Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Dazzling Comeback

–Prince Harry and Meghan Markle attended their first public engagement together today since their royal exit announcement and they were glowing. They attended the Endeavour Fund Awards, which honours military personnel and veterans, and were witness to a surprise proposal.

–Katy Perry announced her pregnancy via the new music video for her song “Never Worn White,” which ends with her pulling a Beyonce and cradling her belly.

-Little Brown published Ronan Farrow’s Catch and Kill book and today its staff walked out to protest the fact that parent company Hachette is publishing Woody Allen’s book.

-Kids In The Hall are coming back! A revival is set for Amazon with all five stars returning.

-Oof, what is going on with the CW and how they’re parting ways with their leading men? First Stephen Amell talked about feeling disrespected while filming his big death scene in the final season of Arrow, and now Brandon Routh is opening up about his exit from Legends of Tomorrow. “I filmed my last episodes in the Arrowverse and as Ray Palmer, and that was a very traumatic event for me. It was not something I was expecting, it was shocking, it was not well-handled.” He also mentioned that on his final day of filming he didn’t get to act with any of his costars: “I was in the Atom suit, doing greenscreen with the crew. It was kind of a weird last day.”

-Queer Eye’s Jonathan Van Ness showed off his impressive figure skating moves on Insta.

–Taylor Swift is donating $1M to the Middle Tennessee Emergency Response Fund following damage caused by the recent tornadoes in Tennessee.

–This review of the new seasons of Better things points out one of my favourite things about the show: Sam’s ability to instantly make friends with strangers. I think I fell in love with the show in season two when she hopped in a golf cart at a resort, and then it cut to the next scene of her getting out of the golf cart while giving the driver a hug and congratulating him on his new grandchild.

-Now the Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker novelization is confirming that Rey‘s father is a failed Palpatine clone. Oh my god just STOP.

-After being in Bellevue Hospital for weeks, Harvey Weinstein is finally going to Rikers.

–David Spade got the Just Shoot Me cast back together to shoot a video in which he proposes a reboot.

–Elle Fanning says she celebrated her 21st birthday like a normal person — by throwing up repeatedly in an Uber.

-Netflix dropped its Love Is Blind reunion special, and some relationship statuses have changed since the finale.

-After controversies surrounding American Dirt and My Dark Vanessa, Oprah’s book club team decided it would not be moving forward with the novel.

-I don’t think blue light glasses actually work (I tried them and they gave me a headache) but Drew Barrymore’s line of them is very cute.

Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello’s Montreal Date Night

–Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello have taken their PDA tour to Montreal.

-Twitter is in chaos over this late-breaking Deadline report that Sony has ended its agreement with Marvel Studios, pulling Spider-Man out of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with Kevin Feige no longer being a part of the production of the sequels. The knee jerk reaction is that this is a really bad move on Sony’s part, who seem to believe that their success with Venom and Into the Spiderverse means they’re creatively strong enough to go it alone. But I can’t help but wonder if Disney leaked the news of the breakdown in talks to get fans all riled up and make the optics so bad they they force Sony to accept Disney’s bonkers demand for a 50/50 profit split. The next Tom Holland-led Spider-Man movie isn’t supposed to land until 2022. That’s a lot of time to weaponize fan outcry and negotiate using the press.

-Speaking of crazy movie news, Matrix 4 is officially a go with Keanu Reeves, Carrie-Anne Moss and Lana Wachowski all signed on. What is happening today?!?

-A second person has come forward accusing Katy Perry of sexual harassment.

-This Variety cover story about how celebrities are  driving the podcast revolution is … odd. Nearly every good podcast I’ve listened to, from when I started ten years ago to today, comes from writers/journalists.

–Adam Brody shot down rumours of a reboot of The OC but honestly, I could see it happening based on where all those actors ended up career-wise.

–Brody Jenner is speaking up for his ex Kaitlynn Carter, saying there is “far too much negativity” being directed at her since photos of her and Miley Cyrus surfaced. Which is kind of a decent thing for him to do, so I’m very confused.

-Oh and Brody and Kaitlynn weren’t actually married. Neither were Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux. This article about all the celebrities who’ve had weddings without legally getting married is bananas.

-The most followed YouTuber, PewDiePie, just got married. The teen in your life really cares about this, trust.

-I don’t watch Neftlix’s Elite, but my entire TL was very excited about this new season 2 trailer.

-This is the time of year when TV DVD sets hit, which means this is when we get the most blooper reels. Here’s the latest from Arrow, Schitt’s Creek, and Riverdale.

-It’s crazy to me that a British dramedy that critics are comparing to Fleabag and that stars Sharon Horgan from Catastrophe and Tobias Menzies from Outlander is not only debuting this week to so little fanfare that I had never even heard about it before Sepinwall posted his review, but a bunch of TV critics whose job it is to know these things were also in the dark.

-Succession has been renewed for season 3. I love those rich assholes.

–Scarlett Johansson and Adam Driver break down a Marriage Story in two new teasers for Noah Baumbach‘s upcoming drama, which tells the story of a divorce from two different perspectives.

Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth Split

-The big news of the weekend was that Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth are splitting after less than a year of marriage. The announcement came after came after Cyrus was photographed kissing Kaitlynn Carter, Brody Jenner’s ex, while on holiday in Italy.

–Hemsworth was approached this morning by The Daily Mail Australia while out in Byron Bay. “You don’t understand what it’s like,” the actor told the outlet. “I don’t want to talk about it, mate.” 😢

-The Morning Show, Apple’s new show starring Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon, released its first teaser. (It’ll be available via Apple TV but the cost still hasn’t been announced, which seems nuts since this streaming service is set to launch in like a month.)

–Josh Kloss, the actor who played Katy Perry’s love interest in her 2010 “Teenage Dream” video (aka the best pop song of the last 10 years), shared a lengthy Instagram post detailing the alleged humiliation he suffered at the hands of the pop star. He said she was “cool and kind” in private but “cold as ice” whenever other people were around, and claims she once pants’d him in public.

–Priyanka Chopra was at BeautyCon this past weekend and was asked about her previous tweet on the India–Pakistan conflict. Her response was not great, bob.

–Kim Cattrall won’t stop talking about another Sex and the City movie — even if we wish she would. “It was a blessing in so many ways but after the second movie I’d had enough. I couldn’t understand why they wouldn’t just replace me with another actress instead of wasting time bullying. No means no.”

–Lady Gaga is donating school supplies to the communities of El Paso, Dayton, and Gilroy.

-The Teen Choice Awards always make me feel old, but last night’s was especially a doozy. So many YouTube stars I don’t care about!

–Chris Evans tweet-flirting with Yvette Nicole Brown on her birthday is very cute.

–Olivia Colman is my queen — and now she’s everyone’s. Netflix released the first look at the actress as Queen Elizabeth II in season three of The Crown, out Nov 17.

–Sarah Silverman says she was recently fired from new movie after a photo of her in blackface from her show resurfaced. (She’s talked about it before, calling it her most “regrettable joke” back in 2015). “There’s a still of me on Twitter in blackface and it’s totally out of context and I tweeted it when Twitter was new and the people who followed me watched that show and it was from that show. Now it’s forever there and it looks…it’s totally racist out of context and I regret that.”

-Alanis Morissette‘s third child, Winter Mercy Morissette-Treadway, was born last week.

-Based on a Trump remark and some conservative faux-paranoia around a movie no one has even seen yet, Universal has cancelled The Hunt release. This makes no sense — not only have movies like The Purge franchise existed for years, if anything right-wingers should love a film about poor people rising up to defeat rich elites. What’s it gonna take for us to get Betty Gilpin: action star?!

-In happier news, The Farewell continues to be the lil’ movie that could. It has boosted its domestic haul to $10.2 million.

-Netflix dropped the first trailer for My Name Is Dolemite starring Eddie Murphy as comedy and rap pioneer Rudy Ray Moore.
