A Hailey Bieber vs Selena Gomez Explainer

-The rumoured Hailey Bieber vs Selena Gomez feud has more twist and turns than a snake with an itch. Gomez fans are worried that Bieber posted something bullying about the singer’s eyebrows — and now they’re in turn bullying her. This is the best breakdown of it I’ve read, though if you’d prefer a video recap, try here or here.

-Meanwhile, Justin Bieber has cancelled more tour dates as he continues to focus on his health.

-Forget those rumours about his chiropractor; Shawn Mendes has been spotted with Sabrina Carpenter.

Meghan Markle appears in a reel for a latte company.

-Here’s a look at the highest-paid TV actors in the streaming era. John Krasinski, Kevin Costner, Ellen Pompeo and Mariska Hargitay top the list, with Michael Keaton, Elisabeth Moss, Jason Sudeikis and Zendaya also pull in big coin.

Jeremy Renner shared another Instagram recovery update after his snowplow accident, which shows him working out on an exercise bike.

-Congrats to Jon Hamm, who’s engaged to his former Mad Men costar, Anna Osceola.

Courteney Cox got her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and besties Jennifer Aniston and Lisa Kudrow were there to support her.

Mod Sun seemed to reference his broken engagement to Avril Lavigne in a new Instagram post, writing “In 1 week my entire life completely changed…I just know there’s a plan for it all. I’ll keep my head up + always listen to my heart, even when it feels broken đź’””

Evan Rachel Wood rejected claims that she coerced another woman into saying Marilyn Mason raped her, saying the other woman approached her first and has since been pressured to recant.

-While the supporting categories seem locked up, Oscars best-actor and best-actress races remain fiercely competitive.

-This is an excellent profile of the Daniels, with Daniel Kwan admitting that his mom doesn’t get the hype surrounding Everything Everywhere All At Once. “She was like, ‘I know people like the film, but can you explain why people love it?'”

Bella Ramsey and Storm Reid call the homophobic backlash to the Last Of Us’ most recent episode “absurd.”

Kristen Stewart is better than this dress.

-I would have never pegged Steve Harvey as a Bridgerton fan.

-People are not loving Drew Barrymore‘s Victoria Beckham campaign.

Toni Collette is an unassuming mob boss in the new Mafia Mamma trailer.

-An obsessed superfan goes on a killing spree in the trailer for Swarm, Amazon’s horror thriller from Donald Glover.

Jude Law plays Captain Hook while Yara Shahidi is Tinkerbell in the Peter Pan & Wendy trailer, which is coming straight to Disney+.

Woody Harrelson Says He’s an “Anarchist” Who Doesn’t Believe in “Forced Vaccination”

Woody Harrelson raised some eyebrows with his SNL monologue, in which he called Elon Musk “a good one” and made a joke that seemed to reveal him as anti-vax. In case there was any doubt, he clarified his comments today in a NYT profile, calling Hollywood’s covid protocols “absurd” and railing against vaccines.  “I don’t think that anybody should have the right to demand that you’re forced to do the testing, forced to wear the mask and forced to get vaccinated three years on. I’m just like, Let’s be done with this nonsense. It’s not fair to the crews. I don’t have to wear the mask. Why should they? Why should they have to be vaccinated? How’s that not up to the individual? I shouldn’t be talking about this [expletive].” He then added, “The anarchist part of me, I don’t feel that we should have forced testing, forced masking and forced vaccination. That’s not a free country. Really I’m talking about the crew. Because I can get out of wearing a mask. I can test less. I’m not in the same position they’re in, but it’s wrong. It’s three years. Stop. As an anarchist, I don’t do well with mandates.” Welp, that’s one way to promote your new movie. I’m sure his publicist and the studio are thrilled.

-At last night’s SAG Awards, Aubrey Plaza looked hilariously unhappy when her show White Lotus won. (She also had a lovely Parks & Recs reunion.)

-Meanwhile, dark and moody duo Aubrey Plaza and Jenna Ortega made the best presenter pairing at last night’s SAG Awards. Paul Mescal being incredibly nervous while presenting with Zendaya came a close second.

Jessica Chastain took a little tumble climbing up the stairs but my boy Paul came right over to help! She laughed the fall off nicely.

James Hong‘s speech at the SAGs was amazing! Here’s part 1, and here’s part 2.

-It feels like Everything Everywhere All At Once is now unstoppable heading into the Oscars. I’m not mad about it.

-Style-wise, Quinta Brunson crushed it yet again. Zendaya was also stunning.

Brad Pitt was a no-show at the SAGs after spending the weekend in Paris with girlfriend Ines de Ramon — who filed for divorce from Vampire Diaries star Paul Wesley one week earlier.

-I did NOT expect this from the guy from Abbott Elementary.

-Despite being happily married for 20 years, Emma Thompson says “romantic love is a myth.”

-I’m very happy that Steven Yeun will be getting some Marvel money.

-I also really like this trend of serious actors talking mild shit about their superhero films. While promoting the new Shazam movie, Helen Mirren said “Don’t ask me about the plot, it’s too complicated.” Meanwhile, Corey Stoll talked about playing the bad guy in the new Ant-Man: “There’s no way you can say these lines and be this giant floating head and take yourself too seriously.”

-Meanwhile, Cocaine Bear took a huge bite out of Ant Man’s box office.

-Succession is coming to an end with this upcoming fourth season. I really kind of wished it would go for five but at least they’ll be going out on a high.

-The Night Manager (which was an incredible limited series) might come back for two more seasons with Tom Hiddleston returning.

-This is a lovely tribute to Ellen Pompeo and Meredith Grey, who bowed out of Grey’s Anatomy as a series regular last week.

-Canada lost a legend. Gordon Pinsent has passed away at 92.

Paris Hilton revealed that she had an uncomfortable incident with Harvey Weinstein when she was only 19. “I went into the bathroom and then he followed me…He tried to open the door, he was hammering on the door, banging on it.'”

-It makes me so happy that While You Where Sleeping beat When Harry Met Sally in the Twitter #RomComBracket after days of narrowing films down to one winner. I watched both recently and Sleeping really holds up while Harry Met Sally…does not.

-The full Ted Lasso trailer has arrived. I’m glad I wasn’t the only one who immediately thought this at the glimpse of Roy/Keely/Jamie.

Gisele BĂĽndchen Is Red-Hot in Vogue

Gisele BĂĽndchen covers Vogue

Gisele BĂĽndchen is on the cover of Vogue Italia in an all-red Maison Valentino look — complete with red hair.

Ariana DeBose had a rough week — but at least she got to hang out on Graham Norton‘s couch with Pedro Pascal.

-I was very entertained by this profile on Ike Barinholtz, who talks about his Celebrity Jeopardy win (“A lot of characters I’ve played are, oh, I don’t want to say stupid, but I can’t imagine they would do well on Jeopardy!, right? They’re all, like, folks on the margins of society. So, I think there were people who were probably like, ‘Oh wow, that guy’s not actually a complete moron!’ But I want those people to know that I still am. Like, I constantly figure out new ways to get my keys locked in my car”), why he stays so busy (“With the business where it is, everyone has to have, like, seven different side hustles”), and cancel culture (“I think when people in comedy talk about cancel culture, what they’re mad about is being called out on their shit. And, by the way, I don’t know any comedians that are actually fucking canceled. [Dave] Chappelle just won a Grammy, Louis C.K. just sold out Madison Square Garden. Nine times out of 10, those complaining about cancel culture are just mad that someone that they’ll never meet is saying, ‘You suck'”).

Rihanna is performing at this year’s Oscars on March 12. She’ll sing the Oscar-nominated song “Lift Me Up” from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

Olivia Wilde and Harry Styles are reportedly still good friends. Sure.

-Production on Season 3 of HBO Max’s Emmy-winning comedy Hacks has paused as star Jean Smart recovers from a heart procedure. Thankfully, she says she’s recovering well.

-I am behind on Shrinking, but love this scene of Harrison Ford enthusiastically singing along to Sugar Ray.

-All four Mean Girls (Lindsay Lohan, Rachel McAdams, Amanda Seyfried, and Lacey Chabert) are reportedly interested in reprising their roles in the upcoming musical adaptation — if Paramount ponies up.

-Meanwhile, Amanda Seyfried says that Blake Lively almost played her part.

-This is a great piece on Paul Mescal, who in his short career has established himself as a very particular sort of object of longing.

-I agree with the Fug Girls’ take on all the behind the scenes photos we’re getting of the new season of And Just Like That. “But I couldn’t help but wonder: Do these dribs and drabs help or hurt? For example, how many people will watch to see what happens with Aidan, versus those who will see these leaks and conclude, ‘REALLY? This again? I’m out.'”

-Meanwhile, Sam Smith has been announced as a guest star.

Ryan Reynolds is building a 1.2 million-square-foot film studio in Markham.

Woody Harrelson overshares in his SNL promo.

Alec Baldwin pled not guilty to involuntary manslaughter in the Rust case, and waived his appearance in court.

Harvey Weinstein was sentenced to 16 more years in prison following his December 2022 conviction for sexual assault in Los Angeles. That’s on top of the 23 years the 70-year-old is already serving, so he’s likely in there for the rest of his life.

R Kelly has been sentenced to 20 years for child sex crimes, but will serve all but one of those simultaneously with his previous 30-year sentence on racketeering and sex trafficking convictions.

-The reviews for Cocaine Bear can be summed up by “dumb but fun” which is all we can hope for.

-Someone actually delves into what would happen if a bear takes cocaine.

Alan Cumming and Katie Holmes star in the Rare Objects trailer. She also directed and co-wrote the film.

Kiernan Shipka plays the daughter of two disabled parents in the Wildfire trailer.

Elizabeth Olsen and Jesse Plemons have an affair in the trailer that ends very, very badly in the trailer for HBO Max’s Love & Death.
