The Black Panther Cast’s Sexy Love Triangle

-The Black Panther cast made a sexy partner-swapping video last night and I’m dead. It killed me.

Chrissy Metz denied calling Alison Brie “a b*tch” into her microphone on the Golden Globes red carpet. It very well could have been “babe” like the cohost insists — the audio cuts off pretty abruptly after “she’s such a b-.” Brie posted a pic of them together with the caption “Nothing but love for @chrissymetz! Rumors can’t keep us down!”

Pete Davidson and Kate Beckinsale were spotted chatting at a Golden Globe after party, so of course everyone’s is assuming they’re a thing now.

-In case you didn’t hear it during the broadcast, here’s Emma Stone yelling “I’m sorry!” after the joke about Aloha.

-I don’t know what was weirder — that critically reviled films Green Book and Bohemian Rhapsody took home the biggest awards (it would have made slightly more sense if Green Book won best drama and Bohemian Rhapsody won best comedy/musical), or that Bohemian Rhapsody’s credited director Bryan Singer wasn’t mentioned even once in the acceptance speeches. I guess they’ve decided their best path to Oscar glory is to pretend the film isn’t associated with an accused rapist?

Rami Malek fanboying over The Americans is a mood. He was also v. cute when he introduced himself to Lady Gaga, who I’m pretty sure had no idea who he was but seemed pretty polite about it.

-I wonder if Giuliana Rancic‘s awkward red carpet interview with Debra Messing was in retaliation for last year’s equally awkward red carpet interview?

-My favourite thing about last night’s Golden Globes was watching people discover the joy that is Olivia Colman. The first thing I ever saw her in was Tyrannosaur, which I still think about 8 years later. Also, her delivery of the line “With respect sir, move away from me now or I will piss in a cup and throw it at you” remains one of the best thing to ever exist.

-ICYMI, here’s our Golden Globes fashion recap.

-I love that critics are loving Sex Education, Netflix’s new British teen comedy starring Gillian Anderson that drops next week.

-Today in court, Kevin Spacey pleaded not guilty to groping a man in a Nantucket restaurant. The judge ordered the actor to stay away from the accuser.

Lena Dunham and her former producing partner Jenni Konner reportedly aren’t on speaking terms, possibly because of Konner’s continued support of Girls writer Murray Miller, who allegedly raped Aurora Perrineau. I rarely say this, but good on Dunham.

Melissa Joan Hart is denying making anti-Semitic comments on a podcast.

-Oh god. R. Kelly created a Facebook page in which he started targeting his accusers one by one. Luckily the page was shut down. Can he just go to jail already?

HBO’s latest sizzle reel features new Game of Thrones footage — including Sansa telling Daenerys through gritted teeth “Winterfell is yours, your grace” as Jon Snow, Jorah and Brienne look on.

Constance Wu Covers Fashion

Constance Wu Fashion

-Is there anything better than seeing Constance Wu on magazine covers? She graces the latest issue of Fashion, in which she talks about feeling an obligated to represent Asians in Hollywood.

-Speaking of great covers, Glow’s Alison Brie looks 80s glam on Cosmopolitan Italia’s August Issue.

Tiffany Haddish tackled Vogue’s 73 Questions, and the results are hilarious.

-It a wide-ranging podcast interview, Evangeline Lilly got very candid about her struggles on Lost, talking about uncomfortable nude scenes (“In season 3, I’d had a bad experience on set with being basically cornered into doing a scene partially naked, and I felt had no choice in the matter. And I was mortified and I was trembling when it finished. I was crying my eyes out and I had to go on do a very formidable, very strong scene thereafter”) and how she hated that her character became little more than a love interest (“I did throw scripts across rooms when I read them because I would get very frustrated by the diminishing amount of her own story that there was to play”).

Kanye West, Mariah Carey and Christina Aguilera pose with their kids in Harper’s Bazaar September issue.

-This was pretty much my trajectory with HBO’s Succession, too: I thought it was super boring at first but stuck with it because critics I respect said it gets better, and now I’m hooked.

-This oral history of Breaking Bad’s “Ozymandias” (featuring all the major players) is a joy to read.

Ben Affleck and Matt Damon are reuniting for a movie about the ex-cop who reportedly rigged McDonald’s Monopoly game to win $24 million.

-At the TCAs today, Fox announced not one, but two 24 spinoffs: a prequel about origins of Jack Bauer and one set in the legal world with the clock ticking down 24 hours until a prisoner’s execution. They also teased the likely return of Prison Break.

-Fox also announced that Justin Timberlake and Dax Shepard will team up to produce the game show Spin the Wheel, which will offer what the network says will be one of the biggest prizes in primetime history: a chance to take home more than $20 million in cash per episode.

-Backstreet Boys’ Nick Carter alleged rape case is now under review by the District Attorney.

-According to court docs, Johnny Depp once accused his ex Amber Heard of punching him in the face while he was lying in bed reading.

-A new wave of unkempt, unruly fashion dudes is on the rise. Oh goodie.

Anthony Bourdain‘s Parts Unknown will receive a final season on CNN.

-Moonlight director Barry Jenkins dropped the trailer for his follow up film, If Beale Street Could Talk.

[Note: I’m off for a few days. Will be back to blogging mid-next week!]

-The trailer for Netflix’s Nappily Ever After looks great (though I can’t see Sanaa Lathan without thinking of her biting Beyonce.)

Alison Brie Glows in Marie Claire

-Are you watching Glow on Netflix? It’s great. I was complaining last week that I needed something fun and light and not Handmaid’s Tale-y, and along came this perfect little show. Community’s Alison Brie is wonderful (and almost unrecognizable) as the lead female wrestler. I really loved this Marie Claire profile on her.  (Articles that start with the writer puking in front of the star are always good.)

-Game of Thrones’ Emilia Clarke says being a woman in Hollywood is like “dealing with racism.” Oh sweetie, no. (Also, who’s going to break the news to her than some people experience both at the same time?!)

-Netflix just announced a surprise Christmas special for the recently cancelled Sense8. Between this and Timeless’ renewal, we can no longer pretend that Twitter fan petitions don’t matter.

John Mayer doesn’t want to talk about having sex with Katy Perry. What a coincidence! We don’t want to hear about it!

-Is any famous person less qualified to launch a GOOP-style lifestyle site than Lindsay Lohan?

-God bless Gillian Anderson for speaking up on the lack of women behind the scenes on The X Files. In the wake of the news that the new season will be written entirely by men, she tweeted “And 2 out of 207 eps directed by women. I too look forward to the day when the numbers are different. #TheFutureisFemale”

Pharrell Williams, father of triplets, refuses to change diapers. He sounds swell.

-Here’s the first trailer for Marvel’s Inhumans. Those are some intense struggle wigs, guys.

Corinne Olympios says her team’s Bachelor In Paradise investigation is done, but she won’t return to the show. The show has reportedly installed a limit of two drinks per hour, and before any couple can have sex on the show, they must approach a producer and each verbally consent beforehand.

-Spider-Man: Homecoming had its premiere last night and the early reviews are pretty positive.

-Ohhh…a trailer for season two of Insecure!

-The Notorious B.I.G.’s estate threatened Kendall and Kylie Jenner with a lawsuit if they don’t put a stop to selling shirts with the legendary rapper’s image. Kendall took to Twitter to apologize.

-I really like this review of Netflix’s Gypsy and how it talks about the growing problem of “well-made bad TV.” I think it started with House of Cards.

Leighton Meester and Adam Brody say they never mention the fact that Seth Cohen and Blair Waldorf got married. So like, what do they talk about?!

Millie Bobbie Brown, Ashton Sanders, Paris Jackson and other hot young things show up in The XX’s new music video.

-I don’t know how I missed this Amy Poehler speech from a few weeks ago but I’m glad I saw it now.

-Meanwhile, this video with Amy and Will Ferrell made me giggle.

-All the celebrity #Ham4All tweets are killing me. My faves (so far) are Kristen Bell, Colin Donnell, Ben Schwartz, and Jonathan Groff.

-Watch Andrew Garfield and The Crown’s Claire Foy fall in love in the Breathe trailer.

-The new Jumanji trailer, starring The Rock, Kevin Hart, Jack Black, and Karen Gillan, is way more Breakfast Club than I was expecting.
