–Harry Styles is the very first male cover star of US Vogue — and he does it in a dress. J’adore!

-In his new interview with Vanity Fair, Jacob Elordi praises his Euphoria co-star (and ex-girlfriend) Zendaya. “She’s a power unto herself and so talented. Such a sweetheart.”

–Taylor Swift was interviewed by Beatles icon Paul McCartney, and opened up about her relationship with Joe Alwyn, saying he understands her A-list lifestyle. “I think that in knowing him and being in the relationship I am in now, I have definitely made decisions that have made my life feel more like a real life and less like just a storyline to be commented on in tabloids. Whether that’s deciding where to live, who to hang out with, when to not take a picture—the idea of privacy feels so strange to try to explain, but it’s really just trying to find bits of normalcy.”

–Melissa McCarthy (though more likely her networks’ publicist) accidentally promoted a charity that has ties to homophobic and anti-abortion policies and apologized. “There’s no other way to say it,” she said in an Instagram video. “We blew it. We made a mistake and we backed a charity that upon proper vetting stands for everything that we do not.”

-During a recent interview, Kate Mara says Heath Ledger looked out for her on the set of Brokeback Mountain. “I was 19, he was only a few years older than me, yeah, it was pretty crazy, but he was the sweetest thing…he really took me under his wing because I hadn’t worked that much.”

–Will Smith gets teary-eyed in the new Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air reunion trailer.

-I can’t believe Grey’s Anatomy pulled off that surprise cameo last night (don’t click if you don’t want to be spoiled). Ellen Pompeo says she came up with the idea while she was hiking with said person in Malibu.

–Amber Heard has thrown water on the rumors that she won’t reprise her role of Mera in Aquaman 2. She said she’s “so excited” to film it sometime in 2021, and shot down “paid” online efforts to have her booted from the sequel.

-The cast of The Matrix 4 broke quarantine protocols in Berlin and threw a party. I expect better from Keanu.

–Ellen Degeneres has released the Fall edition of her “Be Kind” subscription box. So people are still believing the kind thing, huh?

–Dolly Parton talked to Oprah about getting older and the miracle of plastic surgery. “I don’t think about my life in terms of numbers. First of all, I ain’t never gonna be old because I ain’t got time to be old. I can’t stop long enough to grow old.”

-TMZ emailed the Secret Service about Eminem’s Trump lyrics, which kicked off an investigation into the rapper.

–Billie Eilish’s new video makes me miss the mall.

-In the trailer for Lifetime’s The Christmas Setup, Fran Drescher stars as a mom who tries to matchmake her gay son. This is the kind of holiday movie I can get behind. It stars Arrow’s Ben Lewis and his real-life husband Blake Lee.

Jennifer Aniston’s Latest Role: Firefighter

–Jennifer Aniston proved she’s handy with a fire extinguisher when a bit got more dangerous than expected. Emmy head writer Molly McNearney, who’s married to Jimmy Kimmel, said the fire was supposed to go out immediately. “That was very scary, by the way. I may have grabbed some arms [backstage] to hold them back. Which is kind of crazy, ‘let my husband burn!’ But I didn’t want people rushing out. I knew that they would figure it out.”

–McNearney also explained how Courteney Cox and Lisa Kudrow were celebrating the Emmys inside Jennifer Aniston’s house: “Those women have been in a pod for a long time. And they’ve been testing every day.” Must be nice. Part of me wanted them to mention that so the audience would know it’s not ok to be having indoor parties, but the other part of me is glad they didn’t because all the people who are struggling to get tested in the US would probably not feel great knowing that the rich and famous are doing it daily preventatively.

-As for the actual show, I kind of loved it? They made the best of the hand they were dealt, and it was fast-moving ceremony with very few objectional wins. (I only wish they’d varied the category order like they usually do so all the Schitt’s Creek wins weren’t back-to-back.)

-Despite there being no in-person Emmy ceremony, many stars made bold style choices – whether that meant red carpet-ready gowns or comfy pajamas.

-It’s hilarious to me that so many Zendaya fans are angry about headlines calling her win an “upset” because they don’t understand that “upset” can mean unpredicted and surprising, not necessarily that people were upset about it.

-Congrats to Penn Badgley and Domino Kirke, who welcomed their first child. Is this the first celebrity baby announcement to involve placenta art?

-BTS broke NPR’s Tiny Desk record for the most YouTube views by a video on its first day … in about 25 minutes.

-I love Legends of Tomorrow and was really hoping it’d be the only CW show without messiness, but leads star Caity Lotz had to go and screw that up by acknowledging RGB’s death by tweeting “I love the people who will vote for Biden, and I love the people who will vote for Trump.” Not only is it no time for bothsides-ism, but it’s especially galling coming from someone who plays an LGBTQ character.

–Ellen DeGeneres addressed those multiple reports about a “toxic” work culture when the daytime program returned today, but she mostly distanced herself from any wrongdoing “I learned that things happened here that never should have happened.” She did add: “The truth is, I am that person that you see on TV. I am also a lot of other things. Sometimes I get sad, I get mad, I get anxious, I get frustrated, I get impatient — and I am working on all of that.”

–Jessica Mulroney called Meghan Markle her “kindest friend” in a since-deleted social post.

-Meanwhile, their friendship in the news again because the Daily Mail’s latest defense in their lawsuit is to claim Markle asked Mulroney to act as a “PR agent” on her behalf to “influence” press coverage. The Mail is also claiming the Duchess cooperated in the new Finding Freedom book, which refers to her father’s letter that’s at the heart of the lawsuit.

–Lori Loughlin was allowed to pick her prison, and it sounds more like a wellness retreat.

–This interview with Stanley Tucci and Colin Firth about their 20-year friendship and their new movie, in which they play a couple, is a delight!

-Despite it being a stripped down film festival, TIFF still managed to generate some big deals — mostly from Netflix, which shelled out huge for Halle Berry‘s MMA movie Bruised, the Zendaya-John David Washington quarantine-shot Malcolm & Marie and the Vanessa Kirby film Pieces of a Woman (which features a 23-minute one-shot of a home birth that’s going to haunt me for a long time).

-While Paris Hilton is getting lots of praise for her new documentary, Jezebel reminds us that she still hasn’t addressed her frequent and casual use of the n-word. Some of the quotes in this article are insane.

-I did a Zoom call with Tatiana Maslany on Friday and she said she’s NOT doing She-Hulk. I assume she’s under a gag order until Marvel officially announces it, but it was weird.

-Speaking of Marvel, the new trailer for WandaVision is kind of great?

-In a new interview with New York Magazine, Mariah Carey reveals “My All” and “The Roof” were about her brief fling with Derek Jeter, talks about how ex Eminem doesn’t make it into her memoir (“If somebody or something didn’t pertain to the actual meaning of Mariah Carey, as is the title, then they aren’t in the book”), and recalls that infamous moment when Ellen Degeneres forced her to reveal her pregnancy before she was ready and she miscarried soon after (“I was extremely uncomfortable with that moment is all I can say. And I really have had a hard time grappling with the aftermath”). My fave bit is when she chides an assistant for putting out candles during the interview (“Oh, darling. Don’t put that down there for me, because that is hideous. That is underlighting!”)

-Singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran announced that he and his wife Cherry Seaborn had welcomed a baby girl last week named Lyra Antarctica Seaborn Sheeran. “We are on cloud nine over here. I’ll see you when it’s time to come back.”

-The late Chadwick Boseman posthumously covers People magazine.

-Meanwhile, I knew Michael B Jordan’s tribute to Boseman was going to gut me, and it did.

-Here’s video of Marvel stars remembering Boseman, which aired on ABC after Sunday’s showing of Black Panther.

–Trevor Noah and Friday Night Lights actress Minka Kelly are dating, and a source tells People “it’s very serious.” I can see them together.

-Wow. I can’t handle horror, plus I’m not going to the movies again anytime this century but I was hoping Antebellum would get good reviews for Janelle Monáe‘s sake. That is not happening.

-Speaking of not being able to imagine being in a movie theatre, it’s wild to me that the Venice Film Festival kicks off this week and stars have started to arrive.

–Lana Condor and Noah Centineo, who are doing reshoots for the third To All The Boys movie in Vancouver, were spotted heading to dinner together yesterday. Good mask usage!
