Scott Eastwood Remembers Girlfriend Who Died In Car Crash

scott-eastwood-gq

Scott Eastwood covers the new issue of GQ Australia, in which he talks about losing a girlfriend to a car accident, and how his dad once punched him in the face when he was 16. And now I feel bad for Scott Eastwood. This is new.

-This is an excellent, excellent interview with Donald Glover about addressing black culture in his new show.

Sarah Paulson is joining Feud,  Ryan Murphy‘s new show based on the conflict between Joan Crawford and Bette Davis. This cast is INSANE. Jessica Lange is Crawford, Susan Sarandon is Davis, Paulson is Oscar-winner Geraldine Page, Catherine Zeta-Jones is Olivia de Havilland, and Judy Davis is gossip columnist Hedda Hopper. I mean, jesus.

-Unfortunately, Paulson‘s career winning streak continues to not translate into fashion wins.

-The Anne of Green Gables TV adaptation has been picked up by Netflix. This is awesome! Someone I know is working on the production in Toronto.

-In his new interview with the Guardian, Miles Teller tries to do some serious damage control following that douchey Esquire interview. “If I read this and you call me an asshole, I’m going to be so pissed off.”

Jennifer Lawrence and Melissa McCarthy are topping Forbes 2016 list of highest-paid actresses again.

-I’m not sure why Halle Berry, Priyanka Chopra and Jodie Foster are doing dramatic readings of Britney Spears lyrics, but I’ll take it.

John Cho will play a wine connoisseur/con artist in a new series that sounds like it was lifted directly from my dreams.

-Speaking of shows straight out of my dreams, Idris Elba is making a docuseries where he attempts to become a professional kickboxer.

Joseph Fiennes has been cast as the male lead opposite Elisabeth Moss in Hulu’s take on The Handmaids Tale. Man, this summer is all about Atwood adaptation news, huh? I’m not complaining.

-I liked this defense of Mr Robot season 2. The show definitely zigged when I expected it to zag, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing.

-I have a very limited amount of gala tickets at TIFF this year and I didn’t want to waste them on films that will premiere at other festivals first, but this new trailer for La La Land means I no longer care about that. Gorgeous!

Jenna Dewan and Channing Tatum Celebrate Step Up’s Anniversary

Jenna Dewan and Channing Tatum recreated their Step Up dance and I love them so much.

-The Making a Murderer case is back in the headlines, just in time for season 2. Brendan Dassey‘s conviction was just overturned by a federal judge and he could be out of prison in 90 days. This is HUGE.

Thomas Gibson has been officially fired from Criminal Minds after kicking a writer-producer. He released a statement, but didn’t address the incident.  Good luck finding work now, buddy.

-This open letter to Zack Snyder & the Warner Bros CEO from a former employee is a crazy good read. Quality dragging. (“It’s not just DC movies, it’s your whole slate. Jupiter Ascending. Get Hard. Hot Pursuit. Max. Vacation. Pan. Point Break. Fucking PAN, you jerk. People lost their jobs and you decided Pan was a good idea.”)

-Joel Kinnaman is glad Suicide Squad’s bad reviews lowered expectations. Well…yes. Of course he is.

-How come no one told me Kevin Hart has a rap alter ego named Chocolate Droppa?!?

-I’m not sure it helps Vin Diesel‘s case to have Tyrese in his corner.

Renée Zellweger asked people to stop talking about her face, so people just started talking about it more. It didn’t help that Hugh Grant didn’t recognize her on Watch What Happens Live.

-Holy crap. There’s a rumour that Joss Whedon will direct the Flash/Supergirl musical crossover and I’m crossing all my fingers and toes that it’s real. I still quote his Buffy musical on a weekly basis.
Katy Perry has reportedly recorded a song called “She’s So Creepy.” Your turn, Tay-Tay.

Miles Teller is sick of all the comments about his newly blond hair, saying “it nauseates me.” Being constantly critiqued for your physical appearance? Gee, that’s never happened to anyone else in Hollywood. Stay strong, you brave soldier.

Adrian Grenier having a big dick explains a lot, actually.

-Everything I’m hearing about Get Down is that it suffers from the Netflix bloat and should have been edited more. But on the plus side, Jaden Smith wore this killer jacket at its premiere.

-Find a guy who talks about you like Chris Pine talks about Ben Foster.

Mel Gibson has been granted permission to continue to withhold settlement payments to ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva over a breach of confidentiality after her 2010 Howard Stern interview. Charming. And just in time for his comeback launch.

-A new Rogue One trailer debuted last night during NBC’s Olympics coverage and revealed a whole lot more details.

Jennifer Aniston Pulled Off a Secret Wedding to Justin Theroux

-I kind of love that Jennifer Aniston managed to go against expectations and pull off a secret, low-key wedding. I mean, it’s perfect, right? This was the most anticipated nuptials in Hollywood. People were beginning to think it wouldn’t even happen. And not only did it happen, it happened on a Wednesday night when no one saw it coming. They told guests (including Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Jason Bateman, Emily Blunt, John Krasinski, Ellen DeGeneres, Will Arnett, Tobey Maguire and Jimmy Kimmel) that it was a birthday party for Justin Theroux. That’s some well-played gaming. Now can we all retire the poor, sad, lonely Jen narrative?

-Speaking of well-played gaming, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt still managed to steal some of her thunder by dropping their By The Sea trailer this morning. Oh, and it’s Angelina Jolie Pitt now, thankyouverymuch.

Miles Teller responded to that Esquire article, calling it “very misrepresenting” while his Fantastic Four costars rallied to his defense. Judging by the reviews that movie is getting, this isn’t going to be his favourite week.

Blake Lively cracked jokes while giving birth because she is a perfect human specimen of perfection, dontcha know?

Drake reunited with his Degrassi costars at the We Are Disorderly premiere and it was adorabs!

Jared Leto’s lawyer would really like everyone to stop talking about how big his client’s dick is, mm-kay?

-The director of Going Clear called out Jon Stewart for his softball Tom Cruise interview. Ok, but dude was there to promote Mission Impossible. How would that even work?

-The creator of The O.C. is developing a horror series set in an Ikea-like store. Sign me up!

-Good news, book nerds (I’m counting myself in that group): Steven Spielberg insists he’s still planning to adapt Ready Player One.

-Not so promising on the book adaptation front: Diablo Cody is having trouble getting her Sweet Valley High movie musical made and wants Jennifer Lawrence to help out.

-Yet another reason why Anna Kendrick is our fantasy BFF: she’ll borrow pricey jewelry for you.

-I feel like “James Franco will play twins in a new HBO pilot about the porn industry from The Wire’s creator” was a sentence I was always destined to type.

-In other HBO news, here’s the first trailer for Vinyl, starring Bobby Cannavale and Olivia Wilde and a whole lotta cocaine.

-Good news from the TCA tour: critics were treated to a scene from The X Files reboot. The bad news: no one seemed to like it. Apparently it was stuffed with all the show’s catchphrases and played like a parody. Gulp.

-Also at the Fox panel, they confirmed the Prison Break reboot, which happened because of all the people who rewatched it on Netflix. Oh, and they said the new show is going to ignore the fact that the main character, you know, DIED.

-Every year there’s one show that debuts at the TCAs that gets the critics all riled up. Last year, it was Stalker. This year’s winner is Wicked City. Who did our poor Chuck Bass piss off to wind up in this?

-Here’s a rundown of the shows that are creating the most buzz at the TCAs. (I’d add Rob Lowe’s The Grinder, which was paneled today and showered with Twitter love.)

-Arrow’s Felicity wears fishnets and uses a whip in this new short. I’m going to need therapy after this. Or at least this palate-cleansing video that Stephen Amell just posted from set.

-I really enjoy this video about how you probably hate CGI because you think good CGI isn’t actually CGI.

George Clooney invited Edward Norton and family to his Lake Como villa. Why am I having such a hard time picturing them as friends?

-The New Yorker is prepping an expose on TMZ and it promises to be juicy. *grabby hands*

Jake Gyllenhaal battles the elements while Keira Knightley worries in the latest trailer for Everest.
