Jay Z’s Family Feud Video Stars Beyonce, Michael B Jordan, Jessica Chastain and More

Jay Z dropped his “Family Feud” video today, which was directed by Ava DuVernay, costars Beyonce and Blue Ivy and details his infidelity. The video includes cameos by Jessica Chastain, Mindy Kaling, Michael B Jordan, Thandie Newton, Brie Larson, Rashida Jones, Rosario Dawson, Constance Wu, Niecy Nash and David Oyelowo, but you can only watch the full thing on Tidal (for now).

Zac Efron recalls the time he cried while talking to Michael Jackson, which then in turn made Jackson cry.

-When Survivor winner Todd Herzog appeared on Dr. Phil in 2013 to talk about his addictions, his alcohol level was .263. Now he’s alleging it’s because of the vodka and Xanax supplied to him by the show. A new Boston Globe/STAT story also quotes people who were encouraged by staffers to go to L.A.’s Skid Row in order to buy heroin.

-Wait, people actually think The Last Jedi is a box office failure? In what world?!

-Oh god, Paul Reiser and Helen Hunt are circling a Mad About You revival. Stop trying to reboot things, Hollywood! (Unless it’s Happy Endings or Selfie.)

-Speaking of TV, here’s our picks for the best TV shows of 2017, ICYMI.

-Ugh, Meghan Markle‘s relatives are coming out of the woodwork in full force.

-I kind of love Ridley Scott. He’s 80, he just reshot an entire movie in 9 days, and he gives interviews in which he clearly does not give af. His chat with Vulture is refreshingly candid, and even offers an opinion of Blade Runner 2049: “It was f**king way too long. F**k me! And most of that script’s mine…I shouldn’t talk…I’m being a bitch.”

-According to critics who screened the first 5 of the 10 new episodes of The X Files, it’s still wildly inconsistent but there’s more flirting/banter and “another dazzling Darin Morgan standalone.”

Minnie Driver revealed that Harvey Weinstein wanted Ashley Judd for Good Will Hunting instead of her, telling her “You’re just not f**kable.”

-Meanwhile, according to Buzzfeed Weinstein will not go quietly.

-Also, it’s great to see these women gather to talk about life after speaking out about Weinstein, but where’s Lupita Nyong’o in all this?

John Oliver makes a good point concerning the backlash of him confronting Dustin Hoffman over sexual harassment: “It became about my questions rather than his answers.”

-Uh, so male stars are also planning to wear black to the Golden Globes to protest sexual misconduct in Hollywood? Except don’t they almost always wear black anyway? For the love of god, someone design a ribbon or something! I really hope the winners pull a Fiona Apple and use their acceptance speech to say “this world is bullshit.”

-What kind of person nabs Tatiana Maslany for their new TV show and then ends up recasting her part??! Ryan Murphy, wyd?

Will Smith got very excited over Jamie Oliver’s Christmas negroni.

-Also, Will Smith has only been on Instagram for a month but already it’s the gift that keeps on giving.

-Speaking of Smith, was Bright actually worth the $90 million Netflix spent on it? Nielsen is reporting that 11 million people watched it  over its first three days . (I’m skeptical about that number, though. On the one hand, the real figure is probably higher since Nielsen only measures people watching on actual TVs, not tablets and computers. On the other hand, “views” don’t tell the story of how many people watched ’till the end.)

-In any case, if that number is accurate it adds up to a $99 million debut at the box office — roughly what The Fate of the Furious did in April, and a win that Smith desperately needs.  (Bright’s numbers are still smaller than Stranger Things 2, which pulled in 15.8 million by Nielsen’s measure.)

-Can Lena Dunham learn from the high-profile mistakes she made in 2017?

-I really liked this list of the 50 greatest moments from this year’s movies.  As much as I had mixed feelings about Molly’s Game, the “on tilt” poker scene is a fave.

-Wait, Eartha Kitt had a threesome with Paul Newman and James Dean?!  (Also, check out this clip of Newman and Dean flirting during a screen test for East of Eden.)

-This clip of Celine Dion twirling a baton is just what I needed to bid goodbye to 2017.

-Here’s the trailer for The Open House with the kid from 13 Reasons Why. Netflix is really going all in with him, huh?

-Here’s the first trailer for Selma Blair and Nicolas CageMom and Dad, which people went NUTS for at TIFF’s Midnight Madness. It’s a horror movie in which all the parents in the world are suddenly overcome by the urge to murder their kids.

-Every Day, one of my favorite YA books of all time, is now a movie coming in Feb and I CANNOT WAIT!

Amy Schumer Talks Love and Sex Dreams

amy-schumer-marie-claire

-This Marie Claire cover is my favourite yet of Amy Schumer. In the interview, she talks about finding love (“I feel so bad for him. How exhausting it must be dating me”), dealing with her newfound fame (“I’m trying to figure out how to navigate all this”) and a recent sex dream she had about pal Jemima Kirke (“I almost told her about it. Then I thought maybe Lena would get jealous.”).

-No, Tom Hiddleston. No. You do not get to participate in the most publicity-baiting relationship/stunt for weeks and then get all flustered and perturbed when asked about it like that’s an unexpected question. ALL THE NOPES.

-Meanwhile, is Taylor Swift gunning for a couples Vogue cover? Someone send me an invite to the prayer circle!

-Also, Taylor Swift tops Forbes’ list of the highest paid celebrities — but  it was Kim Kardashian who made the mag’s cover.

Bradley Cooper and Irina Shayk‘s camps insist they were not fighting at Wimbledon. Even though they ran into his ex Suki Waterhouse. And the whole world watched this video. But nope, nothing to see here, folks.

-I’m really glad Samira Wiley‘s most memorable moment from TO’s Pride parade wasn’t the crazy girl who kept yelling “SAMIRAAAAAA!” until she waved at me. I mean her. Waved at her. The girl. Who wasn’t me.

-This is so smart: Mr Robot briefly premiered three days early on Twitter, Youtube and Snapchat. Whoever was running their social media was having a blast with it, too.

Alanis Morissette named her new baby Onyx Solace. Mmkay.

Liv Tyler also welcomed a baby girl. She named her Lula Rose, which is adorable.

Snoop Dogg on Family Feud is surprisingly delightful!

-This story about Prince being a secret computer nerd made me stupidly happy.

-Of course Katie Holmes and Jamie Foxx dined at Kasa Moto when they were here. Of course they did.

Lin-Manuel Miranda with short hair is making me feel …things.

Shonda Rhimes has no time for Italian TV’s “inexcusable” censorship of HTGAWM’s gay sex scene.

-Just in case you were worried, Kristen Stewart is still cool AF.

-She’s also gunning for a female Bond.

-Guys, the Ghostbusters movie is getting good reviews! Like really, really good reviews. Praise Baby Jebus! (And screw the haters.)

-Meanwhile, in his new Vulture profilePaul Feig says “I wanted for little girls to be able to see themselves up on the screen.” This adorable photo from the screening proves he nailed it.

-Speaking of the premiere, Leslie Jones slayed in a Pretty Woman-inspired red gown, but I also think this was the best-ever showings from Melissa McCartney and Kristen Wiig.

-Are Rihanna and Drake legit official now? They both paid tribute to a fan who passed away. And then there’s this.

-I’m actually surprised Blake Lively allowed her Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants costars to post this makeup-free pic.

-Oooh, this is such good news: Carrie Coon just signed on to be the lead in Fargo season 3.  She is basically the only reason I stuck with The Leftovers after its dismal first season, and I’m so glad I did. (Seriously, if you didn’t watch season 2, binge it ASAP.) Vulture just named her the Best TV Actress of 2106; watch the second clip embedded in that article if you want to understand why.

Simon Pegg wrote a thoughtful blog post on the decision to reveal Sulu as gay.

Gwyneth Paltrow is in Newfoundland? Please someone tell me there’s video of her being screeched in!

-THR’s full, uncensored Comedy Actress Roundtable with Ilana Glazer, Lily Tomlin, Niecy Nash, Gina Rodriguez, Allison Janney and Rachel Bloom is now online and ready for your eyeballs.

-Roadies episodes have been piling up on my DVR because even though the negative reviews aren’t making me want to watch it, I feel like I have to give Cameron Crowe joints a chance for nostalgia reasons, you know? But then I saw the Twitter/critic uproar over how a sexual assault was depicted on this week’s episode, and now I feel pretty good about deleting them all sight unseen.

-I read this entire review of Johnny Depp’s concert in my morning paper waiting for any mention of the assault allegations against him. Nada.

-Community’s Dan Harmon insists the movie part of #sixseasonsandamovie will happen.

Matt Damon multi-tasks in this new Jason Bourne clip.

Scarlett Johansson and Matthew McConaughey lend their voices to the Sing trailer.

Taylor Swift Is Dating Tom Hiddleston?!?

taylor-swift-tom-hiddleston-Holy crap, guys. The Sun has photos — and an amazing headline — of Taylor Swift and Tom Hiddleston making out on a beach!  (I have renewed Hiddleston-love after binging The Night Manager. He got the juice, ladies. We’re talking orange, apple, grape, cran.) Also, are those photos staged, or is her life just naturally this picturesque? I mean, the shot where he’s taking off his jacket to wrap around her shoulders because she looks cold? WHAT IS AIR?!?

-Meanwhile, judging by Calvin Harris‘ recent Twitter activity, he knew this was coming. That makes me like it even more.

-I am much less giddy about Ashley Olsen‘s rumoured new beau.

-Genetically blessed Blake Lively complains that she has “meaty eyelids.” That sounds super tragic. Let’s all light a candle.

-I despise bump watch. Despise  it. It’s gross and invasive and seems to always focus on the same handful of female celebs — like Jennifer Aniston, who sparked speculation with these pap pics from the Bahamas earlier this week. The only thing that made me wonder if there was something to the story was the bulky outfit she wore in NYC upon her return. But her rep quickly shot down the pregnancy rumours — and she reinforced the denial by being photographed in a tank top today.  (Is it weird that I’m glad? I texted my BFF when the InTouch cover came out and we were lamenting over the fact that she’s one of the few famous role models left for women who don’t need kids to be happy. Cameron Diaz can’t be our last hope!)

-Bless Prince William for appearing on the cover of gay magazine Attitude. Couldn’t have come at a better time.

Johnny Depp’s lawyer has asked the judge to prevent Amber Heard’s witnesses from testifying at Friday’s hearing. That’s swell.

-Vulture posted another awesome deep-dive feature on the state of TV. For this one, they spoke to 137 actors, writers, producers and execs about TV comedy. (Spoiler alert: they’re all in love with Catastrophe.)

Justin Bieber asked his fans to “petition” to shut down gossip site Hollywood Life — possibly because of their articles about Selena Gomez dating. Aw, muffin.

-Is Rachel McAdams dating a hot screenwriter?

-Did ABC really consider cutting The Real O’Neals’s episode order after Noah Galvin‘s incendiary interview? But that was, like, the first time most of us had even heard of that show.

-I can’t wait to watch the full video of THR’s comedy actress roundtable, which features Gina Rodriguez, Allison Janney, Rachel Bloom, Niecy Nash, Lily Tomlin and Ilana Glazer. Janney already wins it with this story: “I went to a bar one night and a bartender said, ‘I don’t mean to insult you, but you look just like Allison Janney.’ And I said, ‘Now tell me why would that be an insult, I’m curious.’ He said, ‘Well, you’re just a lot prettier than she is.’ And I said, ‘Well, I am her, and my drinks will be free for the rest of the evening.'”

-This article suggests Marvel could fix all its problems by re-watching Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog. Funny, that’s my life philosophy, too.

-The American Gods casting news continues to excite. Orlando Jones just joined the show.

Tom Cruise and Cobie Smulders battle baddies in the first trailer for the new Jack Reacher movie.
