Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel: New Parents?

-The Daily Mail is reporting that Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel have welcomed a new baby following a “super-secret pregnancy” — and so far, there’s been no denials. If true, the timing suggests she was pregnant when those photos of him looking cozy with his costar surfaced in Nov.

-Speaking of surprising baby news, Nicki Minaj is pregnant. I love every one of her announcement photos.

–Kanye West hosted the first campaign event for his bewildering presidential run over the weekend, and it was predictably messy. He broke down in tears, said his dad wanted to abort him, claimed that he and Kim Kardashian considered not having North, and said Harriet Tubman never actually freed slaves.

-People reports the Kim is “furious” he discussed North.

-A hostess at a fancy NYC restaurant posted a TikTok rating celebrities guests she’s encountered. The Hadid sisters, Beyonce and Josh Peck got 10/10 for being incredibly kind, while Kylie Jenner got 2/10 for tipping $20 on a $500 bill, and Hailey Bieber got 3.5/10 for being “not nice.” (Hailey has since tweeted an apology.)

–Amber Heard gave testimony to the British High Court today that she was afraid her ex-husband Johnny Depp was going to kill her, saying “Some incidents were so severe that I was afraid he was going to kill me, either intentionally or just by losing control and going too far. He explicitly threatened to kill me many times, especially later in our relationship.”

-She also said he was irrationally jealous of her costars and had nasty nicknames for them, including Leo ‘pumpkin-head’ DiCaprio, Channing ‘potato-head’ Tatum and Jim ‘turd’ Sturgess’.

–August Alsina is milking every last drop of fame he can from his affair with Jada Pinkett Smith. He just dropped a new song entitled — you guessed it! — “Entanglements.”

–Lindsay Lohan, Nancy Meyers, Dennis Quaid and more came together for a Parent Trap reunion. She looks and sounds really, really good.

-I’m sick of Zoom videos, but I’ll still be tuning into the Happy Endings reunion, which airs tonight at 7pm ET on YouTube.

–John Oliver is attempting to quash coronavirus conspiracy theories by enlisting celebrities.

–Mykki Blanco alleges that Universal Music Group still hasn’t paid them for their contribution to Teyana Taylor’s “WTP” some two years after the track came out.

-Vanity Fair’s Mo Ryan just dropped another stunner of a TV expose. She talked to 30 people who worked with Peter Lenkov, former showrunner of Hawaii Five-0, Magnum P.I., and MacGyver about alleged bullying, abuse & other serious problems they encountered. Kudos to McGyver star Lucas Till for being one of the ones to go on the record about Lenkov’s alleged bullying and body-shaming, despite what that might mean for his career. “I’ve never worked this hard in my life, and I am fine with hard work,” said Till. “But the way Peter treats people is just unacceptable. I was suicidal that first year on the show, because of the way he made me feel. But the way he’s treated the people around me—that’s just my breaking point.” Through his lawyer, Lenkov denied all allegations.

-Some are saying the only reason he was fired is because CBS knew this article was coming.

-Not surprising: Christopher Nolan‘s Tenet isn’t going to make its August release date after all. Sort of surprising: when announcing it, Warner Bros put out a press release that included 9 “off the record” paragraphs warning/scolding media about their coverage. Um,  “off the record” only exists if both parties agree to it beforehand, not if you send an unsolicited email. Secondly, nothing in a press release can be off the record — the whole point of press releases is to make a public announcement!

-I really like Princess Beatrice’s wedding dress.

-Disney+ released the trailer for Black Is King, the new Lion King-inspired “visual album”/film written and directed by Beyoncé that comes out later this month. It features cameos from Kelly Rowland, Naomi Campbell, Lupita Nyong’o, and Jay-Z.

-In her new People cover story, Julia Louis-Dreyfus talks about how surviving breast cancer led her to ramp up her environmental activism. “Once you’ve faced a near-death experience like that, you do begin to realize that, at some point, you’re going to be out of here. We all are. So, how best to spend my remaining time on this planet?”

-Media-shy Cameron Diaz appeared on Who What Wear CEO Katherine Power‘s Instagram Live yesterday and talked about motherhood and being married to Benji Madden. “I love being a mother. It’s the best, best, best part of my life. I’m so grateful and so happy and it’s the best thing ever and I’m so lucky to do it with Benj and we’re having the best time. I’m thrilled. I can’t believe it.”

–Drew Barrymore says she’s cried everyday while trying to home school her daughters.

-Twitter is going crazy for this WILD clip of a Quibi show where Emmy winner Rachel Brosnahan plays a woman obsessed with her golden arm. It’s apparently part of a horror anthology.

–Armie Hammer is making some interesting style choices in quarantine.

–Cardi B invited Bernie Sanders to join her on Instagram Live last night to talk politics, coronavirus and manicures.

–Jennifer Lopez and Robert DeNiro surprised hospital staff with video messages of support.

–Judi Dench‘s grandson continues to make hilarious TikTok videos with her and I love him.

–Nicki Minaj dropped her husband’s name on her social media channels, but apparently it’s just because she’s getting ready to promote new music.

-A new trend on Tik Tok is people doing their makeup while lip-syncing to John Mulaney bits, which is exactly the kind of content I’m here for.

–Sam Raimi has been confirmed as the director for the Doctor Strange sequel and the internet is very, very happy.

–Rita Wilson described her covid symptoms. It sounded horrible.

–Reese Witherspoon‘s fashion line Draper James tried to  give free dresses away to teachers, but it went very badly.

-I’m intrigued by Ryan Murphy’s new limited series, Hollywood, which revisions a world in which minorities, women, and queer people had been allowed to shine in the industry’s so-called Golden Age.

Nicki Minaj Shows Off Her Giant Wedding Ring

–Nicki Minaj’s wedding ring is valued at over $1 million. It’s so big it looks like costume jewelry, but good on her, I guess.

–Kevin Hart shared an intense video about his recovery following his car accident.

-This is a very good read: the writer who called out David Letterman for sexual favoritism a decade ago sat down with him recently to talk about it.

–Andrew Garfield is going to star in Lin-Manuel Miranda‘s Netflix adaptation of tick, tick…boom, from Rent playwright Jonathan Larson. I like all the words in that sentence!

-As someone who hasn’t read the comic, this perfectly captures my entire thought process while watching HBO’s The Watchmen.

-Critics are starting to talk about the High Fidelity series with Zoe Kravitz and the buzz is GOOD.

-HBO Max announced its lineup yesterday. The good news: it sounds like all their original shows will be available on Crave here in Canada.

-TV critic Alan Sepinwall spoke with David Simon (creator of The Wire and The Deuce) about those allegations against James Franco and their parallels with stories depicted on The Deuce, and wow did Simon not come off well. He scolded Sepinwall (and other journalists) for not distinguishing Franco from others accused of #MeToo misconduct, saying “the fundamental difference is that James Franco didn’t seek to use his position to have sex with anyone.” Yes, it’s important to deal with each individual case differently but for him to be the arbiter of what is and is not a fireable offense, while also claiming that Franco didn’t understand his position of power over the other actors on set, is really disappointing. Especially because Simon is known for being an advocate for journalists and a commentator on systematic discrimination.

-Vanity Fair’s Sonia Saraiya wrote a very good rebuttal thread, and then got into it with Simon on Twitter.

-It’s Halloweeen week, which means Ellen scared the crap out of Saoirse Ronan not once, but twice.

–Shia LaBeouf says he was diagnosed with PTSD due to his child stardom which doesn’t sound so far-fetched to me.

-Huh. Amazon Studios’ chief says that despite the industry calling Mindy Kaling‘s Late Night “an example of a failure from Amazon,” the film has “been watched in the U.S. more than any other movie in the short time it’s been on” their streaming service.

-Speaking of movies starring Emma Thompson, Lainey loved Last Christmas and that’s good enough for me!

-I binged the six new episodes of Bojack Horseman on Netflix this weekend and it was so, so good.

-Speaking of Netflix shows, the trailer for The End of the F***ing World indicates the new season begins with a time jump.
