Beyonce and Jesse Williams Light Up BET Awards

-I was switching between the BET Awards and the Game of Thrones finale last night, but luckily I happened to catch the two moments from the ceremony that everyone is talking about: Beyonce’s insane opening number with Kendrick Lamar (which was not announced in advance — probably because BET was burned the last time they hyped her appearance and she ended up only showing up via Skype), and Jesse Williams’ amazing speech. (The fact that one of the first thing he acknowledges is the contributions of black women — when has that ever happened before?!) His Tumblr is also great, as is this Twitter story of him previously stepping up without wanting any acknowledgement or publicity.

-Meanwhile, Justin Timberlake hit up Twitter after Jesse‘s speech with some weird tweets that veered dangerously close to #AllLivesMatter territory, so Twitter hits back.

-In Game of Thrones news, here are all the times before last night’s finale when the show tried to tell us who Jon Snow’s parents are.

Taylor Swift and Tom Hiddleston are working overtime to land him Bond show off their love. They were photographed getting cozy at dinner, and then hanging out with his mom — twice!

-So Kanye West dropped an new video on Friday that features a bunch of “naked” celebrities — including Rihanna, Taylor Swift, Bill Cosby, Amber Rose, and Chris Brown. Legally, how is this a thing he can do?!

-In less controversial debuts, Rihanna premiered “Sledgehammer” this weekend.

Blake Lively‘s terrible chopping skills are giving me life.

-Meanwhile, Blake says “there’s a strong chance” there will be a third Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants movie. Huh.

-When Rory Gilmore met Michelle Obama

Diane Kruger gushes about Joshua Jackson in a new interview and now I’m even more confused about the status of their relationship!

Mindy Kaling has a list of very reasonable requirements for her spin instructors.

Matthew McConaughey says he had “a big crush” on Sarah Jessica Parker when he was younger. Sure, but do y’all remember when he called her “peculiar” on Oprah? #NeverForget

50 Cent was arrested in the Caribbean for swearing. Remind me to never go to the Caribbean.

Jenny Slate and Chris Evans attended the The Secret Life Of Pets premiere in NYC together and they look adorable! I mean, I wish he’d dressed up a little but the adorableness is still overshadowing it.

-Last night, John Oliver warned that Brexit vote is a warning call to US voters that “there are no f*cking do-overs” before tackling Olympic doping scandals.

Jesse Eisenberg scolded anti-gay protesters in London.

-Last week’s two new episodes of Comedy Bang Bang were filled with awesome guest stars, from Tegan and Sara doing a Hitchcock homage to Emily Bett Rickards starring in a She’s All That spoof.

Winona Ryder talked  about her relationship with Johnny Depp, saying he was “never abusive at all towards me” when they dated — 23 years ago.

-Meanwhile, Johnny continues to live life to the fullest ’cause why not.

Rami Malek feels a little weird about being your internet boyfriend — but he’s cool with it.

-Mad Men’s Matthew Weiner talks about directing the final episode of Orange Is the New Black’s latest season (don’t read if you’re not caught up!).

-Keanu director Peter Atencio was really unhappy how the film was marketed to kitten lovers. (But the kitten was seriously the best part!)

-Speaking of movies, Independence Day Resurgence is so bad that I walked out of it this weekend. Like, I bolted before the midway mark.

Kate Mara and Paul Giamatti get all Orphan Black-y in the Morgan trailer.

Women Rule on EW’s Game of Thrones Covers

ewcover-maisie-williams-game-of-thrones

-All of the Game of Thrones covers EW is running are great, but I’m going to be super bummed if I don’t get Arya or Brienne in my mailbox tomorrow.

-Despite what everyone was reporting this morning, Jon Lovitz is NOT engaged to 90210 star Jessica Lowndes. It was just a publicity stunt for her new music video. A really creepy publicity stunt.

Hugh Jackman helped his 15-year-old son and another swimmer when they got caught in a riptide, and his son looked at him like “gawd, dad! You’re so embarrassing. Just let me die or whatever…”

-Did Lady Gaga celebrate her 30th bday as a married lady?

-Another teaser for Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt has landed. This show makes me stupid happy.

-Speaking of things that make me stupid happy, here’s another adorable clip from The Wine Show. I love that Matthew Goode and Matthew Rhys seem totally sloshed in all of these…

-This is pretty wonderful: Judd Apatow, Kevin Nealon, Kathy Griffin and more honoured Garry Shandling with a pickup basketball game, which he used to host weekly.

-Arrow’s Emily Bett Rickards and Colton Haynes made a very silly dance routine to Taylor Swift‘s “Shake It Off” which sounds exactly like something my friends and I would do. We just wouldn’t post it to YouTube. Bless them.

Robert De Niro ended up pulling that anti-vaxx doc from the Tribeca Film Festival. I love how @NYTHealth tweetstormed the crap out of it.

Jennifer Lopez is going to be a guest on James Corden’s new Carpool Karaoke show. Here for it.

-I was trying to explain to my coworkers why I didn’t hate Batman V Superman as much as I thought I would, but then I realized that everything I was mentioning was a negative (with the exception of Affleck‘s performance). I also realized pretty quickly that I couldn’t explain any single character’s motivations for anything that they did. Like, what exactly was Lex Luthor’s plan?!

-Even Michael Shannon, who is in Batman V Superman, could not possibly care less about the clash between Batman and Superman.

-Not surprisingly, the film opened huge but the box office is dropping fast. Like history-making fast. Let’s see if it makes it past that rumoured $1B required checkpoint…

Alec Baldwin was the first choice to play Mr Big on SATC? Just….no.

-Another TMNT 2 trailer that kind of makes me want to see it. I don’t understand life.

Ryan Gosling and Russell Crowe ham it up in the Nice Guys trailer.

Adele’s Carpool Karaoke Is Just What We Need Today

Adele’s carpool karaoke is as wonderful as you wanted it to be. Her reaction when James Corden starts harmonizing on “Hello” is priceless. (Everyone forgets he was in Into the Woods and has bonafide pipes.)  Apparently, they shot for two hours and the first edit was 54 minutes. I would watch that whole damn thing.

-Thank god for Adele brightening up this day because it was rough. It started with Alan Rickman‘s tragic passing. Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Matthew Lewis and more penned lovely tributes, but no one punched me in the heart guts like Emma Thompson.  “Alan was my friend…this is hard to write because I have just kissed him goodbye.” Excuse me, I have to go rehydrate because I just cried ALL the tears.

-Also sad, Céline Dion‘s husband René Angélil died after a long battle against cancer.

-And as if today didn’t kick us all in the junk enough, then came the Oscar nominations. I’m glad Spotlight came out swinging since the buzz around that movie had quieted considerably in the last few weeks, but there were some big snubs. No Carol? No Jacob Tremblay? No Creed, Michael B. Jordan, Compton or Idris Elba? No wonder #OscarsSoWhite trended this morning. But hey, Jennifer Lawrence was rewarded with her fourth nomination for a performance in an unworthy film.

-In happier Jacob Tremblay news, this is him being adorable and telling Jimmy Kimmel what it was like to live our dream meet Oscar Isaac.

-I wish it was Grant Gustin‘s birthday every day, because his CW alums are sending him some pretty rad tributes. Colton Haynes reunited Glee’s Warblers, while the iZombie cast did their best Flash impression.

-Speaking of Colton, he and Emily Bett Rickards donned drag for a new photo shoot.

Selena Gomez has explained that photo of her and Brad Pitt at a Golden Globes party.

-Everyone on my Twitter TL is buzzing about One Direction‘s Rainbow Bondage Bear conspiracy. Clearly, I need to follow different people.

-Ruh roh. Steven Avery’s ex-fiancée, Jodi Stachowski, says “he’s not innocent” in a new interview. (My friend interviewed the doc creators yesterday and after he asked the question I asked him to, they cut the interview short. But I need answers, dammit!!)

-Friends “reunion” update: Matthew Perry is not coming.

-Interesting. If the Netflix numbers NBC offered up yesterday at the TCAs are accurate, Jessica Jones is about as big as Quantico.

-Speaking of Netflix, CBS is planning to pull all of the CW shows from the service. Sigh.

Cameron Diaz wrote a new book about aging gracefully. Um, ok.

-Here’s the first clip from Batman v Superman. God, is this movie ever going to NOT feel like homework?
