Lana Condor Talks About Her True Love — And It’s Not Noah Centineo

-In her new Cosmo cover story, Lana Condor admits she and Noah Centineo did nothing to stop those romance rumours, despite her having a longtime live-in boyfriend. But I wonder how much that was encouraged by Netflix during TATBILB’s press tour?

-Congrats to Jennifer Lawrence, who’s reportedly engaged to art gallery rep Cooke Maroney.

–Bradley Cooper was refreshingly candid when he talked to Oprah about being “embarrassed” by his Oscar snub for Best Director. “I felt embarrassed that I didn’t do my part. I’ll work on that. I went, ‘Oh, gosh. I didn’t do my job.'”

-The Walking Dead has been renewed for Season 10, but there is a chance Danai Gurira may not return as negotiations have become more complicated since she became a superstar thanks to Black Panther. Meanwhile, Norman Reedus becomes No. 1 on the callsheet with a reported paycheck of $350,000 per episode on top of additional guarantees and advances in a deal that sources say could be worth anywhere from $50 million to $90 million. (That guy also hits the lucrative con circuit hard so he’s pretty much flush.)

In the new issue of British GQ, Armie Hammer (who might be Hollywood’s worst tweeter — discuss!) stands by his tweets that criticized celebrities’ selfie tributes to the late Stan Lee.

–Hugh Jackman accidentally restarted his fake feud with ‘total f—ing a–hole’ Ryan Reynolds.

-Avengers: Endgame might clock in at 3 hours. Dear god.

–Jennifer Lopez is performing a Motown tribute at the Grammys and people are not happy.

-I’ve been reading a bit of backlash about the third season of The Good Place and I just don’t get it. Yeah, the Earth-bound stuff wasn’t great and I’m not totally shipping Eleanor and Chidi (and I ship everyone!) but this was also the season that gave us the Jeremy Bearimy episode so I have no complaints.

-Just eat the damn pizza, Drew Barrymore.

-Here’s our first look at the Four Weddings and a Funeral reunion for Red Nose Day.

-Speaking of first looks, HBO just released a bunch of photos from Game of Thrones’ final season. I feel like I’m going to love Sansa this season.

-People’s cover story gives good press to Meghan Markle (which she can use after the trashing she’s getting in the British press — there was a headline yesterday about her being the cause of Harry’s baldness). People’s story has some new scoop, including how she leans on her faith and how everything went down with her father during the wedding.

–Ed Westwick (who was accused by three women of sexual assault but prosecutors did not pursue charges) just landed a new gig. These men are Teflon.

-EW is doing a bunch of romcom retrospectives in time for Valentine’s Day. I’m not sure anyone needs a fond look back at He’s Just Not That Into You, but I really liked this piece about Zooey Deschanel and Joseph Gordon-Levitt getting together to re-watch (500) Days of Summer 10 years later.

-Celebs are getting in on the #FuckFuckJerry action and calling on people to unfollow their accounts.

-Here’s the first trailer for The Sun Is Also a Star. This book is on my bedside table and it’s one of two (alongside The Hating Game) that I pick up whenever I’m down because I can flip to a random page and it just brings the happy. So trust me when I say I do NOT want them to screw up this movie — and this trailer has me hopeful that they won’t. Yara Shahidi looks perfect; I’m less convinced about the Riverdale guy but I’ll give him a chance.

–Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper are covering EW’s fall movie preview, in which they talk about their friendship, the day Barbra Streisand came to set of A Star Is Born, and Gaga losing her friend to cancer the day of her big performance scene: “We were supposed to shoot in, like, 30 minutes, and I left the set because her husband called me and I could hear her in the background and I just got in the car and drove. I missed her by 15 minutes and she died. I literally laid with her, with her husband, and their dog, and his son… When I came back, Bradley was so gentle with me and we got through it. I performed the song. He was like, ‘You don’t have to do it again. It’s okay.’ All I ever wanted to do was sing. I’ll never forget that day. It was really a special scene, and I’ll always remember that moment.”

-Angelina Jolie‘s team is striking back against Brad Pitt‘s claims that he’s paid her millions: “Brad was asked to assist in the expense of a new home for Angelina and the children, but instead he loaned Angelina money, for which he is charging her interest on a payment plan…A loan is not; however, child support and to represent it as such is misleading and inaccurate.”

–Madonna does not hold back when talking about the state of music today: “Everything’s so formulaic, and every song has 20 guest artists on it, and everyone sounds the same.”

–Ewan McGregor took nine months off to spend time with his kids — which sounds swell until you realize it was probably because his family imploded when he left his wife of 22 years and started dating Fargo costar Mary Elizabeth Winstead.

-Reviews are starting to come in for Crazy Rich Asians and it’s currently at 100% fresh on Rotten Tomatoes. I. CANNOT. WAIT.

–Gabrielle Union was asked to host a Crazy Rich Asians screening and she turned it down for the best possible reason, in the best possible way: “We will pay for a screening, we will support it, we will amplify it, but it should be an Asian celebrity or influencer or business person that you’re looking to and the rest of us should be amplifying that message.”

-This is a great cover story on Blackish star Yara Shahidi.

-Speaking of great cover stories, Time’s profile of Spike Lee is a bomb read.

-As the writers prep for the third season of Atlanta, Stephen Glover, Donald Glover’s younger brother and a writer and producer on the show, says that the comedy will get “weirder.” After the Teddy Perkins ep, I’m not sure how that’s possible.

-In a new interview with Hollywood Unlocked, Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta star K. Michelle talked about dating Idris Elba. When asked about their sex life, she sat up and exclaimed, “Amazing head. It was good! I remember that head!” Can she do all the interviews from now until forever?

–Beyoncé and Jay-Z are such a force to be reckoned with, South Carolina schools are letting kids out early the night of their concert.

-God, I love that Natasha Rothwell is blowing up. She’s the best thing about Insecure, a show that’s already filled with good things.

-Black women are dominating magazine covers this month. It’s about time. We need to do more than just put POC on the covers, but it’s a start.

–Ruby Rose got emotional on the Tonight Show when she discussed landing the Batwoman role on the CW. “Growing up watching TV, I never saw somebody on TV that I could identify with, let alone a superhero.”

–Joseph Gordon-Levitt is out here schooling dumb men about the real point of 500 Days of Summer.

-This is a good deep dive into the world of sketchy on set tutors in Hollywood.

–Maggie Gyllenhaal becomes overly invested in the success of a promising student in the trailer for The Kindergarten Teacher, which was a hit at Sundance and snatched up by Netflix.

–Michael Moore looks at post-Trump America in new documentary, Fahrenheit 11/9, which is coming to TIFF.

Is Ben Affleck Being Pushed Out as Batman?

–Ben Affleck‘s future as Batman in doubt, according to The Hollywood Reporter. They say Warner Bros. is looking at plans to quietly phase out Affleck’s Batman and replace him with a younger actor.

–T.J. Miller really, really needs to stop bad-mouthing his Silicon Valley costars.

-More details about Johnny Depp’s crazy spending has come out from the lawsuit, including paying $500k for storage of items like a couch he bought from the Kardashians to give to his daughter.

-The Walking Dead unveiled the trailer for the next season this afternoon at ComicCon, and everyone’s talking about the bit at the end.

–Céline Dion is modeling the most dazzling looks from this season’s couture shows for Vogue.

-I’m bummed that Netflix’s Ozark is getting bad reviews. I really want any show that features Jason Bateman and Laura Linney as married.

-Congrats to Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Tasha McCauley, who welcomed a baby boy. It’s their second kid.

–Issa Rae looks ah-maz-ing in the new issue of Complex.

-The Game Of Thrones showrunners responded to outrage surrounding their first big post-Thrones project, Confederate, in a new interview with Vulture and it’s not exactly comforting.  I really hate their ‘wait and see before you judge’ stance. The fact is, if we wait and see, that means waiting until HBO throws millions of dollars into making a first season (because they don’t work on a pilot system), marketing, etc. If this seems problematic right from the start — and it certainly does — than why not voice those concerns from the outset?

–Christopher Nolan’s Dunkirk opened really strong in previews last night.  I know I should see it but the idea of going to a war movie in the middle of summer bums me out. It’s so, so weird that they’re releasing it now.

–Jada Pinkett Smith joked that she wishes those rumours about her and Will Smith being swingers were true.

–Will Smith and Joel Edgerton are buddy cops in a supernatural world in the trailer for Bright, Netflix’s most expensive movie to date ($90 million).

–John Boyega stars in the trailer to the sequel to Guillermo del Toro‘s Pacific Rim.
