Megan Fox and Kourtney Kardashian Get Skimpy for SKIMS

–Megan Fox and Kourtney Kardashian are pretending to be hot for each other in their new SKIMS ads. In other news, I no longer understand the target audience for shapewear.

-Shocking and tragic: Willie Garson has passed away from pancreatic cancer at 57. He was spotted filming the Sex and the City reboot just last month. The celebrity tributes are pouring in.

–Brad Pitt is accusing Angelina Jolie of using “devious means” to try to cut him out of a lucrative real estate deal involving the posh Chateau Miraval estate they co-owned in France.

–Aaron Rodgers has responded to critics who claimed his relationship with Shailene Woodley is affecting his performance: “It’s absolute horseshit.”

–Jennifer Hough, who accused Nicki Minaj’s husband Kenneth Petty of rape, claims she was threatened with a $20k bounty on her head.

–Justin Chambers says after 15 years on the show, Grey’s Anatomy became “sort of a factory job for acting. You just clock in, clock out.” He was rumoured to be making around $375k per episode, so not exactly like a factory job though, is it?

–Nicole Richie turned 40 and celebrated by accidentally setting her hair on fire.

–Johnny Depp used his acceptance speech at the San Sebastian Film Festival to call out cancel culture. “It’s so far out of hand now that I can promise you that no one is safe. Not one of you. No one out that door. No one is safe. It takes one sentence and there’s no more ground, the carpet has been pulled. It’s not just me that this has happened to, it’s happened to a lot of people.”

–Ryan Reynolds responded in the best way possible to Gerard Butler‘s casual diss — by shouting out the ACLU and NAACP Legal Defense Fund.

-Here’s Ted Lasso’s Brett Goldstein doing a 6-minute medley of The Muppet Christmas Carol songs, just because it’s been that kind of week and I feel we all need it.

–Jason Sudeikis, Owen Wilson, Kim Kardashian and Rami Malek will be among the first hosts of SNL’s new season.

-The Prince Andrew reputation rehabilitation project has begun.

–Richard Buckley, fashion editor and designer Tom Ford‘s husband of 35 years, has died.

-Black actresses who star on CW superhero shows got together on an Instagram Live to talk about their experiences. The Flash’s Candice Patton said that the network had no idea how to deal with the racist hate coming her way, but she knew if she left the show that execs would have used that as an excuse to not cast Black women in the future.

–Kathy Hilton went into a restaurant wearing a dress and left wearing a tablecloth. I’ve never been more interested in her.

-Following years of complaints about her use of “blaccent,” Awkwafina finally addressed the matter in an interview — and didn’t really say much at all. It’s weird that she’s been so dogged by this and yet seemed totally caught off guard by the question.

-An Emmys producer found Seth Rogen‘s onstage COVID comments “deeply frustrating.”

–Daniel Craig believes the next James Bond should not be a woman — because he believes actresses should get better roles and not settle for castoffs.

–Britney Spears’ lawyer told a judge that he expects her conservatorship will be terminated “completely and inevitably” this fall, but his current top priority is removing Jamie Spears from the role of conservator of her estate. He is urging the judge to replace Jamie on Sept. 29 with someone who could handle the job on a “temporary, short-term” basis for things like her prenuptial agreement.

-Netflix’s new miniseries Maid is getting good reviews, especially Margaret Qualley’s performance as a mom who finds work cleaning houses after escaping an abusive relationship.

–Debby Ryan and Lucy Fry make an Uber driver’s night hell in the trailer for Netflix vampire action movie Night Teeth.

 

Joe Rogan Gets Covid, Takes Horse Dewormer

–Joe Rogan says he’s tested positive for covid and he’s treating himself with horse dewormer. Makes sense cause he acts like an animal. (No really though, don’t do this.) If he comes out and says this cured him — it won’t — we’re in trouble.

-This is a great profile of Tony Leung in GQ. He speaks about his coming villain period, and checking into hotels with just a book.

-There’s talk that Leung is SO good in Shang Chi, it’s almost cruel to put Simu Liu up against him.

-Following his latest custody case loss, Brad Pitt has petitioned the court for a review.

-Real Housewives of Atlanta’s Gregg Leakes, husband to NeNe, has passed away at 66 after a battle with cancer.

-Another day, another report that Kanye West is hoping to rekindle his romance with Kim Kardashian. She wouldn’t want that though, right? RIGHT?!

–Archie Panjabi is finally starting to open up about that green-screened bar scene with Julianna Margulies on The Good Wife. She doesn’t say much (“I know we had drinks at the bar…The fact that you have people interested in the show and those characters, and they’re so invested in it, you know, it’s just a testament to how great that show was”) but the fact that she’s talking about it at all is a good sign. Has an NDA expired or something? Give us the tell-all!

–Tom Holland wished Zendaya a happy birthday on Insta with this sweet photo of them.

-I have seen so many tweets this week about James Marsden deserving James Corden‘s movie musical career, and yes! (I also find it weird that after so many rumours about him, the thing that made people really seem to turn against Corden was the traffic flash mob for Cinderella.)

-Impeachment: American Crime Story is getting very mixed reviews, though everyone seems to love Beanie Feldstein as Monica Lewinsky.

-Rough day for Tom Cruise. Both Top Gun: Maverick and  Mission Impossible 7 are being delayed again.

–Paul Schrader says he was kicked out of Paul Dano’s Zoom poker club: “I got thrown out. I joined another and got thrown out of it too. It all has to do with political correctness. I never met these people, they’re images on screen. I said something that someone took offence to.”

-From Lainey’s site: “What’s interesting about Stephen [Amell] is I live in Vancouver and know a few people that worked on Arrow. I was not surprised by the airplane story.” Yup.

-CBS is overhauling the cast and premise of B Positive ahead of season 2. It’s not the first time Chuck Lorre has had to do this.

–Freida Pinto is rattled by a home invasion in the Intrusion trailer.

 

James Gunn Keeps Talking about Martin Scorsese

–James Gunn is walking back his comments about Martin Scorsese. Film Twitter remains exhausting.

-As someone whose water was cut off today because of main repairs in my ‘hood, I’m desperate for a shower. It’s making me even more confused by all these celebrities proclaiming they don’t need them. The latest is Jake Gyllenhaal: “More and more I find bathing to be less necessary, at times…But I do also think that there’s a whole world of not bathing that is also really helpful for skin maintenance, and we naturally clean ourselves.” Stars know they don’t actually have to disclose everything, right?!?

–Kim Kardashian and all 4 kids came out to support Kanye West during his Donda listening party. Meanwhile, attendees were offered the Pfizer vaccine.

-According to those at the listening party, the new album has lots of references to the end of his marriage.

–Joel Kinnaman was probably planning to celebrate the glowing reviews of The Suicide Squad, but instead the actor has filed a restraining order against his ex-hook up, model Bella Davis, who he alleges is trying to extort him by threatening to tell the media they had non-consensual sex. He claims he recorded a phone conversation in which she admits to lying.

-This is an interesting thought experiment. The days of TV shows getting renewed for 10+ seasons are certainly behind us, so what current broadcast show will be the LAST to ever hit that milestone?

–Brendan Hunt (who plays Coach Beard) says the first three episodes of this season’s Ted Lasso were meant to be watched together.

–Dave Grohl & The Foo Fighters trolled the Westboro Baptist Church protesters in Kansas by performing disco on the back of a truck.

-Is Britney Spears‘ dad trying to get her under another psychiatric hold? In new court documents, Jamie alleges that her current conservator Jodi Montgomery called him last month to say that she is concerned about his daughter’s behavior and mental health and believes she might need to be placed under a 5150 psychiatric hold. In response, her attorney told Variety: “Ms. Montgomery does have concerns about Ms. Spears’ recent behavior and overall mental health… Due to medical privacy, Ms. Montgomery cannot go into those concerns with any further detail except to say that having her father Jamie Spears continuing to serve as her Conservator instead of a neutral professional fiduciary is having a serious impact on Ms. Spears’ mental health.” The statement added, “Ms. Montgomery implores Mr. Spears to stop the attacks. It does no good; it only does harm. We all need to focus on one thing, and one thing only — the health, well-being and best interests of Britney Spears.”

-Meanwhile, Britney is very excited about her new iPad.

–Jennifer Aniston has defended her comments about removing anti-vaxxers from her weekly routine, saying it’s driven by a desire to protect other unvaccinated people. “We have to care about more than just ourselves.”

–Luis Guzmán will play Gomez Addams in the Wednesday series at Netflix, which is pretty fantastic casting.

–Kathy Griffin is home from the hospital after having half of her lung removed in her battle with cancer.

-Oh god. Multiple women sued The Price Is Right during Mike Richards’ tenure as executive producer, and their stories paint an unsavory picture of Alex Trebek’s presumptive successor.

–Diane Keaton posted a tribute to “good men” she’s worked with — and inexplicably included Mel Gibson. Oh honey, no.

-Italian fashion brand Liu Jo filed a lawsuit against Kendall Jenner, alleging she bailed on a million-dollar photoshoot last year.

–Sandra Oh‘s new Netflix show The Chair is getting good reviews. She plays an English professor whose promotion becomes a kind of curse.

-Hollywood continues to cling to IP that feels way past its prime. Yesterday was the South Park megadeal, and now comes news that the Hunger Games prequel is going ahead.

–Elle Fanning chooses choking on chicken over sex in the season two trailer for The Great, which also features a brief glimpse of Gillian Anderson.

-Here’s the first trailer for Hulu’s Dopesick series, which follows how one company triggered the worst drug epidemic in American history by hooking millions on opioids. It stars Michael Keaton, Kaitlyn Dever, Rosario Dawson and Peter Sarsgaard.
