-According to Deadline, Matt Reeves wants to reboot Batman as a standalone franchise and replace Ben Affleck.
-When we left the theatre on Friday after seeing Ocean’s 8 I turned to my friends and said “so Cate Blanchett and Sandra Bullock‘s characters were totally gay for each other, right?” and everyone agreed. And it’s not just us who thought so! Even though I wish the subtext was more actual text, I love that everyone’s writing about their chemistry, like here, here and here.
–Anthony Bourdain‘s Parts Unknown was scheduled to come off Netflix US on June 16, but they just announced it will remain.
-I tweeted a link to her twitter thread about it yesterday, but Mo Ryan compiled her thoughts on how TV has treated actresses over 40 this year into an excellent, stats-filled article for THR. I still can’t believe Mary McDonnell’s lead character was killed off Major Crimes just before the series finale and they took her name off the show’s credits in the final episodes — and she wasn’t warned that would happen ahead of time.
