Emily Blunt and John Krasinski Reflect On Their Big Year

emily-blunt-john-krasinksi

-I’m not quite sure why the Hollywood Reporter opted to do a joint interview with Emily Blunt and John Krasinski. She’s promoting Mary Poppins and he’s promoting — the second season of his Amazon show that doesn’t yet have a release date? Maybe? Also, out of all the photos, the cover is my least favourite. (How could they not choose the coat one!?!) Still, they’re pretty damn adorable together. She calls him Kras!

-The best part about Cardi B’s Carpool Karaoke segment is that there were no surprise interruptions by Offset (followed by her flirting with senior citizens).

-Aww man, Penny Marshall passed away at 75. Celebs are tweeting their memories and condolences. Time for a rewatch of A League of Their Own!

-Saturday Night Live creator Lorne Michaels is reportedly sending Pete Davidson to get help following his suicide scare over the weekend.

Oprah has jumped on the Black Panther Oscar campaign. I approve!

Sandra Bullock has no interest in Oscar hosting. Can’t say I blame her.

-Meanwhile, Sandra’s outfits on her Bird Box press tour have been lit.

-According to Nielsen, the Roseanne reboot was the most-watched regularly scheduled TV program in 2018, with an average 19.9 million viewers over its run, followed by Sunday Night Football, Big Bang Theory, NCIS and This Is Us. Society is doomed.

Angelina Jolie penned an op-ed in The Economist, urging global leaders to act on the refugee crisis.

-This is a really interesting (and shade-filled!) look at why Divergent — which was supposed to be the next Hunger Games — flamed out so spectacularly.

-Man, everyone on my Twitter feed is obsessed with this Turkish show. OB.SESS.ED.

Lin Manuel-Miranda and Jimmy Fallon performed holiday parodies of the year’s hits and it was very cute.

-There’s no Doctor Who holiday special this year, so they made up for it with this animated short instead.

-This trailer for Scott Foley and Lauren Cohan‘s new ABC series is delightful!

-Netflix ordered more episodes of Sabrina, so I guess that’s a thing now.

Cate Blanchett stars in the Where’d You Go, Bernadette? trailer. I LOVED that book and this cast is very promising.

Jennifer Lopez Is Feeling It

Jennifer Lopez and her Second Act co-star Milo Ventimiglia played “Can You Feel It?” on Fallon. There is not enough money in the world to get me to stick my hand in that box.

-Meanwhile, JLo has been killing it fashion-wise on this press tour.

-Us Weekly claims that Joe Alwyn may be getting ready to propose to Taylor Swift, and Chris Martin may be getting ready to propose to Dakota Johnson. Do they have spies at jewelry stores or something? Oh god, do they?!?

Donald Trump might actually believe that Christian Bale is Bruce Wayne. I buy it.

-I don’t watch Supernatural, but my Twitter feed got very excited by the news that Jeffrey Dean Morgan is returning for its 300th ep. (Also, 300 episodes?! That’s insane.)

-This story is bananas: Josh Henderson (Desperate Housewives, The Arrangement, Dallas) was arrested for burglary charges after his neighbors came home this weekend to find about $7,000 worth of jewelry missing, and claimed that surveillance footage showed the actor and two other men breaking in. His camp says it’s a case of mistaken identity.

Matt Damon gets shafted in a Secret Santa game with Miley Cyrus and Mark Ronson in the new SNL promo.

-Meanwhile, Miley Cyrus says she’s going to star in the new season of Black Mirror. Sure, why not?

Pete Davidson went to dinner with a woman Carbone and someone snapped a photo of it.

-The Screen Actors Guild Awards nominations came out today, which people look very closely at because they tend to be a good indicator for the Oscars. It was good news for Black Panther’s Oscar chances (though Michael B Jordan didn’t get the supporting nod many were hoping would seal the deal), but there were a lot of surprising snubs (First Man, Eighth Grade, Beale Street). The TV side was a mess though — lots of Ozark, but no Keri Russell or The Good Place? Really?!?

-I really liked this interview from the Outlaw King director talking about rushing to edit the movie after its brutal TIFF premiere.

Maroon 5 reportedly can’t find guests to join them at the Super Bowl and I’m laughing forever…

-My biggest takeaway from the CW crossover: Tyler Hoechlin needs his own Superman show. I know the whole thing was supposed to push Ruby Rose as Batwoman, but he was the new face that stole the show. Also, the fact that he was super dreamy to his pregnant costar during filming is icing on the cake!

-Pixa just announced their next movie and it has an insanely good cast.

-Nice! Vice asked Devon Sawa (who starred in Eminem’s Stan video) who he stans.

Idris Elba and Ruth Wilson are promoting Luther’s new season together and I’m ALIVE!

-The second trailer for Sandra Bullock’s Netflix horror Bird Box is here. We’re all going to be afraid to leave our houses after we watch this over the holidays, huh?

Tiffany Haddish Takes To The Streets

Tiffany Haddish and Billy Eichner took to the streets to cast a more inclusive Hocus Pocus. (It’s so funny, despite the unnecessary Kathy Najimy slam.)

-I’ll never question Meghan Markle‘s hair conspiracists again… (That’s not true; I totally will. But they were right about the no waves = pregnant thing, I guess.)

-Also, this is the first outfit I’ve seen her in where she kinda sorta maybe looks pregnant.

-A David Schwimmer doppleganger is wanted by the police, and the internet is having a field day with it. The British police even had to issue a statement confirming that they have ruled out the actor as a suspect in a beer theft case after posting a “wanted” picture of someone who bore a striking resemblance to the Friends star. At least he seems to be having a lot of fun with it, posting his own alibi video.

-Everyone wants to know all about Jennifer Garner’s new boyfriend, a CEO who she’s reportedly been dating for 6 months. He seems very cute in this company video he shot.

Ellen Pompeo says she was “completely shocked” by backlash over her paycheck. Um, really?

-Also, Ellen gave some pretty terrible advice about ovarian cancer screenings, which is not great Bob. If we can’t take medical advice from fake TV doctors, who can we take it from?!

Ariana Grande‘s family is reportedly relieved that her engagement to Pete Davidson fell through, sources told People.

-How can Disney be talking about “rebooting” the Pirates franchise? It’s still an active franchise — they just released one!

-I absolutely agree with this take that Jennifer’s Body would kill if it were released today.

-Timeless fans, expect an air date announcement about the wrap-up movie soon.

-Drake threw a 2000s-themed party for his birthday and I feel old.

-Speaking of feeling old, it’s the 10th anniversary of Twilight. Director Catherine Hardwicke and actor Jackson Rathbone returned to the site where the vampire baseball scene was filmed.

-I really love how critics are getting behind Legends of Tomorrow. It really is a delight.

-Here’s the trailer for season two of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, which recently swept the Emmys despite no one I know watching it.

Sandra Bullock will do whatever it takes for her family to survive in Bird Box, dropping December 21 on Netflix. This looks intense — like The Quiet Place but instead of staying quiet to avoid the creatures, you have to stay blindfolded.
