Chris Evans Decks His Dog in Knives Out Sweater

Chris Evans’ Christmas tweet won the internet this week.

-Actress Janina Gavankar says she took Prince Harry and Meghan Markle‘s adorable holiday photo — and slammed the Daily Mail for photoshopping it.

Drake went on a podcast and didn’t hold back. He talked about why he waited so long to confirm the existence of his son (“To be honest with you, I did a DNA test for my son and it came back to us and it said the DNA test got ruined in transit and they couldn’t be 100 percent sure that that was my son or not. I was in a really weird pending situation where I didn’t want to go tell the world that that was my son and it wasn’t”), and says he had a “moment of hesitation” about collaborating with Chris Brown because he didn’t want Rihanna to “feel disrespected.”

-He also dropped a new single on Christmas Eve.

Rachel Bilson and Bill Hader were spotted spending the holidays together — and I kind of love it! Surprised that he’s only two years older than her, too.

-Speaking of romantic Christmases, Taylor Swift spent the holidays with Joe Alwyn in England.

-Queen of Christmas Mariah Carey is having a not great holiday week after she was sued by her former nanny, who claims the singer fired her in retaliation for complaining about pay and hours.

Evan Rachel Wood really, really hated Cats. She’s not the only one — it’s only grossed $15 million in its first 6 days, despite costing $90M+.

-I haven’t seen it yet but is this an actual clip from the movie? Because HOLY. SHIT.  (Also, I love reading all the bemused tweets about the film from people who work in vfx.)

-The film was so rushed that director Tom Hopper was still editing it on the afternoon of the premiere — and it shows. The studio is rushing a new cut to theatres, presumably one in which Judi Dench’s human hands/wedding ring aren’t visible.

-Not surprisingly, the studio has pulled the film from awards contention.

-Also, remember the Sony leak when Hopper kept emailing Amy Pascal and she kept making excuses about why he couldn’t direct her movies because she thinks he’s “a staggering asshole.”

Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth finalized their divorce this week.

Kumail Nanjiani‘s trainer talked about the intense workouts/diets he undertook to gain those muscles for his new Marvel movie, and it all sounds miserable.

Jake Gyllenhaal is in John Mulaney‘s new children’s special on Netflix and if this clip is any indication, he gives an awesome unhinged performance.

Kevin Spacey is back at it. He posted yet another bizarre holiday video as his House of Cards character.

-Meanwhile, another Spacey accuser has died of apparent suicide.

-Director Edgar Wright made a Spotify playlist of his 50 favourite songs of the year and it’s pretty great.

-I will never get tired of watching Oscar Isaac using interviews to push for a Finn & Poe romance.

-The showrunner of The Affair, Sarah Treem, wrote an essay to defend her side, but by saying that she worked for years trying to make Ruth Wilson more comfortable on set, she basically admits that Ruth Wilson spent years being uncomfortable on her set.

-I’m surprised people are debating the ending of Little Women. The person in question definitely gets married.

-The cast of The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina seem to have fun together.

-Now Pierce Brosnan is praising Trump? Ugh.

Taffy Brodesser-Akner‘s essay on Luke Perry is a lovely read.

Cardi B showed off her new house on Instagram and it is ginormous.

Matthew McConaughey, Charlie Hunnam, Michelle Dockery and Henry Goldman get criminal in the new trailer for The Gentlemen.

Joshua Jackson and Jodie Turner-Smith Are Married, Expecting

-Well, this is a happy surprise to head into the holidays. Joshua Jackson and Jodie Turner-Smith have not only tied the knot, they are also expecting their first child, according to Us Weekly. I love him so much and she seems equally delightful so yay!

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have confirmed that they’ll be spending the holidays here in Canada. Welcome. Please bring snow.

-My god, how did I miss Mariah Carey‘s Billy on the Street episode from a few days ago? It’s perfection!

-Watch this video of Little Women’s TimothĂ©e Chalamet and Louis Garrel speaking French. For science.

-It’s my favourite day on Twitter: when everyone submits the best TV line of the year. (I’m not sure anything beats “Kneel,” but “For the sake of your poor ol’ dad, keep the door open three inches,” and NoHoHank’s response to Barry’s “Am I evil?” question: “Oh my God! I mean. Absolutely! Do I not tell you that enough? You are like the most evil guy I know, man!”)

-Speaking of Barry, Henry Winkler says he regularly writes fan letters to celebrities. “I think if you see something and it is so incredible, if you see a performance like Sam Rockwell as Fosse, you have to write a letter. If you see Patricia Arquette in Escape at Dannemor, you have to write a letter.”

Kim Kardashian is getting called out for blackface thanks to her new fashion photo shoot.

-TVLine named Unbelievable’s Merritt Wever, Kaitlyn Dever and Toni Collette and the performers of the year and I fully support this. Not only were all three great in the Netflix show, Dever had Booksmart, Wever had Marriage Story and Collette had Knives Out.

-This is a good interview with Star Wars’ Kelly Marie Tran and Naomi Ackie, in which they discuss their own privilege, pay equality, and tarot cards.

-If you’re angry about J.K. Rowling, take comfort in knowing the Buffy’s Anthony Stewart Head once went out of his way to spend the day with a trans fan.

-The trailer for the final season of Schitt’s Creek has landed. It have two weeks to catch up before the new season starts.

-The Flash’s Carlos Valdes and Tom Cavanaugh continue their weirdly delightful holiday musical tradition.

Zach Braff, Charlie Puth, Josh Peck and Christopher Mintz-Plasse joined James Corden for a new boy band classic: Boyz II Menorah.

ZoĂ« Kravitz stars in the first trailer for Hulu’s High Fidelity. Oh yeah, I’ll be watching this.

-CBS released a new trailer for Star Trek: Picard.

-The best thing about the Cats movie is how savage critics are in their reviews. This collection made me laugh.

-Also making me laugh: this ranking of the songs in the movie.

Jennifer Hudson transforms into Aretha Franklin in the trailer for Respect. This should help to get the stink of Cats off her…

-Force Majeure was a brutal, devastatingly funny and gutting examination of a marriage forever changed because of a split-second decision. The American remake, starring Will Ferrell and Julia Louis-Dreyfus, looks…silly?

-Speaking of movies that feel like we’ve already seen better versions of, Amy Adams and Julianne Moore star in the thriller The Woman In The Window.

Sebastian Stan Gives Us An Early Xmas Present

CARTER SMITH/Men’s Health

-I didn’t really get the Sebastian Stan stans until I saw him this fall at TIFF in a movie in which Shailene Woodley‘s character can’t decide between his character or Jamie Dornan‘s so she dates them both (aka – living the dream) and he was adorably swoon-worthy during the Q&A. This Men’s Health photo spread (and the charming interview that accompanies it) is making me like him even more.

Channing Tatum and Jessie J reportedly split up a month ago after dating for a little over a year.

Kim Kardashian posted some photos of inside her house and no one can figure out what is on her walls. Giant sculptural toilet paper rolls? Artistic tampons?

-I love how supportive Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union are with their kids. In a new interview, he says “they born a certain way and you say they gotta be that way but that’s not life, man. I watched my son from day one become into who she now has eventually come into. For me it’s all about nothing changes with my love. Nothing changes with my responsibilities. Only thing I gotta do now is get smarter and educate myself more.”

-In a new lawsuit, Harvey Weinstein is accused of sexually assaulting a model when she was just 16.

John Boyega wore a traditional Nigerian robe designed by his sister to the Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker premiere, so I guess we should forgive him for trashing The Last Jedi.

-Ooh boy, J.K. Rowling continues to be problematic. She tweeted her support of U.K. researcher Maya Forstater — whose contract at her job was not renewed because she tweeted anti-trans sentiments such as “men cannot change into women.”

-Forget those early semi-positive reactions to Cats — the critics have spoken and it’s “a furry orgy in a dumpster.” I am very intrigued that it apparently has “more crotch shots than a Michael Bay movie.” Also, this is my fave tweet about it so far.

-I didn’t watch the Survivor reunion show but apparently Jeff Probst actually acknowledged how much they screwed up this season, so I guess that’s something.

-The Flash star Candice Patton was called out by the wife of baseball star JR Smith for having an affair with her husband, but he took to Instagram to say he’d been separated for months.

-This video of the Olsen twins wishing Ashley Benson a happy birthday is…odd.

-I always forget that Penn Badgley is married to Domino Kirke (Jemima‘s sister).

-The trailer for To All The Boys: P.S. I Still Love You dropped today and man I needed that so bad today.

Will Smith took Tom Holland to a spooky escape room. (“I saved the planet from zombies and aliens a couple of times so you gotta expect this.”)
