It’s very, very baby-oriented and family-oriented inside the house…It’s pretty spectacular, honestly. Mama does love a dress up and I don’t mind getting dressed up and standing next to her. But this having a kid thing together is pretty magical.”

-Celebrity Bake Off got extra spicy when host Prue wore a ball gag for a necklace.

-Note to self: do not breakdance at a SZA concert.

Victoria Alonso is exiting Marvel. This is big news –she was Kevin Feige‘s right hand person for over a decade.

Adam Goldberg appeared on a podcast and talked about his longterm relationship with someone who sounds like Christina Ricci, and how she broke up with him over the phone. “Six months later, she wanted back in. It was a truly masochistic act. It was all ego. In fact, she had called several times and I ignored her and bought a house and got myself really back on my feet. [But] then she left again! This time, she let me pick her up from the airport and she [broke up with me] on the way back from another job of hers. It was in traffic on the freeway. She wanted to wait until we got to the house because I knew something was up, but I was like, ‘Dude. It’s going to take me 45 minutes to get home.’ I was just like, ‘UNFUCKINGBELIEVABLE,’ but I knew it.”

-Colour me intrigued: Anne Hathaway will play a popstar who has a relationship with her fashion designer, played by Michaela Coel, in A24’s upcoming film Mother Mary.

Julia Louis-Dreyfus plays a writer who’s husband (Tobias Menzies) tells her a little white lie about her new book in Nicole Holofcener‘s new comedy You Hurt My Feelings, in theaters May 26.

Kendall Jenner Gets Fiery for Vogue

kendall jenner vogue italia

-Out of all the photos, this is a weird one to choose for Kendall Jenner‘s Vogue Italia cover.

-Meanwhile, days after being spotted kissing Kendall Jenner, Bad Bunny seemingly dissed her ex, Phoenix Suns star Devin Booker.

Emma Stone had a REALLY good time at the Taylor Swift concert. I kinda love that she’s not too cool to really get into it.

-Meanwhile, Taylor’s new tour features 44 songs and spans three hours.

Law Roach went deep with The Cut to talk about gatekeeping in fashion, and now everyone’s trying to guess which client he was supposed to dress for the Vanity Fair party who proved to be the last straw.

Vanderpump Rules’ midseason trailer features tense footage of Tom Sandoval and Ariana Madix after their split.

Gwyneth Paltrow is (deservedly) facing a lot of backlash for saying that she’s treating her long covid with a restrictive diet.

Jason Sudeikis led a press briefing today at the White House with the Ted Lasso cast — and Trent Crimm crashed it.

Sarah Snook says she wasn’t told that the new season of Succession would be the last until the final table read in January. “I was very upset. I felt a huge sense of loss, disappointment, sadness. It would’ve been nice to know at the beginning of the season.”

-Oh no: Amanda Bynes was hospitalized after a reported mental health episode.

-Here’s the first clip of Keri Russell in The Diplomat. I love her character already.

-It’s interesting to see this Shadow & Bone writer say Netflix only cares about Twitter. You’d think trending on TikTok would mean more considering the demo that show is targeting.

-Here are some Everything Everywhere All At Once bloopers.

-Meanwhile, The Daniels‘ post-Oscars project will be in the Star Wars galaxy, directing an episode of the new series with Jude Law. Get that Disney money!

-The new Shazam movie opened even lower than expected.

-After filming his new show in Nova Scotia, Chad Michael Murray is considering property there.

-I love that Parenthood’s Lauren Graham and Mae Whitman are still so tight.

-Def Leppard’s drummer Rick Allen suffered a head injury after a teenager assaulted him outside his Florida hotel.

Shailene Woodley plays a cop trying to outsmart a sniper in the trailer for To Catch a Killer.

-I’m very much looking forward to Rye Lane, a well-reviewed romcom that streams next week.
