Drake Shows Off His Mansion

–Drake opened the doors to his Toronto mansion to Architectural Digest, and Twitter has been (deservedly) mocking his decor all day. It’s an over-the-top monstrosity. I know there’s no way he could have known this issue would come out while the world is on fire, but there’s an extra level of grossness to his house’s ludicrous opulence when so many people are struggling.

–Tyler Perry picked up the tab for all seniors’ groceries at 44 Atlanta-area Kroger stores.

-This viral Twitter thread that shows the audience reaction to Avengers: End Game on opening night made me really miss going to the movies.

–Rosie O’Donnell confirmed that she won’t be back on The View while Whoopi Goldberg is host. She told Howard Stern, “She was mean to me on live TV. When people ask what happened I say go back and watch it. It’s not like, a mystery. Watch the way it went down. I don’t need to say anything.”

-If you’re all up in your Schitt’s Creek feels today, this EW video of Dan Levy and Noah Reid picking wedding cakes should help.

-A bunch of Schitt’s Creek cast members watched last night’s finale over Zoom. The episode was the show’s highest rated ever.

-I have yet to watch the finale because I’m still a few episodes behind, so my weepfest will probably not occur until this weekend. But the reviews for last night’s episode are glowing. Also, the cast has raised over $200k for food banks in the past week.

–Jessica Chastain‘s social media presence remains bonkers.

–Jennifer Lopez’s new charity show is apparently feel-good fluff.  She needs the good PR after going to a gym last week.

-A bunch of of actors who have played doctors on TV — including Sandra Oh, Patrick Dempsey, Olivia Wilde, Neil Patrick Harris, Kal Penn, Zach Braff, Donald Faison, Edie Falco, Julianna Margulies, Moira Tierney, Edie Falco, and Jennifer Garner — shot a video thanking healthcare workers for their efforts.

–This is a really good point: despite everyone talking about all the shows they’re rewatching or marathoning while self-isolating, no one seems to be talking about Game of Thrones. No one.

–Janelle Monae takes over as the series lead in Homecoming’s season 2 trailer.

–Tigertail drops on on Netflix this Friday and it’s getting great reviews.

Lady Gaga’s Stupid Love

-It’s a good week for new music videos. First there was Taylor Swift’s, then BTS’, and now Lady Gaga’s.

-AP interviewed The Way Back’s director Gavin O’Connor and star Ben Affleck, and they talked about how the actor had a breakdown when his character tries to make amends with his estranged wife. ” Said O’Connor: “It was probably the second take, Ben just had a breakdown. I’m getting chills thinking about it. It was like the dam broke and everything came out. I just remember the crew, everyone was frozen, watching him bear his soul. It was obviously real. A lot of things that he probably had to say in his own life, or maybe he had said, I don’t know.” The longer this press tour chugs along, the more I hope Affleck cleared all this talk with Jennifer Garner.

-Wow, this is a surprise: America Ferrera is leaving NBC’s Superstore.

-Speaking of surprising TV news, it looks like Netflix is getting ready to renew Lucifer.

–Normani‘s very considered comments in Rolling Stone on Camila Cabello‘s racist posts are worth your time.

–Dan Levy‘s Twitter exchanges with Mariah Carey never fail to delight.

-I can’t imagine ever watching a CBS medical drama, but good for Sophia Bush for landing the lead role.

-Yikes, it sounds like Grey’s Anatomy is really whiffing their latest departure. The show will say goodbye to Alex Karev next week — without an appearance from Justin Chambers himself. I’m so curious about what the bts story is here.

–Prince Harry joined Jon Bon Jovi and members of a military veterans’ choir at Abbey Road Studios to record a song for Invictus.

-Last night on Fallon, Bad Bunny wore a skirt and a sweater that read “they killed Alexa, not a man with a skirt.” Alexa was transgender woman in Puerto Rico who was killed and her murder was posted on social media.

–Elizabeth Warren‘s Hometown Hospitality segment with Stephen Colbert is excellent.

-Holy moly, Nancy Meyers wrote a Modern Love column about attending weddings with her ex-husband. This is the romcom-y drabble I needed to head into the weekend!

Ana de Armas Gets Her Turn

-I was actually surprised by the lack of coverage Ana de Armas was getting after her scene-stealing performance in Knives Out, so it’s great to see her land a Vanity Fair cover story. (Written by Sloane Crosley, no less!)

-In her new Variety cover story, Kerry Washington talks steering her own career after Scandal, and tackling the challenge of Little Fires Everywhere.

-If you can ignore the weird flourishes from the author, this is a good NYT interview with Ben Affleck on his struggle to stay sober.

–Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are skipping Prince Andrew’s 60th birthday party on February 19, citing “commitments.” Is it because they’re committed to not celebrating a possible sex offender?

–Justin Bieber got emotional while talking about protecting Billie Eilish. She posted the video on IG, with images of her old bedroom adorned with his posters.

-Meanwhile, Billie says she’s stopped reading comments on her social posts because they were “ruining” her life. Smart cookie.

–Britney Spears‘ Womanizer video from 2008 is suddenly and inexplicably one of YouTube’s most viewed videos — and no one knows why.

-This is a good piece on how The Flash hired its first black showrunner in season six, and it’s finally acknowledging that Iris is black. “I feel more comfortable bringing up concerns that I have, and I feel like those concerns are received and listened to a little differently,” Candice Patton says, adding that she’s addressed longstanding issues like the way in which her skin was lit during scenes or having access to artists equipped to style her hair and do her makeup.

-I tend to not love celeb couple ads, but Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze Jr‘s Cascade commercial is very cute and I want them to have all the success in the world so let’s just allow it.

–Dwayne Wade was on GMA today and talked about daughter Zaya: “I knew that I had to check myself. I have been a person in the locker room who has been part of the conversation that has said the wrong phrases and wrong words…As I got older and watched my daughter grow, I had to go look at myself in the mirror and say: Who are you?”

–Jameela Jamil‘s boyfriend James Blake has jumped to her defense.

–Stephanie Beatriz cried while meeting Dan Levy on Kelly Clarkson’s talk show, and praised his impact on the queer community. Then he praised hers. Then everyone was crying and it was all very adorable.

-I haven’t really loved Vanity Fair’s Lie Detector test segments because most of the questions are such softballs but the Noah Centineo and Lana Condor one is actually great — mostly because they lie.

-First Alison Brie alluded to it on Reddit, and now Yvette Nicole Brown is hinting at a Community movie on Twitter.

-We’re already talking about next year’s possible Oscar contenders? Settle down, Hollywood.

–Jessie J and Channing Tatum having impromptu dance parties to Sam Smith songs is very cute.

-Congrats to Patti Murin and Colin Donnell, who are expecting their first kid. I love them both even though I don’t think I watch anything they’re actually in.

-The Fug Girls have written a follow up to The Royal We and why are they starting the promo tour so early when it doesn’t come out until July? The wait is going to be torture.

-Pete Davidson plays a grown ass man who hangs out with a 16-year-old kid in the trailer for Big Time Adolescence.

-Here’s the trailer for the Apple+ revival of Steven Spielberg‘s anthology series Amazing Stories.

–Domhnall Gleeson and Merritt Weaver escape their lives in the first trailer for HBO’s Run, produced by Fleabag’s Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Vicky Jones. Weaver plays a woman living a humdrum existence who one day gets a text from an old flame inviting her to fulfill a youthful pact.

–Mae Martin created and stars in Netflix’s Feel Good, a semi-autobiographical exploration of love, addiction, and sexuality that critics are loving.
