-The first image of Kristen Stewart as Princess Diana in the upcoming film Spencer has landed. I was skeptical of her initial casting, but the resemblance is remarkable. And if anyone can play a person reluctant about their sudden fame, it’s her.

Kim Kardashian West reportedly has her divorce exit plan “ready to go.” A source tells Us Weekly: “Kim has had all of her and Kanye’s financials and properties ready to be split, it’s a very fair deal for everyone.”

-Movie theatres have had a rough go of it lately, but AMC just erased its 20220 pandemic losses — because of Reddit.  Basically, a subreddit has decided to take down hedge funds by inflating the stock of shorted companies like AMC, Gamestop, Bed Bath & Beyond, and a few others. This thread is probably the simplest explanation of what’s going on that I’ve see so far.

Christa B. Allen will be invited to the Revenge reunion after all now that organizers said they’ve changed platforms so now they no longer have a tech-based limit of four castmembers. Um, they know we all know how Zoom works at this point, right?

-Netflix says it has a new most-watched series in Bridgerton: a record 82 million households around the world tuned in in its first 28 days, making it the streamer’s biggest series ever. I still side-eye all of Netflix’s “ratings” releases, but hopefully this will usher in a bunch of romance adaptations.

-The first images from Netflix’s Shadow and Bone adaptation are here and I’m excited. I don’t usually read fantasy but a friend recommended that series and I devoured it.

-Who in the world in Lindsay Lohan‘s camp is trying to suppress the first bit of good press she’s gotten in years?!

Colin Firth and Stanley Tucci’s new film Supernova, in which they play a couple dealing with illness, is getting rave reviews.

-On the flip side, Netflix’s Malcolm & Marie, starring Zendaya and John David Washington, is not getting good reviews. “A screechy and solipsistic debate about identity politics that was made because Zendaya was bored during lockdown.”

-Top Gun: Maverick is still holding out for a summer release, which seems wildly optimistic.

Paul Bettany says Avengers: Age of Ultron director Joss Whedon “really, really wanted” Vision to have a penis in his “birth” scene. “And everyone, [Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige] and [Marvel Studios co-president Louis D’Esposito], I mean everybody was like ‘I don’t know, Joss…I mean…I’m not sure…'”

Kate Moss and her daughter walked the runway together.

Cloris Leachman has passed away at 94.

-Sloan’s Chris Murphy has been diagnosed with Bell’s palsy.

-The Bold Type will end with an abbreviated fifth and final season this year.

Selena Gomez announced she’ll be releasing a whole EP in Spanish, Revelación, on March 12.

Gary Oldman and Armie Hammer star in the trailer for Crisis, Nicholas Jarecki’s Arbitrage follow-up. The timing of this is bad on so many levels.

-In a new, frank interview with Vanity FairKate Winslet reevaluates her career choices, asking “What the fuck was I doing working with Woody Allen and Roman Polanski?” She adds: “I have to take responsibility for the fact that I worked with them both. I can’t turn back the clock. I’m grappling with those regrets but what do we have if we aren’t able to just be fucking truthful about all of it?” Well, that’s one way to kick off an awards campaign!

-I guess those reports of Trevor Noah and Minka Kelly dating were legit.

-Congrats to Leighton Meester and Adam Brody, who welcomed a new baby boy.

Lindsay Lohan is being sued for promising to write a book and taking the advance — and then not writing the book.

-Hollywood is remaking She’s All That and they’ve cast TikTok star Addison Rae. Sigh.

Jennifer Garner had the best response when a fan commented to ask whether she’s pregnant with her fourth child: “I am 48, have three healthy kids and I am not — and never will be — pregnant. Can we lay that pupper to rest. Have I gained the covid 19? Possibly. But that is another story.”

-Season 46 of SNL will premiere on October 3, and things are looking back to normal — the show will air live at 11:30 p.m. from its usual home in Studio 8H at 30 Rock.

-Wonder Woman 1984’s release date has been pushed again — this time to Christmas.  This movie isn’t coming out this year. Dune either.

-The Mariah Carey song that kicked off her feud with Jennifer Lopez will finally be released on her upcoming collection of b-sides.

-The upcoming Fresh Prince reunion will include the original Aunt Viv.

-Bless Harold Perrineau for answering all these questions about Romeo + Juliet.

Tina Fey, Rachel Dratch and Paula Pell played Jimmy Fallon’s aunts and gave everyone tips for staying in touch in quarantine.

-A viral tweet claiming Cuties sexualizes a young Black girl has led to thousands of people (and QAn*n) calling for Netflix to dump the film. But critics who’ve seen it say the movie is actually an argument about the effect of near-pornography on young girls.

-Amazon released the first look at Regina King’s directorial debut One Night in Miami, a look at the night when Cassius Clay, Malcolm X, Jim Brown, and Sam Cooke found themselves in the same room.

Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel: New Parents?

-The Daily Mail is reporting that Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel have welcomed a new baby following a “super-secret pregnancy” — and so far, there’s been no denials. If true, the timing suggests she was pregnant when those photos of him looking cozy with his costar surfaced in Nov.

-Speaking of surprising baby news, Nicki Minaj is pregnant. I love every one of her announcement photos.

Kanye West hosted the first campaign event for his bewildering presidential run over the weekend, and it was predictably messy. He broke down in tears, said his dad wanted to abort him, claimed that he and Kim Kardashian considered not having North, and said Harriet Tubman never actually freed slaves.

-People reports the Kim is “furious” he discussed North.

-A hostess at a fancy NYC restaurant posted a TikTok rating celebrities guests she’s encountered. The Hadid sisters, Beyonce and Josh Peck got 10/10 for being incredibly kind, while Kylie Jenner got 2/10 for tipping $20 on a $500 bill, and Hailey Bieber got 3.5/10 for being “not nice.” (Hailey has since tweeted an apology.)

Amber Heard gave testimony to the British High Court today that she was afraid her ex-husband Johnny Depp was going to kill her, saying “Some incidents were so severe that I was afraid he was going to kill me, either intentionally or just by losing control and going too far. He explicitly threatened to kill me many times, especially later in our relationship.”

August Alsina is milking every last drop of fame he can from his affair with Jada Pinkett Smith. He just dropped a new song entitled — you guessed it! — “Entanglements.”

-Vanity Fair’s Mo Ryan just dropped another stunner of a TV expose. She talked to 30 people who worked with Peter Lenkov, former showrunner of Hawaii Five-0, Magnum P.I., and MacGyver about alleged bullying, abuse & other serious problems they encountered. Kudos to McGyver star Lucas Till for being one of the ones to go on the record about Lenkov’s alleged bullying and body-shaming, despite what that might mean for his career. “I’ve never worked this hard in my life, and I am fine with hard work,” said Till. “But the way Peter treats people is just unacceptable. I was suicidal that first year on the show, because of the way he made me feel. But the way he’s treated the people around me—that’s just my breaking point.” Through his lawyer, Lenkov denied all allegations.

-Some are saying the only reason he was fired is because CBS knew this article was coming.

-Not surprising: Christopher Nolan‘s Tenet isn’t going to make its August release date after all. Sort of surprising: when announcing it, Warner Bros put out a press release that included 9 “off the record” paragraphs warning/scolding media about their coverage. Um,  “off the record” only exists if both parties agree to it beforehand, not if you send an unsolicited email. Secondly, nothing in a press release can be off the record — the whole point of press releases is to make a public announcement!

-I really like Princess Beatrice’s wedding dress.

-Disney+ released the trailer for Black Is King, the new Lion King-inspired “visual album”/film written and directed by Beyoncé that comes out later this month. It features cameos from Kelly Rowland, Naomi Campbell, Lupita Nyong’o, and Jay-Z.
