Ben Affleck Is More Than a Meme

-This is a pretty interesting, wide-ranging interview with Ben Affleck. He talks about playing Wordle (“I was invited to join a cool little red velvet rope celebrity Wordle group. Matt [Damon]’s one of them. Jason Bateman and Bradley [Cooper], and … Actually, the first rule of Wordle is don’t talk about Wordle”), filming Justice League (“You could teach a seminar on all the reasons why this is how not to do it. Ranging from production to bad decisions to horrible personal tragedy, and just ending with the most monstrous taste in my mouth…That was the worst experience I’ve ever seen in a business which is full of some shitty experiences. It broke my heart”), how his production company gives the crew who work on their films ownership stakes (“Almost all of them are, on a weekly basis now, the highest-paid crew people in history, by a multiple”), and and how JLo encourages him to open up (“She gave me a talk this morning before this interview. She thinks that because of experiences that I’ve had, I’ve become very guarded. And she’s right”).

Azealia Banks covers Dazed and says of this latest chapter in her life: “People are always like, oh, it’s the Azealia Banks redemption arc. But who the fuck am I redeeming myself for? You should be trying to redeem yourselves for me.”

Lucy Liu is making her comic book movie debut in the new Shazam, and talked in her cover story for the Cut about starring in a superhero movie for the first time at 54 years old: “If it had happened earlier, it would have been miraculous. It would have been a different story; my career would have been easier. There would have been more opportunity.”

-Set your alarm: Taylor Swift just announced that she’s going to drop four previously unreleased songs at midnight to kick off her Eras Tour.

Paul Mescal and Andrew “Hot Priest” Scott are starring in a movie together, and everyone’s rooting for them to play lovers.

-Speaking interesting Paul Mescal costars, Banshees of Inisherin breakout star Barry Keoghan might be joining him in the Gladiator sequel.

Hilarie Burton said her One Tree Hill boss (presumably series creator Mark Schwahn) assaulted her in a car. She said he also grabbed her in front of costar Chad Michael Murray, who spoke up. “Chad walked up and goes, ‘What are you doing?’ He said that to our boss in the bar. He watched our boss grab me in front of a lot of people. Chad didn’t have anything to lose because he knew our boss hated him anyway. A lot of people had a lot to lose, and you don’t speak up when you have a lot to lose.”

-The Other Two (a hilarious, sadly underwatched show) will premiere its third season on May 4. Guest stars include Simu Liu, Fin Argus, Ann Dowd, Edie Falco, Ben Platt, Dylan O’Brien, and Lukas Gage.

-What is Rainn Wilson talking about?!

-Hateful comments are flooding Rachel Zegler‘s latest Instagram post, and I think it’s all because of this TikTok, in which an influencer says he asked her for a pic inside the Shazam premiere and she declined, and then her assistant asked him to stop sneaking photos of her. And since he’s gay and Asian, people are now calling her racist and homophobic. This feels like a stretch. Unless she was on the stage or red carpet, I think it’s ok to not want your photo taken.

Law Roach is a model now. He walked the Boss runway, but swears his retirement post was not a PR stunt.

-I’m kind of bummed that the new season of Shadow & Bones sounds overstuffed and rushed. The book series’ structure was pretty clear: the first couple focus on Alina, then the focus switches to The Crows, and then it wraps with Prince Nikolai.  But it sounds like this season tries to service all of those stories at once. Are they scared Netflix won’t give them more?

-At least the cast seems to genuinely dig each other.

-Here’s our first look at Keri Russell in Netflix’s political drama The Diplomat. Yes, please!

-Apple keeps pumping out trailers for great looking shows. The latest is Silo, starring Rebecca Ferguson, Tim Robbins, Common, David Oyelowo and Rashida Jones.

-The company behind the first smartphone meets a catastrophic demise in the trailer for Blackberry starring Jay Baruchel.
