Bennifer’s Cozy Dinner

-Either Jennifer Lopez is flashing a super problematic symbol (highly unlikely), she’s giving the paps the ok (slightly more likely) or she’s just grabbing his shoulder awkwardly (most likely) in these pics of her and Ben Affleck packing on the PDA at dinner in Malibu.

-Speaking of reunited couples, Angelina Jolie was spotted leaving ex-husband Jonny Lee Miller’s house.

Chrissy Teigen has returned to the public eye sooner than I expected, but this apology she posted is very good. “I was a troll, full stop. And I am so sorry.”

Jessica Biel appeared on Dax Shepard‘s podcast and talked about welcoming her “secret COVID baby” with Justin Timberlake. “It wasn’t like it was supposed to be a secret. It was just COVID happened, and then I went to Montana with my family and never left.”

-The team behind Harley Quinn says DC asked them to remove a scene from Season 3 in which Batman goes down on Catwoman, saying “Heroes don’t do that.”

-There was a Scrubs reunion on Celebrity Family Feud.

-This deep dive into Meghan Markle hate accounts is super disturbing.

-Girls5eva has been renewed for season 2. I really enjoyed the first season. It’s joke density reminded me of 30 Rock (which makes sense, since it’s also produced by Tina Fey).

-Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke is releasing a three-issue comic book about a woman who gets superpowers when she’s on her period. (Weirdly, one of the characters on the excellent new TV show We Are Lady Parts has a subplot about writing a similar comic.)

Liam Hemsworth and Gabriella Brooks made their official public debut at the Gold Dinner 2021 in Australia.

-Black Widow tickets are actually on sale. This film might finally see the light of day after all!

-Also, finally happening: Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton‘s wedding. She just had her bridal shower. She’s also been spotted wearing a new ring so maybe the ceremony has already happened?

-There’s a lot of talk about how In the Heights failed to unseat A Quiet Place II from the top of the box office, but I’m not sure that was ever a realistic expectation.

-Here’s our first look at Netflix’s Persuasion and I really don’t know how we’re supposed to be rooting for Cosmo Jarvis‘ Captain Wentworth when Henry Golding‘s Mr. Elliot is right there.

-Here’s the first trailer for the new season of The Morning Show. At least they let Reese Witherspoon ditch her terrible wig.

Jason Momoa Gets Dirty

Jason Momoa covers Men’s Health splattered in mud courtesy of the dune buggy-themed photo shoot. In the interview, he talks about filming Dune, being a good dad and a good husband, working through fear creatively, and gathering the nerve to ask out Lisa Bonet.

-Speaking of Health covers, Normani landed the Women’s Health one.

-Well, this is huge: Wonder Woman 1984 just became the biggest movie to drop on streaming, coming to HBO Max (and theatres where open) on Christmas Day. With all the vaccine news, I’m surprised Warner Bros didn’t just hold it until next summer/fall, but it looks like they’re willing to sacrifice the movie to beef up HBO Max subscribers. Bad news for theatres — and bad news for Canadians. It doesn’t look like we’ll be getting it on streaming by xmas, even though most (but not all) of HBO Max’s programming typically comes here via Crave. But Crave says it won’t stream the film until after its “standard theatrical windows,” which is traditionally 90 days.

-In other HBO Max news, they just greenlit a 4-episode adaptation of the comic series DMZ from Roberto Patino and Ava DuVernay, starring Rosario Dawson and Benjamin Bratt.

-The Fresh Prince reunion just dropped on HBO Max, and everyone’s talking about the intense conversation between Will Smith and Janet Hubert (who played the first Aunt Viv). In this clip, she tells him “Calling a black woman difficult in Hollywood is the kiss of death and its hard enough being a dark-skinned black woman in this business.”

-A Back To The Future writer revealed that Biff Tannen was inspired by Trump. Yeah, that tracks.

-Meanwhile, Michael J. Fox recalled sitting next to Princess Diana at the Back to the Future premiere. “The movie started and I had to go pee. So, I am sitting there in agony. I can’t say anything to her, and I can’t turn my back on her. So the rest of the night was a nightmare, a pee-floating nightmare.”

Hugh Grant considers Paddington 2 to be “kind of a masterpiece,” even if his kids think otherwise.

Demi Lovato’s new look is making me want to chop all of my hair off. Wow!

-The paid Instagram posts from celebrities are out of control recently (I guess it’s the easiest way to make money while stuck at home in a pandemic) but this ad from Sarah Michelle Gellar and Shannen Doherty is very charming — mostly because it’s clear neither of them are great cooks. Did Shannen even bother to cut those potatoes?

-Speaking of paid partnerships, Jennifer Aniston just signed a big one with Vital Proteins. I love this for her. I used to take their collagen peptides for recovery back in the good ol’ days when it was safe to go to the gym.

-I’m thrilled that Kristen Stewart‘s gay holiday romcom is getting strong reviews. I mean, I was watching it regardless, but this is nice.

Others have said it better than I ever could, but this article about the rise of “ambient TV” misses a whole lot of points. Also, Emily In Paris wasn’t even developed for Netflix originally.

-Here’s the first trailer for season 2 of Batwoman, with Javicia Leslie taking over the titular role.

-Here’s the trailer for Music, starring Kate Hudson and co-written and directed by Sia.

Tom Holland and Daisy Ridley’s lost YA movie Chaos Walking finally gets a trailer. The production on this thing was cursed.

Adele Gets Ready for SNL

-Here’s our first look at Adele on SNL. I’m both looking forward to this episode and dreading the conversation about it.

Jennifer Aniston posted a photo of her casting her election ballot early and she had a message for fans: “It’s not funny to vote for Kanye. I don’t know how else to say it. Please be responsible.”

-In a podcast interview, Jennifer Lawrence says it took her a while to get over falling at the Oscars. “I can look back at it now fondly but for a very long time the fall thing was very sensitive. Anderson Cooper, I saw him on CNN three days later saying, ‘Well she obviously faked the fall,’ and it was so devastating because it was this horrific humiliation to me. I don’t know if I’ll ever have a chance to give a speech like that again, so it didn’t feel good for me not to have a speech.”

-She also said her husband doesn’t mind that she kicks him to the guest room when she has “slumber parties, like, once a week” with her friends. In a pandemic tho?

-This year has been rough, but the ladies of pop are determined to get us through it by releasing new music. First came Taylor, then Demi, and now Ariana Grande.  With just 10 days to go before the U.S. election, she’s offering us a vision of what life would be like if she were in charge in her new video for “Positions”.

Miley Cyrus is also getting in on the action, announcing a new album that’ll be released Nov 27.

Joshua Jackson and Jodie Turner-Smith continue to be the best celebrity couple.

Matthew McConaughey talked to Howard Stern about how his mom repeatedly sold him out once he became famous. He’s incredibly forgiving.

-The funniest thing about Robert Downey Jr.‘s post supporting Chris Pratt is that he cropped Tom Holland out of the photo. They’re so close that they have … literally no photos together.

Sacha Baron Cohen appeared on GMA, along with Borat 2 costar Maria Bakalova, and talked about the scene with Rudy Giuliani. “If the president’s lawyer found what he did there appropriate behavior then heaven knows what he’s doing with other female journalists in hotel rooms. I just urge everyone to watch the movie. It is what it is. He did what he did.” He added that he was “quite concerned” for Bakalova during the scene because he was hiding nearby and monitoring the situation via text. “It’s my responsibility as a producer as well to ensure that the lead actor is looked after.”

Christine Baranski plays Scrooge to Dolly Parton‘s angel in the trailer for Netflix’s upcoming holiday musical Christmas on the Square.

-Speaking of Netflix holiday movies, the Dash & Lily trailer is super cute.

-So we’re still pretending that Paul GreengrassNews of the World, starring Tom Hanks, is coming out in theatres at Christmas, huh?

-Meanwhile, there’s lots of whispers about the studio behind James Bond shopping it to streaming sites and the numbers floating around are insane — like 200-600 million dollars insane.

Kaley Cuoco may be a murderer in the trailer for The Flight Attendant, coming to HBO Max and Crave next month.
