Oscars 2023 After-Party Fashions

The stars went hard on the Oscar red carpet so I wasn’t sure that their post-ceremony outfits could top it, but some of them really came to play at the parties, fashion-wise. It’s also where those who didn’t get an invite to the awards could steal a slice of spotlight. Here were my fave after-party looks:

Kate Hudson:
I wasn’t a huge fan of the Rodarte dress she wore at the ceremony, but I get why she saved this pink stunner for the parties. As a presenter, she would have overshadowed the nominees and risen to the top of all the best dressed lists with a bullet.

Megan Thee Stallion:
This was her first public appearance since the Tory Lanez trial and she came to slay!

Ashley Simone:
Bridgerton’s Ashley Simone is quickly turning into one of my fave fashion people, and she didn’t disappoint in this liquid blue number with an eye-popping slit.

Quinta Brunson:
The Abbott Elementary star’s stylist has been knocking it out of the park all season, and this spring-inspired frock is another winner.

Halle Bailey:
Halle was a little to perfect princess-y for my tastes in tulle D&G at the Oscars (though it fit perfectly for her Little Mermaid press kickoff), but I much prefer this metallic number she showed up in afterwards. Sister Chloe is equally stunning.

Riley Keough and Suki Waterhouse:
I have such a crush on both of these women since watching Daisy Jones & The Six. Keough leans into the show’s ’70s vibe, while Waterhouse takes the night’s rosette trend to slinky new heights.

Hailee Steinfeld:
I’m kind of in love with this. It’s like she borrowed Idris Elba’s coat from the Luther set and put it to work.

Cardi B:
Cardi goes for the drama in a veiled red number.

Jodie Turner-Smith:
She’s doing this with her hands in nearly every photo which feels awkward, but the dress (and the Joshua Jackson arm candy) make up for it.

Mindy Kaling:
This! This is what I wanted to see at the awards! I get why she picked the more statement-y Vera Wang for the Oscars red carpet (though I don’t get why she changed into an identical black one for the telecast), but this slinky number is flawless.

Yara Shahidi:
I’m almost tempted to say the gloves are too much, but if you can’t go big at the Vanity Fair party, when can you?

Hunter Schafer:
Uh, I take it back. This might be going too big.
