Jay Z Apologizes for Cheating on Beyonce on New Album

-Do you ever get the feeling that we’d have no idea what’s going on in Beyonce and Jay Z‘s life if they didn’t tell us through lyrics? Jay put out his new album on Tidal last night and whoa nelly. He seemingly admits to cheating on Beyonce, talks about a “Becky,” addresses elevator-gate, calls out Kanye West, and reveals his mom is gay. Yeah, it’s a lot.

-Meanwhile, Eric Benét did not appreciate the name-drop on the album. (“You almost went Eric Benét / Let the baddest girl in the world get away / I don’t even know what else to say / Ni**a, never go Eric Benét”)

-I don’t watch Hawaii Five-0 but this is bullshit: Daniel Dae Kim and Grace Park won’t be returning for season 8, reportedly because they couldn’t get equal pay.

Shia LaBeouf doesn’t need a bathroom when the ocean is right there.

-Parks and Rec’s Natalie Morales came out on Twitter as well as Amy Poehler‘s Smart Girls website.

-I really want Amy Poehler and Will Ferrell’s new movie to be good, but the fact that they pulled critic screenings is really not a great sign.

-I fully appreciate that Selena Gomez‘s “Bad Liar” is on this list of the best songs of the year so far.

-With all the talk about Trump using the National Enquirer to go after morning show hosts, this article feels relevant again.

-Party of Five’s Neve Campbell and Scott Wolf reunited on Watch What Happens Live! and I’m living for it!

-Strange happenings are afoot in this trailer for the Duplass Brothers’ motel anthology series Room 104.

-Things go boom in the final Atomic Blonde trailer. Man, I hope this is as much fun as it looks.

Channing Tatum, Adam Driver and Daniel Craig figure out how to rob a bank in the trailer for Steven Soderbergh’s Logan Lucky.

Alison Brie Glows in Marie Claire

-Are you watching Glow on Netflix? It’s great. I was complaining last week that I needed something fun and light and not Handmaid’s Tale-y, and along came this perfect little show. Community’s Alison Brie is wonderful (and almost unrecognizable) as the lead female wrestler. I really loved this Marie Claire profile on her.  (Articles that start with the writer puking in front of the star are always good.)

-Game of Thrones’ Emilia Clarke says being a woman in Hollywood is like “dealing with racism.” Oh sweetie, no. (Also, who’s going to break the news to her than some people experience both at the same time?!)

-Netflix just announced a surprise Christmas special for the recently cancelled Sense8. Between this and Timeless’ renewal, we can no longer pretend that Twitter fan petitions don’t matter.

John Mayer doesn’t want to talk about having sex with Katy Perry. What a coincidence! We don’t want to hear about it!

-Is any famous person less qualified to launch a GOOP-style lifestyle site than Lindsay Lohan?

-God bless Gillian Anderson for speaking up on the lack of women behind the scenes on The X Files. In the wake of the news that the new season will be written entirely by men, she tweeted “And 2 out of 207 eps directed by women. I too look forward to the day when the numbers are different. #TheFutureisFemale”

Pharrell Williams, father of triplets, refuses to change diapers. He sounds swell.

-Here’s the first trailer for Marvel’s Inhumans. Those are some intense struggle wigs, guys.

Corinne Olympios says her team’s Bachelor In Paradise investigation is done, but she won’t return to the show. The show has reportedly installed a limit of two drinks per hour, and before any couple can have sex on the show, they must approach a producer and each verbally consent beforehand.

-Spider-Man: Homecoming had its premiere last night and the early reviews are pretty positive.

-Ohhh…a trailer for season two of Insecure!

-The Notorious B.I.G.’s estate threatened Kendall and Kylie Jenner with a lawsuit if they don’t put a stop to selling shirts with the legendary rapper’s image. Kendall took to Twitter to apologize.

-I really like this review of Netflix’s Gypsy and how it talks about the growing problem of “well-made bad TV.” I think it started with House of Cards.

Leighton Meester and Adam Brody say they never mention the fact that Seth Cohen and Blair Waldorf got married. So like, what do they talk about?!

Millie Bobbie Brown, Ashton Sanders, Paris Jackson and other hot young things show up in The XX’s new music video.

-I don’t know how I missed this Amy Poehler speech from a few weeks ago but I’m glad I saw it now.

-Meanwhile, this video with Amy and Will Ferrell made me giggle.

-All the celebrity #Ham4All tweets are killing me. My faves (so far) are Kristen Bell, Colin Donnell, Ben Schwartz, and Jonathan Groff.

-Watch Andrew Garfield and The Crown’s Claire Foy fall in love in the Breathe trailer.

-The new Jumanji trailer, starring The RockKevin Hart, Jack Black, and Karen Gillan, is way more Breakfast Club than I was expecting.

Rihanna has a new manHassan Jameel, a Saudi businessman whose fam has a net worth of $1.5 billion.

-Also, Rihanna is the first women in weeks to appear on the Billboard Hot 100’s Top 5.

Jason Statham and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley combined their perfect DNA and now they have a son: Jack Oscar.

Miranda Kerr handed over $8.1 million in jewelry that’s linked to a corruption case.

Steve Carell shocked and aroused the internet with these new photos of him looking like a silver fox. He didn’t even look this good after his makeover in Crazy Stupid Love! He responded to the attention by joking “My wife finally said she’s in love with me.”

Michelle Rodriguez says she’ll leave the Fast & Furious franchise if they don’t ‘show love to the Women’ in the next film.

-This sucks: The Big Bang Theory’s Johnny Galecki‘s house burned down in a massive fire.

Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck took a family vacation.

-The Pretty Little Liars writer says that finale bombshell was years in the making and they didn’t just pull it out of their ass.

-Meanwhile, the finale got killer ratings.

-Speaking of shows with a large social media following, I really like this interview with showrunners about what happens when fans help trend/promote a show and then feel ownership.

-Baby Driver did really well at the box office in the Tuesday night previews.

Shonda Rhimes says people treat her differently after she lost 150 lbs. — and she hates it.

-It’s a big day for Hamilton. Lin-Manuel Miranda has celebrities singing the soundtrack for an amazing cause, Nicole Kidman and The Beguiled kids performed “Schuyler Sisters” for #Ham4All, and there’s a new Hamilton Mixtape video with K’naan and Riz Ahmed.

-Hunt for the Wilderpeople’s Julian Dennison joins Ryan Reynolds in Deadpool 2. It’s Ricky Baker! (If you haven’t seen the movie Hunt for the Wilderpeople yet, it’s on Netflix and it’s great!)

-Hurrah! -You’re The Worst returns Sept 6.

-The first trailer for Hugh Jackman’s circus musical is here. The trailer doesn’t do much for me but the cast includes Michelle Williams, Zac Efron and Zendaya so I’ll try it.
