-In the new issue of Elle, Lady Gaga talks to Oprah about her relationship with Bradley Cooper.

-This piece by Billie Lourd about her mom, Carrie Fisher, is devastatingly good. “Losing my mom is the hardest thing I’ve ever been through. I lost my best friend… And I inherited this weird, intimidating thing called her legacy.”

-I hate that Lizzo’s British Vogue cover is so blurry. I guess it’s supposed to be artistic or something, but hard pass.

-Greetings, Upper Eastsiders! Kristen Bell will return as the narrator on the new Gossip Girl reboot. xoxo!

-Speaking of Bell, I will never be able to reconcile how she and Dax Shepard are so vocal about privacy and protecting their family (as they should be!), but all of their endorsement deals revolve around spotlighting a happy family dynamic.

-Jesus. Not only is there an the increasingly loud whisper network about Jeff Goldblum, now he’s defending Woody Allen: “I think there is a presumption of innocence until proven guilty.”

-Everything old is new again: Mary-Louise Parker is set to return as Nancy Botwin in a Weeds revival. I loved the first few seasons of that show, but no.

–Donald Trump Jr. when on The View today and it turned into a total shitshow. Whoopi Goldberg ended up shutting it down.

–T.I.‘s daughter subtly responded to all the conversation about her hymen, thanking her followers for their support.

-As a refreshing counterpoint to T.I., here’s Ethan Hawke talking about his daughter’s sexuality.

–Drake is the latest celeb to get into the cannabis game: “The idea of being able to build something special in an industry that is ever-growing has been inspiring.”

–Jason Momoa tried to teach James Corden how to shoot a bow and arrow and crack an egg with a whip. It went about as well as you’d expect.

-Speaking of Momoa, he still has a job: Apple has already renewed four of its new shows: For All Mankind, See, Dickinson, and The Morning Show.

-And the next Met Costume Institute theme is… time.

-I’m a few episodes behind but I agree with this piece on how surprisingly good Stumptown is.

-Considering the lukewarm reviews the new season of Netflix’s The End of the F***ing World is getting, I’m just going to pretend it ended with last season’s perfect finale.

-This clip of Chris Evans and his brother answering questions about each other made me laugh out loud multiple times.

-I have recently started watching Bon Appetit’s Gourmet Makes before bed and what a delightful way to de-stress at the end of the day! Bless Vulture for ranking all 28 YouTube videos!

-The trailer landed for Vanessa Hudgens’s latest Netflix holiday movie and yeah, I need this pumped directly into my eyeballs.

Miley Cyrus’s Damage Control Fail

-Ugh. Miley Cyrus‘ non-apology apology for saying gay women just need to find a good man is terrible.

–Rihanna‘s $150 “visual autobiography” has been released. Yay?

-Speaking of celebs with unexpected books, Jenna Dewan talks about the end of her marriage to Channing Tatum in hers: “First and foremost I had to accept the realization this isn’t working and had moved into hurting.”

-The noose keeps tightening around Prince Andrew’s neck but he doesn’t seem to care. How privileged to you have to feel to just be able to shrug this stuff off like your teflon?

–Lizzo brought Macaulay Culkin on stage during her L.A. concert last night and it was quite adorable.

–Scarlett Johansson says isn’t going to let Michael Che anywhere near Colin Jost’s bachelor party, which seems like good planning.

–Keira Knightley revealed that she gave birth to a baby girl six weeks ago that she named Delilah.

–Ken Loach is the latest old school filmmaker to crap on Marvel movies. (At least his comments seem to be more about the current movie marketplace and what opportunities filmmakers are getting shut out of as blockbusters become the status quo, which is more understandable than the crotchety “it’s not good” refrain.)

-It’s hilarious that during the CW crossover filming, someone always seems to fall asleep during a scene. Previously it was Melissa Benoist, this year it’s Stephen Amell.

-Speaking of the CW, I’m pleasantly surprised that Batwoman is doing well in the ratings. I don’t think it’s for me, but good on female-fronted superhero shows.

–Lori Loughlin and other parents were just hit with additional charges in the college admissions scandal.

-In this clip from her new Netflix special, Jenny Slate explains football and suddenly everything makes sense.

-I get that everyone loves Kawhi, but what a weird and cringey way to promote the new Terminator movie.

-You’re damn right I’m gonna watch this Netflix holiday teen movie. I’m gonna watch it so hard.

-The final trailer for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is pretty damn good, guys. (I also enjoyed Mallory Rubin’s reaction to it.)

-Speaking of Adam Driver movies, here’s the first trailer for The Report, which I saw at TIFF and liked a lot.

-Usually the best month for magazine covers is September, but as good as last month was, the October covers are KILLING it. We have Lizzo in Elle talking about representation (“I didn’t love who I was. And the reason I didn’t love who I was is because I was told I wasn’t lovable by the media, by [people at] school, by not seeing myself in beauty ads”),  Jennifer Aniston on Instyle talking about turning 50 (“I don’t feel any different. Things aren’t shutting down in any way. I feel physically incredible. So it’s weird that it’s all of a sudden getting telegraphed in a way that’s like, ‘You look amazing for your age.’ I think we need to establish some etiquette around that dialogue and verbiage”), Tom Holland in GQ talking about Gwyneth Paltrow being confused by the MCU (“I mean, I always know what movie I’m in”), Halsey in Cosmopolitan talking about coming to terms with public perception (“I shared a lot about myself, assuming the world would be kind. And that hasn’t quite been the case”), Lupita Nyong’o in Vanity Fair talking about how her team was nervous the day of the Oscars (“Beyoncé did the trick. We danced it off, we had a good laugh, and then we sat down. You’ve got to let the oxygen in”), Harry Styles on The Face talking about wanting to act (“Music, you try and put so much of your­self into it; act­ing, you’re try­ing to total­ly dis­ap­pear in who­ev­er you’re being”), and Camila Cabello in Elle talking about her relationship with Shawn Mendes (“I don’t know; people can say whatever they want to say. -Meanwhile, Shawn and Camila were spotted last night in Toronto near Portland Variety (not by paps, but by regular folks). We’re not really a pap town until tonight when TIFF starts — and I’m pretty sure King W is his home base when he’s in town because that’s where he’s often spotted.

-Whomp whomp: Jeremy Renner has deactivated his app.

–Nicki Minaj took to Twitter today to announce she’s retiring from music to focus on starting a family.

-60 Minutes Australia is airing what seems to be a takedown of Meghan Markle, and the internet is not having it.

–Dylan Farrow has responded to Scarlett Johansson‘s defense of Woody Allen: “Scarlett has a long way to go in understanding the issue she claims to champion.”

-Stranger Things kiddo Millie Bobby Brown is getting her own beauty line and while I wish her all the best, this feels like TOO MUCH.

–Anne Hathaway is showing off her chalet-style country house for Architectural Digest.

-This Liz Phair interview is really, really good, mostly because there’s such a push and pull between her and the interviewer, especially when Ryan Adams comes up.

–Lana Del Rey is the latest musician to take to Twitter to bitch at a professional critic. What makes this suck even harder than usual is the article she’s referencing is really, really good.

–Lil Nas X’s new video is cute. I have no idea what his explanation means, but I think he’s f***ing with us. Maybe?

-The Mad About You reboot trailer doesn’t actually feature any footage from the Mad About You reboot.

-I don’t know why this video resurfaced of Ethan Hawke in a YMCA dance class, but I appreciate it.

–Dakota Fanning is defending her new film, in which she plays a British orphan raised Muslim in Ethiopia.

–Brad Pitt says Quentin Tarantino is thinking about a streaming version of Once Upon a Time in Hollywood that would expand the film into several episodes and add cut footage. “It’s a pretty arousing idea.”

-Here’s the Just Mercy trailer, starring Michael B Jordan, Jamie Foxx and Brie Larson. It’s from the guy who did Shortbus 12 and I really wanted to see it at TIFF but I just couldn’t make it work.

–Sterling K. Brown stars in the first trailer for the buzzy Waves. I chose this movie on a lark when I was picking my TIFF tickets without knowing anything about it other than I liked the director, and its since premiered at the Telluride Film Festival to rapturous reviews.
