Ryan Gosling Talks About His Dreamy Family Life

-A photo of a wet Ryan Gosling is the best way to start the week, no? In his new GQ interview, he talks about Justin Trudeau, getting punched in the face by Harrison Ford, having an uncle who was also an Elvis impersonator, and his family life (“Eva’s the dream mother, and they’re dream babies, and it’s like a dream that I’m having right now. I’m dreaming it all. So I feel so lucky.”)

-Last week Brad Pitt tried to get the custody agreement docs sealed, but couldn’t because Angelina Jolie filed them publicly— so that we could all read them. In the docs, Pitt’s lawyers complain that he’s not getting the access to the kids that he was promised, while her lawyers say it’s up to the therapists’ recommendations.

Jennifer Lawrence gave one of those “I’m sorry if you were offended” non-apologies for her comments about destroying sacred Hawaiian rocks. Someone on Twitter fixed it for her.

-Suits star Patrick J. Adams married Pretty Little Liars star Troian Bellisario this weekend, and they posted pics from the whole weekend on Instagram. I usually wish that stars showed a little more discretion but I can’t help but appreciate the fact that he also documented his entire week-long bachelor party, which seemed to be organized by Chris Pine. And is that Zachary Quinto?

-It’s ridiculous to me that Emmy Rossum has to fight for equal pay on Shameless as William H. Macy. She’s always been the lead on that show — both in terms of screentime and most spotlighted character.

Madonna accepted her Billboard award with a barn-burning speech on sexism and aging. “If you’re a girl, you have to play the game. You’re allowed to be pretty and cute and sexy. But don’t act too smart. Don’t have an opinion that’s out of line with the status quo. You are allowed to be objectified by men and dress like a slut, but don’t own your sluttiness.”

-Everyone on my Twitter TL is talking about this Norwegian TV series called Skam. Sigh. I can barely keep up with stuff produced here.

-Teen Vogue got a lot of praise this weekend for their piece on how Trump is gaslighting America. But honestly, their coverage of political issues has been lit for months.

Selena Gomez landed $10 million endorsement deal with Coach. This is a good fit seeing as the people who still like Coach seem to be the under 25 set.

-I totally blanked on the fact that the Golden Globe nominations came out today. Not too many surprises and snubs IMO — but that’s mostly because I don’t think the Globe noms mean anything. In film, everyone’s talking about how Fences, Hidden Figures, Sully and Martin Scorsese’s Silence failed to earn noms in top categories. On the TV side, there was no love for The Americans, Kimmy Schmidt, Silicon Valley, and Tatiana Maslany.

-Speaking of snubs, 50 Cent is so pissed that they didn’t nominate his show Power that he threatened to quit. In other news, apparently 50 Cent is on a TV show now?

TJ Miller hosted the Critics Choice Awards last night, but didn’t mention the fact that he was arrested last week for battery after allegedly hitting a ride-share driver after an argument about Donald Trump.

-Meanwhile, the Critics Choice Awards were filled with lots of strange moments (as usual). None were stranger than when Silicon Valley won Best Comedy, and Lakeith Stanfield of Atlanta (which was also nominated in that category), jumped on stage, beating Silicon Valley’s executive producer Tom Lassally to the mic to accept the award.

Tina Fey gently roasted Trump, Breitbart, and celebrity PSAs in her thank-you speech for The Hollywood Reporter’s Sherry Lansing Award.

Leonardo DiCaprio met with Trump to try and educate the president-elect on climate change.

-THR’s list of Hollywood’s 50 Favorite Female Characters (as voted on by actors, writers and directors) is pretty damn great. I agree with a lot of their TV picks, including Buffy Summers (#3), Dana Scully (#5), Leslie Knope (#7), Felicity Smoak (#15), and  Veronica Mars (#30).

Amy Schumer got food poisoning in Paris — and she wants you to hear all the icky details.

-The Time Warner CEO admitted that DC movies aren’t great, but says they will probably continue to make them anyway. That’s swell.

Ryan Murphy‘s staff is 55-60% female and he says it’s made “the product is better. The communication on sets is better.”

-I love that the Angel cast  still hang — and even surprised Amy Acker for her birthday.

-The trailer for Spider Man Homecoming landed Friday, and Michael Keaton’s Vulture looks terrifying.

Charlize Theron is in the new Fast & Furious trailer — and yet somehow they didn’t name the film Fast & Furiosa.

-It’s Drake‘s birthday but we’re the ones getting presents! To celebrate his 30th, he announced a new album and debuted some original tracks.

-In honour of Drake‘s birthday, here are a bunch of celebrities performing a dramatic reading of “One Dance.” (This was clearly filmed during TIFF.)

-No no no! There are rumours about Demi Lovato and John Mayer hanging out. Burn it with fire!!!!

Kim Kardashian has dropped her lawsuit against Media Take Out after they apologized for claiming she faked her Paris robbery.

-Seriously guys, Justin Bieber really wants you to stop screaming at his concerts. Pretend it’s church, mm-kay?

-As if I couldn’t love Netflix’s Jessica Jones more, the second season will be directed entirely by women.

-How did I not know that Jeffrey Dean Morgan owns a candy shop with Paul Rudd?! I think I’ve had that dream!!

-Speaking of JDM, I feel kind of bad for him because he was the best part about last night’s total piece of shit episode of The Walking Dead. I’ve never seen a show that hates its audience more. Critics were also not impressed. At all. Like, really. This was probably my favourite takedown.

Emmy Rossum says her first time directing Shameless involved blocking scenes with Legos and teaching her costars how to snort cocaine. As you do…

-Well, this doesn’t bode well: George Lucas won’t be working on Indiana Jones 5.

-Hamilton fans, here’s a new Lin-Manuel Miranda song courtesy of Moana.

-Deadpool 2 has lost its director — and it sounds like Ryan Reynolds’ ego may be to blame.

-And now people are petitioning for Tarantino to direct it. What?

Tom Hanks‘ SNL monologue wasn’t great, but there were some killer skits in the ep, especially Black Jeopardy and the one about CBS’s attempt to make a prestige show.

-I’m kind of over Lip Sync Battle, but I’m here for Samira Wiley’s upcoming performance of “O.P.P.”

Kanye West is threatening to skip the Grammys if Frank Ocean isn’t nominated. I … kinda agree with him? Whoa. That feels weird.

-The lawyers for Serial’s Adnan Syed have asked the court to free him on bail.

-This might be the least attractive I’ve ever found Johnny Depp. And that’s saying something.

Imogen Poots and Michael Shannon are in a May-Dec romance in the moody new trailer for Frank & Lola.

Andrew Garfield Dons Drag for Arcade Fire

Andrew Garfield plays a guy in drag who goes from getting taunted in a small town bar to triumphantly dancing on Coachella’s main stage in Arcade Fire’s new video for “We Exist.”

-In other star-studded video news, Beyonce and Jay Z’s “Run” features Blake Lively, Sean Penn, Don Cheadle, Emmy Rossum, Jake Gyllenhaal and Rashida Jones.

Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin went to dinner on Saturday night at a place they’d be sure to be photographed, just in case you hadn’t already heard about their amicable conscious uncoupling.

Zooey Deschanel posted a makeup-free selfie on Twitter. More surprising than her lack of makeup is her lack of false eyelashes.

Cameron Diaz was spotted on a grocery run with Benji Madden, sparking rumours that they’re dating.

-The benefit of staying across the street from Brad Pitt? If you’re Matthew McConaughey, it means he’ll throw you a cold beer from his balcony.

Another trailer for the final season of True Blood is here, and things do not look good for the humans.

Avril Lavigne’s ex-husband and the former lead singer of Sum 41 nearly died from drinking and wrote a blog about it.

-The movie version of Emma Donoghhue’s Room, starring Brie Larson, just got US distribution. It’s another one of those adaptations that I’m both looking forward to and terrified of.

Salma Hayek caused a big hoopla by getting political on the world’s most restricted red carpet.

-Speaking of Cannes, Scott Speedman also walked the red carpet for his new movie. God, I’ve missed him.

George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin will reportedly wed in the fall. Plan your therapy sessions accordingly.

Lea Michele was a good little girl on Letterman, where she denied rumours of fighting with Naya Rivera.

-The new Guardians of the Galaxy teaser trailer is all about Chris Pratt‘s abs, which is always a good thing.
