When the extraordinary @Daniels first called and presented their vision for this shoot — paying homage to the Japanese Tokusatsu film genre — I thought they had the wrong muse (or certainly not their first choice for this amazing honor!) How unbelievably cool are these photos?! pic.twitter.com/ye43IEllRD

-The directing duo known as Daniels of Everything Everywhere All at Once directed this W photoshoot starring Jennifer Coolidge as a sci-fi superheroine, and it’s the best mag spread I’ve seen in ages.
–Sam Smith‘s magazine shoot for Perfect is also pretty great.
–Reneé Rapp says she “hated” filming her first year of The Sex Lives Of College Girls because just like her character, she was struggling with her sexuality. “It sucked so bad, because at the time, I was in a heteronormative relationship. I hated going to work, because I was like, ‘I don’t think I’m like good enough to be here. I don’t think I can be here. I don’t think I can be doing this.’ I was like, ‘Maybe I’m just trying too hard.’ And then I would come home and I would psych myself out, literally.”
-It took me a while to figure out if I really like Idris Elba’s weird mauve suit at the Luther premiere or if I’m just blinded by his beauty, but I think I dig it!
–Dave Grohl continues to be such a solid dude.
–Chaka Khan had lots to say on a podcast about Rolling Stone putting her at no. 29 in their list of the 200 best singers. “These are blind bitches! They are blind as a motherf–king bat! They need hearing aids… These must be the children of Helen Keller!” She couldn’t believe that Mariah Carey topped her at no. 5 (“That must be payola or some s–t like that”) or Adele coming in at no. 22 (“OK, I quit”).
–Jonathan Majors getting emotional when learning about a Homeward Bound fan theory gets me.
-Majors showed up to support his Creed III costar Michael B. Jordan, who got his star on the Walk of Fame.
-I’m kind of disappointed by Chris Pine’s book list. It feels like a list made by someone who cares about looking Smart™. Like, multiple books about war? Check. A Don DeLillo book? Check. An overall bleak tone? Check. I expected more from the man who once took an erotica writing class at Berkeley.
–Pete Davidson and Chase Sui Wonders are PDAing all over Hawaii again.
–Robert De Niro is coming to TV as the lead of a new Netflix series. They also nabbed Kristen Bell for a new show.
-Is bad projection ruining the theatre experience?
-If you google “Last of Us” some weird stuff happens. Love this!
-Fresh off calling off her engagement, Avril Lavigne was spotted with Tyga at Paris Fashion Week.
-I haven’t started the Party Down revival, but I love this new oral history about the original show.
-This is a really interesting article on how it’s decided which TV shows/movies are offered for in-flight entertainement.
-The trailer for the final season of Riverdale sees the gang going back in time to 1955. I will never get over how bonkers this show got.
-Here’s the final trailer for Succession before it returns on March 26. Greg says of Logan, “It’s like if Santa Claus was a hitman.”
–Teyana Taylor fights for her son’s life in the A Thousand and One trailer.
–Rosario Dawson plays a single mom trying to fight off ghosts with the help of Owen Wilson and LaKeith Stanfield in the Haunted Mansion trailer.
