–SZA interviewed Doja Cat for V Magazine. The interview is good but the photos freak me out…

–A new clip from Meghan Markle‘s chat with Oprah has been released and it focuses on why she’s “ready to talk” now. When asked why she turned down Oprah’s interview request during her engagement, she said, “We’re on the other side of a lot of life experience that’s happened. We have the ability to make our own choices in a way that I couldn’t have said ‘yes’ to [earlier]. That wasn’t my choice to make.” She added, “As an adult who lived a really independent life to then go into this construct that is different than I think what people imagine it to be, it’s really liberating to be able to have the right and the privilege in some ways to be able to say, ‘Yes, I’m ready to talk,’ to be able to just make a choice on your own, and to be able to just speak for yourself.”

-Meanwhile, the creator of Suits and her costar Patrick J Adams have jumped to Markle’s defense.

–Lil Nas X just delivered the ultimate “This you?” After Tekashi 6ix9ine posted a homophobic joke, Nas X responded with screenshots of Tekashi sliding into his DMs.

-This is why I can’t commit to any more shows on The CW. Despite debuting to great ratings and already being renewed, Superman & Lois will going on hiatus after its 4th episode — and not come back until the middle of MAY.

–Seth Rogen weighed in after his mom tweeted about the orgasms on Bridgerton.

–Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively donated $250,000 to address the need to end educational and employment gaps between Indigenous and non-Indigenous people in Canada.

-Pose will end with a shortened season 3. “We got to tell the exact story we wanted, as we wanted to tell it, and I’m incredibly honored and grateful,” Ryan Murphy said.

-I already adore The Good Fight — and now Mandy Patinkin has joined the cast!

-I haven’t watched the WandaVision finale yet, but I like this piece on how its weekly release schedule created a deeper relationship between the audience and the show. It feels like the first “watercooler show” since Game of Thrones.

–Gigi Hadid returned to the runway after her pregnancy for Versace.

-Entertainment Weekly has the first official images from Space Jam: A New Legacy — and men on the internet got mad because the animated character Lola Bunny no longer has big boobs. Sigh.

–Cristin Milioti stars in the trailer for HBO Max’s new dramedy series Made For Love.

Batwoman’s Ruby Rose Leaves Show

 

-Batwoman’s Ruby Rose just quit the show! The CW superhero series will continue with a recast lead. I can’t remember another instance of a lead actor peacing out so early in a show’s run. There is definitely a story there…

-In her new Vanity Fair cover story, Janelle Monáe talks about taking over the lead of Amazon’s Homecoming, starring in the upcoming thriller Antebellum, her frustrations with how the government is handling the pandemic, and surviving isolation with her housemates “The Quaranteenagers.”

-Congrats to Rooney Mara and Joaquin Phoenix, who are reportedly expecting their first child.

-On his podcast, Brian Austin Green confirmed his separation from Megan Fox, saying he noticed she began acting distant after she came back from shooting a film last Thanksgiving. “She said, ‘You know what, I realized while I was out of the country working alone that I feel more like myself and I liked myself better during that experience. And I think that’s something that might be worth trying for me.’ I was upset about it, but I can’t be upset at her, and I wasn’t upset at her because she didn’t ask to feel that way.” He also addressed the rumors that the actress is now dating Machine Gun Kelly, saying: “She met this guy Colson on set on this film she’s working on. Goes by Machine Gun Kelly — I’ve never met him but you know, Megan and I have talked about him and they’re friends at this point.” Meanwhile, Us Weekly is reporting that they’re more than friends.

-It looks like the infamous Snyder Cut is upon us. I have never really enjoyed a Zach Snyder movie so I sure the hell have no desire to watch a 3.5 hour one, but fanboys are gonna fanboy.

–Harry Styles enjoys a pre-pandemic day at the beach with models in the “Watermelon Sugar” video, which he says is “dedicated to touching.” I do appreciate that there is at least a couple of different body types (and boys!) in the mix.

–Tekashi 6ix9ine is accusing Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande of buying the No. 1 spot on top of the charts. Bieber, Grande and Billboard are refuting those claims.

–Matt Lauer wrote an op-ed in support of the NYT’s shaky hit piece on Ronan Farrow.  Not surprisingly, I’ve never heard of the outlet that agreed to run Lauer’s piece.

-A backlash is brewing over Bachelorette star Hannah Brown‘s use of the n-word when singing along to a song in an Instagram video.

-Congrats to Hawaii Five-O and Being Human star Meaghan Rath, who had a lovely looking quarantine wedding.

–Mindy Kaling has been recruited by Reese Witherspoon to help write Legally Blonde 3.

–Andrew Scott (aka Hot Priest) read a poem on Instagram called “Everything Is Going to Be Alright” and I found it very soothing.

-The cast of Umbrella Academy recreated their Tiffany dance to celebrate the second season coming to Netflix.

–Elon Musk tweeted some crap about taking the red pill and Grimes‘ mother was quick to clapback, as was Matrix co-writer/director Lilly Wachowski.

-Country music star Paul Brandt will lead Alberta’s new human trafficking task force. I…um…yeah.

-This is a very lovely profile on Ben Schwartz, who most of us know from Parks and Rec and who can soon be seen in Netflix’s Space Force.

–Stana Katic still isn’t sure why the hell ABC fired her from Castle.

-My god, the news of Lynn Shelton’s death is gutting. Her partner, comedian and actor Marc Maron, put out a statement.

–Joe Rogan (a person I don’t particularly like who hosts a podcast I very much don’t like) is moving his podcast to Spotify exclusively. This is a huge get for Spotify and a peek at where the podcast world may be heading.

-The cast of Community did a table read for charity (Pedro Pascal subbed in for Walter Goggins!), and they all said they are down to do a movie.

-In a new interview with WSJ Mag, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson talks about his recent marriage to his longtime girlfriend, singer-songwriter Lauren Hashian. “My divorce did a number on me. I wasn’t fearful of getting married again, there was just some hesitancy. But Lauren was incredibly patient: ‘I love you, you love me, we have this amazing life together — no presh.'”

-I really, really love the styling on Taylor Swift‘s British Vogue shoot.

–Liam Hemsworth is reportedly dating 22-year-old actress Maddison Brown, but she shut down questions about it in a recent interview. “I’m not answering that question. My rule is not talking about my personal life.”

–Kim Kardashian was once offered $1 million for an Instagram post by a fast-fashion brand that often knocks off Kanye West‘s clothing line, so he asked her not to do it. She says he then rewarded her on Mother’s Day with a $1M cheque and a contract to make her part owner of his line. So basically, when Kim Kardashian stays off social media, everyone wins!

-Meanwhile, James Corden says Kanye canceled two times before finally filming Airplane Karaoke.

–Tekashi 6ix9ine‘s girlfriend claims that Offset slid into her DMs. Cardi B insists he was hacked. The world, somehow, continues to spin.

-The Virginia Roberts Giuffre interview aired last night in the UK and she repeated her claim that she was trafficked by Jeffrey Epstein and forced into sex with Prince Andrew three times when she was 17.

-When Chris Evans‘ glorious sweater was revealed in Knives Out, my friend and I both automatically reached for each other and sighed loudly. So yeah, this costume designer deserves all the love she’s getting.

–Chrishell Hartley filed a divorce petition in response to This Is Us actor Justin Hartley‘s divorce filing, and she listed a date of separation that’s months after what he listed.

–Drake and Kylie Jenner: still not dating.

For some reason, the Variety reporter asked everyone on the Gotham Awards red carpet what they thought of Baby Yoda. Jennifer Lopez clearly had no idea what he was talking about (but pretended she did), Lili Reinhart wants to cuddle him, Laura Dern rolled with it, Awkwafina joked that she looks like “an uglier version” of him, and Elisabeth Moss said that Baby Yoda has “united the country in a way that is very necessary.”

-A sexual violence hotline in the U.S. witnessed a spike of more than 40 per cent after Grey’s Anatomy aired an episode about sexual assault. I gave up on Grey’s eons ago but caught up on that episode because there was so much buzz about it at the time and it was incredibly powerful.

-Of all the things Jason Momoa could possibly call Chris Pratt out about, a plastic water bottle wasn’t at the top of my list.

-NPR has launched it’s annual book concierge feature and it’s basically my entire xmas wishlist.

-Speaking of books, the author of Red, White and Royal Blue (which was one of my fave books of 2019) just announced a new novel and she’s describing it as “a queer Kate and Leopold” so I’m gonna need that asap.

–Paul Welsley has an idea of how he wanted The Vampire Diaries to end, and it’s way better than how it actually ended.

-I wasn’t expecting the Black Widow trailer to give me Bourne vibes but I dig it. Also Florence Pugh going from Little Women to this is a giant flex.
