Stars Shine the Spotlight On Their Stylists

Julia Roberts Stylist THR

-I always adore the stylist issue of The Hollywood Reporter. Julia Roberts, Emily Blunt, Regina King, Idris Elba and more joined their stylists to discuss their work.

-The Global Talent issue of Vogue features Scarlett Johansson, Doona Bae, Deepika Padukone, Lea Seydoux, Elizabeth Debicki and more on the covers.

Chance the Rapper is having a big week. Days after getting married, he announced he and his new wife are expecting another baby.

-It was Shazam day in Toronto (where the film was shot). The cast met fans at Yonge-Dundas Square before tonight’s screening.

-Meanwhile, the new trailer includes some Aquaman shade.

-Speaking of superhero trailers, the new Avengers: Endgame trailer dropped this morning and when Captain Marvel appeared I made a noise I’ve never made before. It’s that good.

-Also, Marvel fixed the new Endgame poster after fans complained that Danai Gurira‘s name was left off.

Ben Affleck appeared on Ellen and finally admitted that his full back tattoo is not a myth.

Colin Farrell was also on the show, where he and Ellen dressed up audience members as clowns. I love that he commented what “good huggers” they are. *swoon*

Mark Ruffalo talked about those Noah Centineo comparisons on Fallon: “He’s way better looking than I was. Are you kidding me? I wish I looked like that.”

-Netflix cancelled One Day at a Time, which is bad enough considering how much money they’re throwing at everything else. But the fact that they tried to blame viewership numbers (which they didn’t release) and then sent a tweet that seemed to plead for sympathy pissed a lot of people off. It’s been a while since I’ve seen so many TV critics this riled up.

-Hallmark has fired Lori Loughlin from all future projects following her involvement in the college scam scandal. She starred on series When Calls the Heart and in the Garage Sale Mystery series of TV movies.

-After reading this article, I really want to go to karaoke with Christine Baranski: “If I want to have the ultimate high, it would be Diana Ross singing ‘Ain’t No Mountain High Enough.’ That key change.”

-Well, this is depressing. Gwyneth Paltrow has a larger influence on what Canadians eat than our own food guide.

-In a new interview, Charlie Hunnam and Garrett Hedlund talk about my favourite paparazzi photos of all time. “We were photographed wrestling in our Speedos on the beach in Hawaii, which is unfortunate. It just, like, became a thing.”

-SNL’s Aidy Bryant ships costar Pete Davidson with Kate Beckinsale.

-Wayne’s World director Penelope Spheeris talked about why she quit the industry in a new interview: “Hollywood is a lonely, lonely desert, especially as a woman…I don’t need them. I really don’t. Especially now, what am I going to do? Work for a year on a movie and make $50,000? They can blow me! That’s a quote. You can print that.”

Taylor Schilling has to deal with her juggalo-loving neice and her nosy neighbor Kate McKinnon in the Family trailer.

Chance the Rapper Walks It Back

Chance the Rapper apologized (quite well, too!) for that Kanye West-supporting tweet.

-We don’t deserve John Legend, who tried to talk Kanye off the ledge.  “And since you’re posting texts, let me add that I have a new single out haha.”

-Welp! Miranda Lambert‘s new boyfriend/hookup situation is redefining messy.

-This is a really smart way to build buzz for Stranger Things 2.

Kim Kardashian talked about Tristan Thompson’s cheating scandal on Ellen: “I don’t even know how to describe it besides it’s just so f**ked up. We really were rooting for Khloe and we still are, she’s so strong and she’s doing the best that she can.”

Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds continue to be delightful together.

-A new report says Ann Curry warned NBC of a sex harassment claim against Matt Lauer.

-Meanwhile, Lauer broke his silence  to defend himself against the report (“I fully acknowledge that I acted inappropriately as a husband, father and principal at NBC” ) and Tom Brokaw was NOT happy to be dragged into it (“I was ambushed and then perp walked across the pages of The Washington Post and Variety as an avatar of male misogyny, taken to the guillotine and stripped of any honor and achievement I had earned in more than a half century of journalism and citizenship”).

Justin Bieber paid a surprise visit to the Stratford, Ont. museum exhibit — on himself.

-Not surprisingly, Avengers: Infinity War’s box office is already breaking records.

-The Infinity War cast joined a tour bus and sang their own version of “We Are The World” for James Corden.

Did Drake Land That Rihanna Kiss?

-My BFF has examined the Drake/Rihanna VMAs kiss from several angles posted on Snapchat and insists they actually kissed and there was no curve. In any case, Drake posted a cute pic of them last night (possibly taken from their TO aquarium date earlier this summer?), and reportedly didn’t leave her side at the afterparty.

-Besides completely owning the VMAsBeyonce also brought some mothers of gun violence to the red carpet.

Chance the Rapper reacted to getting a surprise hug from Bey exactly like the rest of us would.

-At least Taylor Swift had a decent excuse to skip out on the VMAs: jury duty.

-I didn’t watch The Night Of finale yet, but critics are super divided on it. Some loved it, others really, really didn’t.

-I also didn’t watch the Roadies finale because I couldn’t make it through the first episode, but Vulture makes a good case for why that show would have worked better as a movie.

Justin Bieber isn’t back on Instagram; he just posted something by “accident.” As you do…

-This is brilliant: Comedy Central’s Rob Lowe roast turned into a harsh roast of Ann Coulter.

Eric Andre clearly does not understand Nardwuar or his interviewing style. “I feel like I’m talking but you’re not listening and I feel very vulnerable right now.”

-Sadness: Gene Wilder has died.

Jerry Seinfeld went on a podcast and said that he was ripped off by Friends (“our show with better-looking people”) and Big Bang Theory. I…don’t think that’s a thing.

-This is a great article on the shameful trolling of Leslie Jones.

Guy Pearce and Carice Van Houten (the red lady on Game of Thrones) just welcomed a baby boy they’ve called Monte.

-This is shaping up to be one of the most wide-open Oscar seasons in years.

-I love this: Bad Moms on the verge of joining the $100M club and  is going to outgross Independence Day: Resurgence domestically soon.

-I forgot about all those stories of Balthazar Getty being insufferable on the set of Brothers and Sisters until I read this obnoxious profile.

-The cast of The Handmaid’s Tale just keeps getting better. Chuck’s Yvonne Strahovski has joined Elisabeth Moss and Samira Wiley in the Hulu series.

-In other intriguing casting news, Alison Brie will star in Netflix’s ’80s lady-wrestling series G.L.O.W. from OITNB creator Jenji Kohan.

-There’s a new (NSFW) trailer for HBO’s Westworld.

-I love that in interviews, John Krasinski doesn’t shy away from talking about The Office and instead is always expressing his gratitude for being a part of it. (Well, except for last year when he walked by us at the Sicario screening and Nicole blurted “Hey, it’s Jim Halpert!” into his face. He clearly didn’t appreciate that. But that seemed like an exception.)

-According to Ben Affleck‘s latest Twitter tease, Deathstroke will appear in the Justice League movie.

-You’re The Worst is returning this week, which means we get to watch the adorable cast doing adorable promo stuff.

-Netflix’s new Luke Cage teaser asks you to believe the hype.

-Marvel released the Comic Con featurette about what Thor was up to during Civil War, and it’s pretty damn great.
