–Anne Hathaway might be missing out on a Locked Down premiere, but she’s not skipping the red carpet. She ate this photoshoot.

-Also, she says we’ve all been calling her the wrong name. “Call me Annie. Everybody, everybody, call me Annie. Please…The only person who ever calls me Anne is my mother, and she only does it when she’s really mad at me, like really mad. So every time I step out in public and someone calls my name, I think they’re going to yell at me.”

-Here we go. Page Six published an interview with Armie Hammer’s ex-girlfriend Courtney Vucekovich, who attests to him making cannibalism comments, but levels even more disturbing accusations of emotional abuse. “He quickly grooms you in the relationship. He kind of captivates you and while being charming, he’s grooming you for these things that are darker and heavier and consuming. When I say consuming, I mean mentally, physically, emotionally, financially, just everything.”

-I’d love to know the “much-loved actor” who trash talked him to an interviewer.

-It’s wild that there a screengrabs of Mary-Kate Olsen‘s Zoom divorce proceedings floating around. And they were authorized!

-I guess those Deux Moi blinds about an A-list singer trying to be a movie star make sense now. Cardi B just landed her very first leading role in a film, Paramount’s upcoming comedy Assisted Living.

-Wondering why Brie Larson is trending? When asked how she spent recess when she was 10, she responded “10 years old? I’d probably be on the computer at the library researching ‘how do I know if I’m gay?'”

–Lori Harvey and Michael B Jordan posting their cute snowball fight on Instagram kinda feels like rubbing it in, no?

–Bella Thorne commented on Florence Pugh‘s Instagram video and fans started dragging her, and Pugh was not having it.

–Chris Evans is reportedly in talks with Marvel Studios to reprise his role as Captain America in the MCU. So nothing is ever allowed to end and no characters are ever allowed to die? Got it.

-Musician Ariel Pink sounds like a swell guy. The week after he attended the insurrection at the Capitol, court documents are revealing that he’s being accused of sexual misconduct and physical abuse.

-Warner Bros spent the holidays trying to placate their top talent after abruptly announcing that all their 2021 movies would be streaming on HBO Max. Denzel Washington is said to be getting his $20 million plus backend fee  for The Little Things, while talent making less than $4 million will be paid an additional 25% upon the release of the film as an advance against box office bonuses.

–Katherine Heigl and Sarah Chalke play longtime friends  in the trailer for Netflix’s  upcoming series Firefly Lane.

-The trailer for I Care A Lot has arrived. I saw this at TIFF and my immediate reaction wasn’t overwhelmingly positive because everyone – EVERYONE – in this movie is terrible and there’s no one to root for. But as soon as I leaned into it, it was pretty great. Also, no one has ever looked cooler vaping as Rosamund Pike does in this. It’s on Netflix in the US, but comes to Prime on Feb 19 in Canada.

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West Getting Divorced, Says Page Six

-Welp. According to Page Six, it’s splitsville for Kim Kardashian and Kanye West. If true, I wonder why they didn’t try to slide this news under the cover of holiday madness last week?

–Emma Stone confirmed what we’ve known for months: she’s expecting her first child.

-I didn’t even know there was a rumour about Zoë Kravitz dating Channing Tatum, but they’re already denying it.

-The Alexander Wang assault allegations don’t seem to be going away, despite his vehement denial and the near-total silence from the fashion industry.

-The Grammy Awards will no longer be held this month and have been postponed as COVID-19 cases surge in Los Angeles. Organizers are hoping to hold it in March, but that seems wildly optimistic.

–Arnold Schwarzenegger accidentally referred to son-in-law Chris Pratt as Chris Evans on Instagram, which is a belated xmas gift to all of us.

-In a new interview, Patty Jenkins details her “internal war” with Warner Bros. over the first Wonder Woman movie. “Everybody in the industry wanted to hire me. But I felt like they wanted to hire me like a beard; they wanted me to walk around on set being a woman director, but it was their story and their vision.”

-Meanwhile, this is a very good piece on how the second Wonder Woman is supposed to be for women, but still isn’t about women.

-The Bean Dad apologized. It’s not bad, in spite of the “let themselves be triggered” nonsense.

–Meghan McCain returned to The View after her mat leave, and Joy Behar did not mince words about her feelings on the return. “I did not miss you. Zero.”

-Following a day of conflicting information about the status of her health, actress Tanya Roberts has died at the age of 65. She passed away last night at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in LA.

-This Is Us’ producers are blaming covid for a scene in which a teen took a pregnancy test with what was clearly an ovulation test.

–Steven Soderbergh released his annual list of every piece of pop culture he consumed in 2020, and once again I feel like a luddite.

-Mr. Bean star Rowan Atkinson was trending earlier because he weighed in on “cancel culture” in a new interview, saying “It’s important that we’re exposed to a wide spectrum of opinion, but what we have now is the digital equivalent of the medieval mob roaming the streets looking for someone to burn.” I’m raising my eyebrows more about the part where he talks about “the weight of responsibility” of playing Mr Bean.

–Cardi B defended turning off “WAP” when her 2-year-old daughter enters the room. “I’m not [JoJo Siwa]! I don’t make music for kids I make music for adults.”

–Maria Bakalova, the Bulgarian star of Borat 2, says she’s kept in touch with the film’s 62-year-old babysitter. “Jeanise is a true angel. I will probably always think of her as my godmother, a real hero and life coach. We had a real human connection from the very first day we met. I called her on Thanksgiving. It was my first American Thanksgiving and was also my best. I was so happy to talk to her that I started to cry. When we were shooting, it was very hard for me, because I wanted to tell her not to worry about me.”

-Rumour has it that Jodie Whittaker will be leaving Doctor Who soon.

-The Dexter revival has tapped Clancy Brown as its big bad. I just saw him in Promising Young Woman (which we all must watch and talk about because I can’t stop thinking about it.)

–Jared Padalecki in Men’s Health is, um, surprising.

–Anne Hathaway and Chiwetel Ejiofor star in Locked Down, the first romantic comedy set during the pandemic — and it looks surprisingly good? Instead of the endless Zoom calls that have plagued most quar projects, these guys are planning a diamond heist. And good news for Canadians: it drops on Crave the same day it arrives on HBO Max – next Thursday.

Rihanna’s Sneaky Sephora Set Up

-In a new ad for Fenty Skin, Rihanna sneaks into a Sephora to set up the display herself. God, I already know I’m gonna buy so much of this stuff…

–Ali Larter has responded to former costar Leonard Roberts‘ essay about her poor treatment of him on the Heroes set with a half-ass apology: “I am heartbroken reading his perception of our relationship, which absolutely doesn’t match my memory nor experience on the show…I am truly sorry for any role I may have played in his painful experience during that time and I wish him and his family the very best.” So basically, she doesn’t remember it but oopsie if she offended.

-I’m surprised big names keep signing on to Facebook Watch shows, which have negative zero buzz. Cardi B is going to star in a new series called Cardi Tries ____, in which she becomes a ballet dancer, stunt driver, and firefighter.

-Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner is sick of anti-maskers: “If I can wear a mask while I give birth, you can wear a mask at Walmart.”

–Leah Remini has no time for people who are praising Tom Cruise’s on-set rant, reminding everyone that his ties to Scientology disqualify him from preaching safety. “Tom does not care about the families of his crew; this is all for publicity. Tom does not believe in family values. I mean, how anyone is falling for this is just mind-blowing.”

-Everyone’s digging the 2020 “love it, couldn’t wear it” fashion dog, including Sofia Vergara.

–Diane Kruger covers Vogue Greece and talks about being scary skinny in her modeling days.

–Kaley Cuoco says “they’re hoping” The Flight Attendant comes back for a second season — which kind of bums me out seeing as how well they just wrapped up the first season.

-Oof. David E Kelly’s response to criticism on how his new ABC Big Sky erases indigenous women is not great.

-I’m so confused about why Nancy Meyers‘ daughter got offended by the retrospective Vulture has been running on her mother’s movies this week. I’m equally confused by all the famous women who seem to agree with her. It’s not sexiest to praise the specificity of her mom’s work. I liked this take: “Costume design is an art and Nancy’s masterful use of clothing should be celebrated, not ignored.”

-The trailer for Walker, starring Jared Padalecki, actually looks ok?

–Tina Fey says she thought she heard a man calling for help in the Hudson River, so she called the police. It turned out it was a guy who flipped a kayak in the Hudson and was floating north with no oar.

–Rachael Leigh Cook, the star of 1999’s She’s All That, will reprise her role as Lainey Boggs — playing the mother of TikTok star Addison Rae‘s character in the gender-swapped remake. God, that makes me feel old.

–Frances McDormand starring in a Sarah Polley-directed film sounds like a dream.

-I very much agree with Lin-Manuel Miranda’s take here: “When theater comes back it’s going to be in conversation with technology in an entirely different way. I don’t think we go back to a world where a show premieres on Broadway, and then no one can see it unless they have $200.”

-My god, one of the Hanson brothers now has seven kids.

-It looks like Adele is recording new music. Huzzah!

-Marvel has released yet another WandaVision promo, including a shot of Wanda and Vision with two children, leading fans to speculate that they’ll have twin boys like in the comic.

-Netflix has dropped the first trailer for Shadow And Bone, their adaptation of the wildly successful YA novel.

–Justin Timberlake connects with abandoned young boy in the Palmer trailer. This was the movie that he was filming when he was spotted getting too cozy with his costar which, judging by the trailer, is the most interesting thing about it.
