-I missed that People named Regina King one of their people of the year last week. I’m bummed that covid has stolen some of the shine she’d be getting right now for her directing of One Night In Miami, which is a lock for Oscar noms.

-Are Kim Kardashian and Kanye West planning an announcement? There seems to be a lot of sources planting hints in reputable outlets about their marriage problems. One tells E! News “they spend a lot of time apart”, while People is reporting that they’re living separate lives.

–Shawn Mendes appeared on Dax Shepard‘s podcast and talked about the “frustrating” rumours surrounding his sexuality: “You want to say, ‘I’m not gay but it’d be fine if I was gay — but also there’s nothing wrong with being gay, but I’m not.'”

–Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have inked an exclusive multi-year deal with Spotify through newly formed production company Archewell Audio. Together, they plan to host and produce podcasts that uplift and entertain audiences.

-Wonder Woman 1984 costars Gal Gadot and Kristen Wiig made a silly video about their friendship.

-Meanwhile, the first reviews for Wonder Woman 1984 are in, and critics seem to like it a lot!

-The reviews for Wild Mountain Thyme, starring Jamie Dornan and Emily Blunt with terrible Irish accents, are hilarious. This one is my fave so far: “Are straight people okay? Have all of the proper romantic conflicts between straight people been used up by now on-screen and so… this… is what is left?”

–Cardi B surprised Offset with a Lamborghini for his 29th birthday. I am living the wrong life.

-In an interview with Jimmy Kimmel, Taylor Swift was asked directly about the Woodvale conspiracy (which claims that evermore is part of an album trilogy). She seems to laugh it off but her fans aren’t swayed.

–Christopher Walken says he’s never owned a computer or cell phone, surprising no one.

–Debra Messing is apologizing after one of her tweets criticizing Trump appeared homophobic.

-It’s kind of hilarious that Peter Quill in the Guardians of the Galaxy Marvel franchise is both polyamorous and bisexual (according to the latest comic) and in the movies he’s played by Chris Pratt. I’m really hoping they write this into his next script.

-The Christmas Setup, the only Lifetime holiday movie I’ve been looking forward to, is airing on CTV Drama on Friday. Yay!

-HBO Max is honoring a request by Dave Chappelle to remove Chappelle’s Show from the streaming service at the end of this year.

-Canadian fashion mogul Peter Nygard is in police custody as his sex assault investigations continue.

–Lily James and Sebastian Stan are set to play Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee in a Hulu limited series about the former couple. I don’t even understand those words.

-Here’s the new Nomadland trailer. This movie stayed with me a long time.

–Kristen Bell is a chronic over-sharer (seriously, we know a LOT about her marriage) but one thing she says she won’t share is her kids’ faces. In the new issue of Romper, she says “My feeling is that I chose a career in the public eye. I chose to be quoted, I chose to have my picture taken. I don’t know them yet. I don’t know if they will want that. So I really don’t have the right to choose for them.”

–Leonardo DiCaprio took his dad bod to the beach.

–Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds are burying the fake hatchet for charity.

–Jonathan Rhys Meyers is back in the news, and once again it’s for not-great reasons: he was arrested and charged with a DUI on Sunday.

-Beyoncé just announced a multi-year partnership with Peloton to produce exclusive fitness content. As if I didn’t want one of these things already…

–Sebastian Stan spent the first part of the pandemic bitching on social about people who were travelling, but now it seems like all he does is go on exotic vacations? In any case, his latest jaunt to Mexico featured cozy times with Alejandra Onieva.

-I find it sooooo weird that Brian Austin Green has Tori Spelling and Jennie Garth caping for his parenting skills.

-There are new photos of Dominic West and his wife going for a run. Well then, I’m convinced everything’s fine now!

-The TV gods giveth (Netflix renewed The Umbrella Academy) and the TV gods taketh away (HBO cancelled The Outsiders).

–Salma Hayek did a supercut of all the times she’s gotten a covid test and I couldn’t get past the first 4 seconds.

-Just when you thought Phil Collins’ divorce proceedings couldn’t get uglier comes accusations from his ex of impotence and neglecting to bathe or brush his teeth for months.

-The Grey’s Anatomy showrunner very politely implied that Justin Chambers‘ exit screwed up her endgame plans, but won’t discuss details of his incredibly abrupt departure. “It’s just not my story to tell.”

–Zach Braff, who’s 45, talked about his girlfriend Florence Pugh, who’s 24, and why he hasn’t discussed their age difference since she posted this video addressing the criticism of their relationship on Instagram. “She literally sat down, hit record on her phone and said that. I thought: how could I possibly follow anything as intelligent and articulate as that? So, I chose not to.”

-SNL had just 85 minutes to recreate Kamala Harris’ white pantsuit for Maya Rudolph to wear before the show went live.

–Mads Mikkelsen is in early talks to replace Johnny Depp in the Fantastic Beasts franchise. What an upgrade!

-I’m really bummed that Robbie Amell had to drop out of The Hating Game. It is my FAVOURITE romcom (seriously, if you haven’t read it yet go fix your life) and he would have made a great Josh.

-This is a good overview of what’s going on in the movie industry, and why consumers now expecting a seamless shift of blockbusters from the big screen to their homes are about to get a rude awakening.

-The reviews for Netflix’s Hillbilly Elegy are hilariously negative. (Hilarious because the Oscar-baiting poverty porn trailer looked so, so bad.)

-Meanwhile, Netflix’s holiday romcom series Dash & Lily is debuting this week to good reviews.

-Spy costars Melissa McCarthy and Bobby Cannavale reunite for the Superintelligence trailer. This time he’s playing her love interest, which I *adore*.

–In British Vogue, Jodie Turner-Smith talks about how her labour lasted four(!) days, and why she decided to give birth at home. “We had already decided on a home birth, because of concerns about negative birth outcomes for Black women in America — according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the risk of pregnancy-related deaths is more than three times greater for Black women than for white women, pointing, it seems to me, to systemic racism.”  She also shared a photo husband Joshua Jackson took of her on day 3.

–Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos are on the cover of People with their incredible photogenic family.

-I love this photo shoot of Normal People’s Daisy Edgar-Jones for Harper’s Bazaar.

-This supercut of all the times Ellen Degeneres mocked Sofia Vergara’s accent is pretty damning.

–Katy Perry defended the tweet she sent in support of Ellen. “I started that tweet off not undermining anyone else’s experience. I wanted to only speak from my own experience. I have over 100 million people that follow me on Twitter, so not everyone is going to agree with me. And I’m not here to make everyone agree with me.”

–Robert Pattinson could have played Chris Evan’s part in Scott Pilgrim vs the World. I just rewatched that recently and sorry but Evans is perfect in it.

–Ed Sheeran is reportedly going to be a dad.

-This is a great NYT article on how a swimmer was training for the US Paralympic team until all of the public pools closed due to covid — and then David Duchovny reached out to him on Instagram to offer the use of his 25-meter pool in his backyard.

-The fact that I had no idea that Joseph Gordon-Levitt has two sons makes me love him even more.

-The entire original editing team of the documentary series Surviving R. Kelly — the majority of whom are Black, with one Latinx editor — quit the project because their notes were being ignored.

-The Crown has tapped Game of Thrones’ Jonathan Pryce to play Prince Phillip.

–Drake Bell is denying ex-girlfriend Melissa Lingafelt‘s accusations of physical abuse, as several more women come forward.

–Sarah Cooper is having a moment. She just landed a Netflix special, and did the monologue on Jimmy Kimmel Live.

–Leah Remini is worried that Tom Cruise will try to lure Suri into Scientology when she’s old enough. I mean, first he’d have to talk to her.

-Page Six has photos of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s new home in Montecito.
