Did Katy Perry Copy An Idea for Her Music Video?

-A video director is accusing Katy Perry of ripping him off.

-That ‘Avril Lavigne is dead‘ conspiracy theory resurfaced again this weekend. It’s like it’s 2015 all over again.

-It looks like that Vogue cover is already working: Elle Fanning is the new face of L’Oréal Paris.

Drake chaperoned his cousin’s prom. More importantly, she and her date wore matching outfits!

-Ruh roh. Hackers are reportedly threatening to release an upcoming Disney movie online if they’re not paid a ransom.

-This article about how The Leftovers’ Damon Lindelof wrote an episode of the show inspired by Vulture’s TV critic left me gobsmacked and a little teary. Definitely worth reading.

Jenna Dewan-Tatum remembers the time she dated Justin Timberlake: “It’s not as salacious as everyone thinks.”

-Here’s an oral history of SNL’s epic season, made even better by a hilarious photo shoot.

-Speaking of oral histories, everyone’s talking about this juicy one about The Strokes.

-King of Arthur: Legend of the Sword could lose $150 million. This has not been a good run for white male directors.

-I haven’t watched American Gods yet, but I LOL’d at this interview with Bryan Fuller about how he demanded a gay sex scene be reshot. “I was like, ‘Okay, unless he has a 12-inch, candy-cane c*ck and can f*ck around corners, his dick’s not getting in him. So you guys need to go back and figure out where holes are.”

-It’s upfronts week, which means a ton of TV news is breaking. Fox blasted ABC’s resurrection of American Idol as “extremely fraudulent,” renewed New Girl for a shortened final season, debuted the full trailers for their X-Men show The Gifted starring Amy Acke, and The Resident with Matt Czuchry and Emily Van Camp, confirmed The X Files will return next year and cancelled Scream Queens (though 24: Legacy and Prison Break may live on).

-Speaking of cancelled shows, NBC did the unthinkable and reversed their decision about Timeless’ cancellation. It had more to do with renegotiated ownership stakes than fan outcry, but it’s still sure to give fandoms false hope for years to come.

-Speaking of fandoms, this is a good read on why the cancellation of diverse, female-friendly shows is a tough pill to stomach.

-NBC also ordered a new show starring Mae Whitman and Retta, which is already my favourite. They also debuted the new Will & Grace promo which…ok.

-No, YOU cried watching this video of the This Is Us cast surprising fans.

-Bravo greenlit a new series called All That Glitters about Anna Wintour & Tina Brown‘s rise in publishing and I want it NOW.

-In honour of upfronts, a former TV Guide and Variety writer lays out why each network sucks. Up first, Fox and NBC: “[Fox’s ratings are]  that guy with a tiny dick telling you he grows 100% if you just give him a chance (a.k.a. Live+7).”

Felicity from Arrow can sing? (I’m not sure why she’s wasting her talents on Maroon 5 covers, but still.)

Jason Bateman says he signed on for a new season of Arrested Development on Netflix, so I guess that’s a thing.

Katy Perry’s New Video Will Ruin Your Appetite

Katy Perry‘s video for “Bon Appetit” is super creepy, no?

-Congrats to Miranda Kerr, who just married Evan Spiegel.

-This is an interesting read on how Hollywood is in danger of another major hack like the Sony one. There’s reportedly been at least a half-dozen extortion attempts against Hollywood firms over the past 6 months alone and in each case, the hackers demanded less than $80,000 so the FBI advised victims to just pay the ransom.

-This was a good day for TV news. Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Fresh Off the Boat and Speechless were all renewed.

-This is cute: Busy Philipps fans are sending her money in case her pilot isn’t picked up.

-Speaking of pilots, here’s some trailers for the newest batch debuting in fall.

-The glowing Master of None reviews continue to pour in. I like the point this one made about how, unlike other Netflix shows, Aziz Ansari understands the value of breaking things up into episodes.

Chris Rock talks about how he became Aziz’s mentor. “Aziz approached me. The thing about Aziz is Aziz gets what he wants, man! He goes after it, you know what I mean? My man, just goes for it.”

-Look how happy Joshua Jackson seems. Protect Pacey at all costs!

Emily VanCamp is engaged to her Revenge costar Josh Bowman.

-I liked this article on how internet fandoms are gaming the music industry, using fan accounts on social media are finding new ways to help their favorite artists reach the top of the charts.

-So pretty much all the original cast is leaving Once Upon A Time. Why won’t ABC just let it go?

Adam Pally and Zoe Lister-Jones try some rock therapy in the Band Aid trailer.

Reese Witherspoon heads Home Again and romances a younger man in this new trailer.

-Did Marc Jacobs leak Missy Elliott’s June Elle cover last night? In any case, she looks amazing!

-A new Top of the Lake: China Girl trailer reveals who Nicole Kidman is playing.

Kelly Clarkson just joined The Voice‘s season 14 as a coach, which seems like a hilarious middle finger to the Idol reboot.

-Meanwhile, sources at Live with Kelly and Ryan are trying to shoot down rumours of a feud (already!) now that ABC is reportedly talking to Ryan Seacrest about possibly hosting its American Idol revival and Kelly Ripa reportedly (and understandably) “wants to make sure her show is Ryan’s first priority, not Idol.” How many times is ABC going to screw her over when it comes to cohosts?

-Speaking of talk shows, Steve Harvey sounds like he’s a real charmer on the set of his. A memo he sent to his staff before the new season leaked, and it includes such gems as “Do not come to my dressing room unless invited…Do not approach me while I’m in the makeup chair unless I ask to speak with you directly…I promise you I will not entertain you in the hallway, and do not attempt to walk with me. If you’re reading this, yes, I mean you.” Harvey confirmed the memo’s legitimacy and admitted he “probably should have handled it a bit differently” but refused to apologize.

-The Bachelor host Chris Harrison immediately spoofed it with his own memo to staff.

iZombie was renewed and all is right with the world. Meanwhile Timeless has been canceled by NBC. Nobody tell Leslie Jones

-The new poster for Wonder Woman drops the word “woman.” That’s swell.

-Meanwhile, Wonder Woman is tracking for a solid $65M box-office debut.

-Both Ben Affleck and the tabloids are ready for a new girlfriend.

-Master of None season two lands on Netflix tomorrow and the reviews are glowing.

-The new Twin Peaks new promo is SO good.

Naomi Watts is a bad therapist in this first trailer for Netflix’s Gypsy.
