Kate Middleton Is Not Having It with Prince William

Kate Middleton Prince William people cover

-Is it just me, or are Prince William and Kate Middleton in the middle of a sudden PR blitz? Maybe they’re doing damage control because of this super awkward clip that everyone can’t stop sharing of her shrugging his hand off her shoulder?

-The Hollywood Reporter has a story on why Ruth Wilson left The Affair, and wow is it even worse than speculation suggested. Sources say she wanted to leave the show because of ongoing frustrations with her character’s gratuitous nudity, and friction with showrunner Sarah Treem and exec producer Jeffrey Reiner — who reportedly once cornered Lena Dunham at a restaurant and asked if she would have dinner alone with Wilson to persuade her to “show her tits, or at least some vag.” Reiner then reportedly pulled out his phone to show Dunham a graphic photo of “a mutual friend with a cock next to her face” — which was reportedly a shot of Maura Tierney and a nude male actor taken from filming in a closed set.

-Yikes. The Rise of Skywalker is currently at 59% rotten with 204 reviews counted. (This review is particularly brutal.) It’s like the franchise has made concessions for the loudest, most sexist portion of the fanbase.

Emily Gordon posted a photo proving that a buff Kumail Nanjiani is still a geeky Kumail Nanjiani.

John Legend invited all of The Voice judges to his house for dinner and Chrissy Teigen didn’t know it was the night of the show’s finale, and she roasted John on Twitter for not giving her time to plan something elaborate.

Jennifer Lopez pulled her 74-year-old mother up on stage to dance for her birthday and I wish I could move like that now, let alone at her age.

Brad Pitt attended Jennifer Aniston’s tree-trimming party. (Sadly, not a euphemism.)

-Also, Pitt turned 56 yesterday.

Camila Cabello took to social media to apologize for using the n-word when she was younger. I don’t think anyone was bringing it up or asking her to do this, so good on her?

-21-year-old model Gabriella Brooks has reportedly met Liam Hemsworth’s parents already.

Cara Delevingne wished Ashley Benson a happy birthday with a gushy Instagram gallery, so I guess they didn’t break up.

-The trailer for John Mulaney’s Netflix special is here and I’m ready!

-Here’s the first teaser for A Quiet Place Part II.

The Black Panther Cast’s Sexy Love Triangle

-The Black Panther cast made a sexy partner-swapping video last night and I’m dead. It killed me.

Chrissy Metz denied calling Alison Brie “a b*tch” into her microphone on the Golden Globes red carpet. It very well could have been “babe” like the cohost insists — the audio cuts off pretty abruptly after “she’s such a b-.” Brie posted a pic of them together with the caption “Nothing but love for @chrissymetz! Rumors can’t keep us down!”

Pete Davidson and Kate Beckinsale were spotted chatting at a Golden Globe after party, so of course everyone’s is assuming they’re a thing now.

-In case you didn’t hear it during the broadcast, here’s Emma Stone yelling “I’m sorry!” after the joke about Aloha.

-I don’t know what was weirder — that critically reviled films Green Book and Bohemian Rhapsody took home the biggest awards (it would have made slightly more sense if Green Book won best drama and Bohemian Rhapsody won best comedy/musical), or that Bohemian Rhapsody’s credited director Bryan Singer wasn’t mentioned even once in the acceptance speeches. I guess they’ve decided their best path to Oscar glory is to pretend the film isn’t associated with an accused rapist?

Rami Malek fanboying over The Americans is a mood. He was also v. cute when he introduced himself to Lady Gaga, who I’m pretty sure had no idea who he was but seemed pretty polite about it.

-I wonder if Giuliana Rancic‘s awkward red carpet interview with Debra Messing was in retaliation for last year’s equally awkward red carpet interview?

-My favourite thing about last night’s Golden Globes was watching people discover the joy that is Olivia Colman. The first thing I ever saw her in was Tyrannosaur, which I still think about 8 years later. Also, her delivery of the line “With respect sir, move away from me now or I will piss in a cup and throw it at you” remains one of the best thing to ever exist.

-ICYMI, here’s our Golden Globes fashion recap.

-I love that critics are loving Sex Education, Netflix’s new British teen comedy starring Gillian Anderson that drops next week.

-Today in court, Kevin Spacey pleaded not guilty to groping a man in a Nantucket restaurant. The judge ordered the actor to stay away from the accuser.

Lena Dunham and her former producing partner Jenni Konner reportedly aren’t on speaking terms, possibly because of Konner’s continued support of Girls writer Murray Miller, who allegedly raped Aurora Perrineau. I rarely say this, but good on Dunham.

Melissa Joan Hart is denying making anti-Semitic comments on a podcast.

-Oh god. R. Kelly created a Facebook page in which he started targeting his accusers one by one. Luckily the page was shut down. Can he just go to jail already?

HBO’s latest sizzle reel features new Game of Thrones footage — including Sansa telling Daenerys through gritted teeth “Winterfell is yours, your grace” as Jon Snow, Jorah and Brienne look on.

Lena Dunham’s Apology Falls Flat

-Jesus. I’d read about Lena Dunham’s apology to Aurora Perrineau and it was bad enough, but the video is full on cringe. Owning your mistakes in public is great, but this whole thing just feels so performative and gross.

Offset‘s alleged mistress has apologized to Cardi B after hearing about their split. “I have not messed with Offset since he had his baby. I didn’t know how serious his marriage was, you know
I feel ashamed,” she told TMZ.

Jennifer Aniston and George Clooney‘s friendship will never not fascinate me.

-Meanwhile, Aniston’s new Netflix movie Dumplin’ is not getting great reviews — but we’re all still gonna watch it, right?

Jeff Goldblum teamed up with James Corden to parody Ariana Grande‘s “thank u, next,” which was appropriately titled “Thank U, Jeff.

-The Four Weddings and a Funeral cast will reunite for a charity short for Red Nose Day.

-Gearing up to interview Kim Kardashian on her show, Busy Philipps documented her 4-hour transformation to look like a Kardashian.

Julia Roberts will not be serving Lucas Hedges any more Thanksgiving dinners after he called her turkey dry.

Natasha Rothwell is taking over the world and she deserves it all.

-The Jason Momoa social media posts from bts on SNL continue to deliver the goods.

-John Krasinksi keeps sending The Rock naked selfies from his gym.

Michael Douglas has denied THR’s story that he once masturbated in front of a journalist.

-The Golden Globe nominations were announced today, and while there were some great surprises (The Americans, The Bodyguard, Sandra Oh, The Good Place), I’m very bummed that Widows and Atlanta were shut out.

-Also, I don’t understand any of the movie categories. Bohemian Rhapsody and A Star is Born should be in the music/comedy category rather than Best Motion Picture Drama. And why is Green Book a comedy or musical?

-Also, people are not happy that Girl, the trans-hating movie from Belgium, got a nomination.

-Wondering why all the Hallmark holiday movies look so familiar? Most of them are shot in northern Ontario.

Chrissy Metz plays a grieving mother in the Breakthrough trailer.
