Ariana Grande Drops “7 Rings”

-Ok, so I might have listened to Ariana’s new song 287 times today. What can I say? It was a rough week.

–Sophie Turner revealed a one of the hardest parts of starring in Game of Thrones: “For the first few seasons I was allowed to wash my hair because I was an aristocratic young girl, but toward season five they started asking me to not wash my hair and it was really disgusting.”

–Justin Beiber and Hailey Baldwin have sent save the date cards for their wedding celebration.

-Sony has finally (FINALLY!) cut ties with R Kelly. Their RCA Records label has dropped him on the heels of the Lifetime documentary.

-Also, a former music label intern is accusing him of sexually abusing her as a teenager, which she’ll talk about on tonight’s Dateline.

–Tom Holland remains the cutest bean to ever exist.

-Arrow’s 150th episode sounds… kind of funny? Fine, I’m back in.

–Nic Pizzolatto and HBO are reportedly fighting over the True Detective season 3 finale. Has there ever been someone who needs to just get out of his own way more than this guy?

–Mariah Carey‘s war with her ex-assistant is insane. Blackmail! Secret recordings! NDAs! Pee!

-It’s interesting that Netflix considers its biggest competition not HBO, but Fortnite.

–Kumail Nanjiani and Issa Rae are starring in a rom-com together and I’m here for it!

-On the Graham Norton Show, they aired an old clip of Timothée Chalamet rapping about math and it was amazing. The also aired a clip of 10-year-old Saoirse Ronan winning a radio contest.

-According to Vulture, David Letterman recently interviewed Kanye West for the second season of his Netflix talk show. I don’t want to hear from either of those dudes so that’s a definite skip.

–Natalie Portman is the latest celeb to push for inclusion riders in Hollywood contracts.

-This is an interesting look at how Spotify’s revenue model makes it impossible for mid-level artists to be fairly compensated.

-Bless Twitter shippers for alerting me to the fact that Karen Page shows up in episode 11 of the new season of The Punisher. I can just skip to that, right?

–Jesse Eisenberg and Alexander Skarsgard race for stock market quotes in the trailer for The Hummingbird Project.

Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny Take a Knee

–Gillian Anderson posted a pic of her and David Duchovny taking a knee on TXF set. I adore her.

–Jennifer Lopez has donated $1 million to hurricane relief in Puerto Rico, and Lin Manuel-Miranda penned a very personal plea for Puerto Rico hurricane relief.

-Congrats to Game of Thrones stars Kit Harington and Rose Leslie, who are engaged.  I guess Jon Snow knows some stuff after all…

-I was pretty happy to hear that Supergirl just added a Bollywood actress to the cast — but she’s white? So close, show!

-Everyone’s making fun of Sarah Jessica Parker hosting shoe-shopping tours of NYC, but I would do it in a heartbeat.

–Emma Stone gained 15 pounds of muscle for her role in Battle of the Sexes with shakes, sled pulls and deadlifts. Pass.

-Her costar Natalie Morales called out photographers for taking creepy upskirt shots of her at the Battle of the Sexes premiere.  How gross. These aren’t even paps — they’re professional red carpet photogs.

-Whoa. Jimmy Kimmel won the first night of the fall TV season, beating Fallon and Colbert in the key demo.

-According to Variety’s cover story on the rising costs of television, the final six #GameOfThrones episodes will cost HBO $15 million APIECE!  Woody Allen‘s Amazon series reportedly cost a half a million per minute. It’s all absurd.

-My favourite thing to come out of that Variety issue is this column on why TV execs are taking the wrong lessons from Game of Thrones.

–Gal Gadot, Jennifer Aniston, Gwyneth Paltrow, Emma Watson, Kristen Bell and a bunch more celebs read mean tweets on Kimmel last night, but Kumail Nanjiani stole the show.

-Kevin Can Wait had its season premiere last night, where the show only spent about 20 seconds acknowledging the death of the lead character’s wife. Classy.

-Here’s Taylor Kitsch as David Koresh in the trailer for the mini-series Waco, also starring Michael Shannon, John Leguizamo, Rory Culkin, and Melissa Benoist.

Riverdale’s KJ Apa Gets In Accident After 16-Hour Day on Set

-Warner Bros. Television is doing damage control after Riverdale star KJ Apa got into a car accident in Vancouver while driving himself home following a 16-hour workday.

-Looks like the rumours of a split from Hayden Christensen may be true. Rachel Bilson was spotted in LA without her wedding ring. That sucks; I like them both.

-The Foo Fighters edition of Carpool Karaoke is a headbanging good time.

–Jordan Peele is developing a new TV show based on true events that follows a group who hunted down hundreds of Nazis who managed to escape punishment and settle into American society. See HBO, this is how you tackle historical entertainment.

–Gal Gadot, Kumail Nanjiani and Ryan Gosling are all slated to host SNL this season.

-The families of two men who died on the set of American Made are claiming that Tom Cruise is partially to blame.

-I don’t watch Rick and Morty (I know, I know) but it’s awesome that the creator is slamming trolls attacking their female writers.

-“I’m a target in a way most entrepreneurs are not,” says Gwyneth Paltrow in a new interview about GOOP.  Well to be fair, most entrepreneurs aren’t telling us to steam our vaginas…

-Also, here’s photos of her GOOP lab in LA, which the author describes as “equal parts ridic and chic as f*ck”.

–Dylan McDermott and Dermot Mulroney are going to star in a TV show together and my head just exploded.

-One of the least wave-making late night hosts has gone political. Jimmy Kimmel is taking on health care in his monologues, and he won’t back down until the repeal & replace act is dead, saying “I did more homework this week than all my years of college combined.”

-Oh, Channing Tatum — you scamp, you!

–Carey Mulligan wrote an essay about her grandmother’s life with Alzheimer’s and did it suddenly get really dusty in here?

-Is the “six seasons and a movie” mantra about Community actually coming true?

-Arcade Fire’s Win Butler is defending the rollout of the band’s latest album.

–Dwayne Johnson gets in the game in latest Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle trailer.

-After seeing Brad’s Status at TIFF, I’ve vowed not to watch anymore introspective Ben Stiller movies, so I’m gonna go ahead and pass on this.  Emma Thompson as a drunk hippie is tempting, though.

-No one trusts anyone in the new Murder on the Orient Express trailer starring Daisy Ridley, Michelle Pfeiffer, Josh Gad, Penelope Cruz, Johnny Depp, and Judi Dench.
