Scott Eastwood Remembers Girlfriend Who Died In Car Crash

–Scott Eastwood covers the new issue of GQ Australia, in which he talks about losing a girlfriend to a car accident, and how his dad once punched him in the face when he was 16. And now I feel bad for Scott Eastwood. This is new.

-This is an excellent, excellent interview with Donald Glover about addressing black culture in his new show.

–Sarah Paulson is joining Feud,  Ryan Murphy‘s new show based on the conflict between Joan Crawford and Bette Davis. This cast is INSANE. Jessica Lange is Crawford, Susan Sarandon is Davis, Paulson is Oscar-winner Geraldine Page, Catherine Zeta-Jones is Olivia de Havilland, and Judy Davis is gossip columnist Hedda Hopper. I mean, jesus.

-Unfortunately, Paulson‘s career winning streak continues to not translate into fashion wins.

-The Anne of Green Gables TV adaptation has been picked up by Netflix. This is awesome! Someone I know is working on the production in Toronto.

-In his new interview with the Guardian, Miles Teller tries to do some serious damage control following that douchey Esquire interview. “If I read this and you call me an asshole, I’m going to be so pissed off.”

–Jennifer Lawrence and Melissa McCarthy are topping Forbes 2016 list of highest-paid actresses again.

-I’m not sure why Halle Berry, Priyanka Chopra and Jodie Foster are doing dramatic readings of Britney Spears lyrics, but I’ll take it.

–John Cho will play a wine connoisseur/con artist in a new series that sounds like it was lifted directly from my dreams.

-Speaking of shows straight out of my dreams, Idris Elba is making a docuseries where he attempts to become a professional kickboxer.

–Joseph Fiennes has been cast as the male lead opposite Elisabeth Moss in Hulu’s take on The Handmaids Tale. Man, this summer is all about Atwood adaptation news, huh? I’m not complaining.

-I liked this defense of Mr Robot season 2. The show definitely zigged when I expected it to zag, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing.

-I have a very limited amount of gala tickets at TIFF this year and I didn’t want to waste them on films that will premiere at other festivals first, but this new trailer for La La Land means I no longer care about that. Gorgeous!

Game of Thrones Is Ending Sooner Than You Think

-I hate the styling of the inside photos of Sophie Turner’s InStyle UK photo shoot (why does it look like it was lit with a Bic lighter?), but at least they picked an OK cover photo.

-Speaking of Game of Thrones, the creators say there is only 15 episodes left — at most. Hmm, I wonder if HBO knows that?

-Meanwhile, Game of Thrones producers don’t want to hear your bitching about how fast Varys travels, mm-kay?

–Tom + Lorenzo’s take on Taylor Swift and Tom Hiddleston‘s clumsy PR moves is predictably perfect.

–Bradley Cooper has joined the long and cherished tradition of famous white dudes dancing awkwardly at musical festivals. He gets bonus points for the backwards ball cap.

-More proof that the Tarzan movie is doomed: they wouldn’t let Alexander Skarsgard wear a loin cloth.

-Despite starring in a blockbuster, Leslie Jones says no one wants to dress her for the Ghostbusters premiere. This is bullshit!

-My friend and I were talking about how we should arrange a girls’ night out on Ghostbusters opening night, just like we all did  for the first Sex and the City movie. Buzzfeed has 11 other suggestions.

–Jesse Williams expanded on his BET Awards speech, saying he wants people to know “they are not alone.”

-Meanwhile, this is a really good take on what was wrong with Justin Timberlake’s tweets about Jesse Williams.

–Leah Remini is reportedly filming footage for a show about how Scientology tears families apart and I want it in my eyeballs now!

-Speaking of TV dramatic actresses, Vulture makes a really good case for why The Leftovers’ Carrie Coon deserves Emmy love.

–Bobby Cannavale is pretty “down” about Vinyl’s cancellation and needs a hug.
–Tyrese Gibson will return for Transformers 5 — because he begged for it on social media.

-The Daily Show’s abortion tweet was bad. Their apology was worse.

–Samantha Bee‘s segment on Brexit is fabulous. She talks about how the US needs to learn from the UK and dump Trump in a landslide, and then recruits David Tennant to read Scottish Trump insults.

–Colin Firth and Patrick Dempsey face off over fatherhood in Bridget Jones’s Baby trailer. God, I’ve missed her voice!

–Kerry Washington, Sarah Paulson, Jennifer Lopez, Julianna Margulies, Regina King, Constance Zimmer, and Kirsten Dunst share the spotlight on cover of The Hollywood Reporter for their annual actress roundtable. I’m not sure about the “diva” cutline but I can’t wait to carve out some time to watch that video! For now, these highlights will have to do.

-Speaking of great covers, your pretend boyfriend Oscar Isaac is on the cover of the new Rolling Stone.

-The Good Wife spinoff at CBS’s streaming service is a go. I…what…huh?

-This is an excellent, exhaustive piece by Vulture on the economics of Peak TV. “Kevin Costner was offered $500K per episode to do a series for one of the big three streaming networks… He passed.”

–Kate Beckinsale and Michael Sheen lovingly recreated their teen daughter’s birth on her 17th birthday, which doesn’t sound embarrassing at all.

-Shocking report: Blake Lively is not good at jokes.

-Allow Mariah Carey to demonstrate what to do when you have nothing nice to say.  Also, “I need a key light and you’re not giving me one” is my new favourite phase.

–Zac Efron says he used to Google himself every morning. Sure, Zac. “Used to.”

-The Office’s Jenna Fischer was reportedly replaced on a show because she had “bad chemistry” with Matthew LeBlanc. Who has bad chemistry with Pam?!

–Robin Wright continues to be the HBIC.

-The way Laverne Cox is looking at Katherine Heigl in this photo makes me love her even more.

-It’s official: wanting to be like Kim Kardashian can legit kill you.

-On-again, off-again couple Emma Roberts and Evan Peters just hit the off switch again.

–Drake and Jimmy Fallon took the mini Drake meme to a whole new level this week.

-Screw the haters; I like the new Ghostbusters trailer. The fact that the main villains seem to be MRAs is just gravy.
