Paul Mescal Remains the Internet’s Boyfriend

-It feels like I watched Normal People 9 million years ago (it was in May) so I should probably be over my Paul Mescal crush, but this new GQ photo spread just pulled me back in. This is some Chris-Evans-in-Knives-Out levels of sweater perfection.

–Zac Efron‘s girlfriend Vanessa Valladares threw him a star-studded surprise birthday party this weekend. Wait, is the pandemic over and nobody told me?!

–Chris Pratt was trending on Twitter this weekend because most of the Avengers cast is assembling for a Biden fundraiser, and he’s the notable absence.  Who’s still surprised that this guy is most likely a Republican? Did we all forget that Ellen Page called him out for supporting an anti-LGBTQ church?

-It seems like only Canadians appreciated the “BonjourHi” sketch on SNL but Bowen Yang killed it. I also thought this cut sketch about Lovecraft County was also good in that they’re right — that show is impossible to describe.

–Adele is hosting SNL next weekend, and I’m already exhausted by the discourse around her weight loss (and the thought that they might do a sketch about it.)

–Harry Styles got a haircut and fans are all up in their feelings.

–R Kelly‘s lawyers say he was beaten in jail and “no one raised a finger.” Presumably the ones who did the beating did though.

-A judge just ruled that Danny Masterson‘s rape case will go forward in court after the actor’s lawyers tried to get it tossed out.

-Black Panther’s Winston Duke had insomnia and spent the night posting shirtless thirst traps. That’s the kind of middle-of-the-night productivity I appreciate!

–Cardi B deleted her Twitter account following her reconciliation with Offset, saying she’s tired of “a bunch of 15-year-olds telling me how to live my life.” She should probably avoid her Insta comments too then.

-Oh god, Kanye West is going to be on Joe Rogan’s podcast next week. I just can’t with either of them.

-Hahahaha – one of the kids from Home Improvement is getting divorced, and copy and pasted his announcement from Armie Hammer. Of all the ones out there to crib, you choose that one?!?

-Speaking of Hammer, his Rebecca costar Lily James is pulling out of interviews after those photos of her and Dominic West surfaced — reportedly because some of the bigger outlets are insisting she address it. I was actually surprised that she was still doing them last week (though not surprised by how awkward she was).

-I really, really liked Olivia Dade‘s new book and this interview on fat representation makes me like it even more.

-I haven’t watched The Trial of the Chicago 7, but there’s a ton of supercuts floating around of dialogue being directly lifted from Aaron Sorkin’s past projects. He remains the master at recycling old bits.

-Sony is denying rumors that originated from a sketchy fan site about Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire joining the cast of Spider-Man 3.

-I really liked this article on Bryan Fuller, shipping and fandom’s purity culture.

-CBS All Access just dropped a new trailer for The Stand. I couldn’t imagine another mini-series I’d want to watch less in the middle of a pandemic.

–Kurt Russell’s Hot Santa is back to save Christmas in the trailer for The Christmas Chronicles 2.

-The trailer for All My Life is here and I’m definitely down to watch Harry Shum Jr as the lead in a romantic drama.

The Tenet Promo Train Chugs On

-Promo for Tenet is continuing as if the movie will still open next month, with John David Washington, Robert Pattinson, and Elizabeth Debicki interviewed by EW. (From the photos I assumed they were nowhere near each other during the cover shoot but the video suggests otherwise.)

–Matthew McConaughey and Camila Alves opened up about their philanthropic work to help students in need in the new issue of Town & Country.

-Lots of baby news today: Michelle Williams and Thomas Kail have welcomed their first child together.

–Kristen Wiig and fiancé Avi Rothman welcomed twins via surrogate earlier this year.

-In other happy news, Raven-Symone married Miranda Maday in a surprise ceremony today.

-I didn’t think it would happen but here we are: Danny Masterson of That ’70s Show and The Ranch has been charged with raping three women at his home between 2001 and 2003. He is maintaining his innocence. Leah Remini, who put a spotlight on the accusations by interviewing the women on her show last summer, reacted on Twitter, saying “This is just the beginning Scientology, your days of getting away with it is coming to an end!”

–Jennifer Lawrence joined Twitter to issue a statement about the death of Breonna Taylor.

–Lonnie Chavis, one of the child stars of This Is Us, has written an essay in People about the experience of growing up Black.

–Angelina Jolie penned an emotional piece about the refugee crisis for Time.

-Glad to see I’m not the only one who think the CW’s new blocking trolls policy is too little, too late. I noticed the Candice Patton hate from trolls since the second she was cast, and I didn’t even follow The Flash fandom. I was more tuned into Arrow’s and saw replies to the official accounts that were absolutely brutal to Emily Bett Rickards. It also extends to how CW actress’ roles are written.

-Ah poop. Racist tweets from Megan Amram have surfaced. She apologized but jeez that’s a bad look.

-Sopranos star James Gandolfini once said he was ready to “beat the f**k out” of Harvey Weinstein. Of only.

–Fiona Apple is donating all proceeds from TV and movie placements for two songs from her new album to charity for the next two years. Royalties from “Shameika” will go to the Harlem Children’s Zone, while the “Heavy Balloons” proceeds will go to Seeding Sovereignty. Showrunners and music supervisors should stick these songs in everywhere. I don’t want to turn on a TV show or watch a movie trailer without hearing “Shameika said I had potential!”

-A spinoff of Daria has just been ordered, which makes my Gen X heart happy.

–Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly appear to be going strong – they’re now Instagram official.

–Lady Gaga was out shopping with her boyfriend and didn’t want to pose with a fan for a photo (understandable) so she gave the fan her leather jacket off her back instead.

–Denis Villeneuve’s Dune is heading to Hungary for reshoots.

–Bryce Dallas Howard makes her feature directorial debut with her new Apple+ documentary, Dads, which features Will Smith, Jimmy Kimmel, Jimmy Fallon, Neil Patrick Harris, Judd Apatow and more.

Uma Thurman Gears Up To Make Her Move

-Holy moly, Uma Thurman‘s Thanksgiving message is intense! “Happy Thanksgiving Everyone! (Except you Harvey, and all your wicked conspirators – I’m glad it’s going slowly – you don’t deserve a bullet) -stay tuned”. She also just dumped her agency. It’s coming, y’all!

–Beyonce announced that she’s launching holiday merch and it’s a true Thanksgiving miracle!

–Jimmy Fallon covered Prince during the Macy’s parade and Twitter was not kind.

-I’m really down with this trend of rappers interrupting their concerts to protect women or give them inspirational speeches. Check out this pep talk by Jay-Z to a 9-year-old fan.

-Speaking of Jay-Z, Mariah Carey will reportedly be managed by his Roc Nation.

-Are we getting a royal engagement announcement soon? Like, really, really soon??

-Netflix is getting flak for moving quickly to remove Kevin Spacey, but dragging their feet on Danny Masterson, who has been accused of rape by four women. Not helping matters, the actor’s longtime publicist told an alleged victim that a woman cannot be raped by a man she’s dating.

–Ryan Phillippe is suing model Elsie Hewitt over allegations he physically assaulted her.

–Kate Beckinsale is reportedly “hanging out again” with the 22-year-old. Get it, girl.

–Denzel Washington is very confused by the news that Drake has a tattoo of his face.

-SNL’s Colin Jost helped Scarlett Johansson ring in her 33rd birthday.

–More women are coming forward to accuse Jeremy Piven of sexual harassment.

-I really, really want to believe Reese Witherspoon when she says: “I’m determined to create more opportunity for other women and people of color. To help them tell their stories. To encourage CEOs to take chances on high-level female executives and champion new female voices on film.”

-Here’s the trailer for NBC’s new drama, Rise. I’m cautiously hopeful about this one. Jason Katims rarely makes a misstep.
