-The May Beauty issue of Harper’s Bazaar features Precious Lee (photographed by Renell Medrano) and Hailey Bieber (photographed by Amy Troost).

-In case you missed the Oscars last night (and judging by the ratings, many of you did), the biggest clips to watch are Daniel Kaluuya’s mom and sister reacting to the part of his speech where he said “Life’s incredible! My mom met my dad. They had sex. It’s amazing!”, Glenn Close knowing the moves to “Da Butt”, and Yuh-Jung Yoon starting her acceptance speech by addressing her presenter (and Minari producer) Brad Pitt with “Mr. Brad Pitt, finally. Nice to meet you. Where were you when we were filming in person?”

-The weirdest thing about the ceremony (besides it starting strong and then limping to the finish), was that they didn’t announce the Best Picture winner last like usual. Instead, that honour went to Best Actor — who turned out to be Anthony Hopkins, who didn’t show up. The theory is the producers assumed Chadwick Boseman would win posthumously and the show would end on an emotional high, but instead it came to an abrupt and anticlimactic finish that seemed to undercut Nomadland’s historic Best Picture win.

–Hopkins released a belated acceptance speech that tribute to Boseman. Apparently, Olivia Colman was meant to accept Hopkins’ award for Best Actor if he won — and everyone is blaming Joaquin Phoenix for instead saying “we accept the award on his behalf” and shutting it down.

–Another weird decision was to barely show any clips of the nominated films and performances. It felt like the wrong move, especially since most of these films have been barely seen by the general public. I’m sure if they had shown a clip when Sound of Metal won for Best Sound, for example, it would have intrigued people enough to seek it out.

-Fashion-wise, my pick for best dressed was Zendaya, with Regina King coming in a close second. 9-year-old Minari actor Alan Kim also got points for channeling David Rose.

–Aaron Sorkin attended the Oscars with 80s model Paulina Porizkova, sparking dating rumours.

-The Daily Mail has the first photos of Pete Davidson with Bridgerton star Phoebe Dynevor. Looks like they’re bonding over groceries and hideous style.

-The filmmakers behind the Framing Britney Spears documentary have now set their sights on Janet Jackson’s Super Bowl fiasco. Justice for Janet!

-Over 30 former employees at Scott Rudin‘s production company spoke to Vulture and described a workplace of relentless abuse, intimidation, and bullying.

-SNL announced that Elon Musk would be hosting on May 8, and the reaction was immediately negative. Even cast members Bowen Yang and Andrew Dismukes appeared to throw shade at the announcement.

-The finale for The Falcon and the Winter Solider was not great, huh?

-Ellen DeGeneres is mocking the NFT trend by trying to sell a selfie of her holding original artwork of a cat, which she’s calling “Woman With Stick Cat,” but you just know it’ll fetch buckets of money. At least she’s donating it to Chef José Andrés’ World Central Kitchen.

-Here’s the first trailer for Hulu’s Nine Perfect Strangers, adapted from the book by Big Little Lies author Liane Moriarty. It stars Nicole Kidman, Melissa McCarthy, Bobby Cannavale, Manny Jacinto, Regina Hall and Michael Shannon.

-Netflix released the trailer for season three of Master of None, which focuses on Denise (Lena Waithe) and her relationship with Alicia (Naomi Ackie).

-The first trailer for Steven Spielberg’s remake of West Side Story, starring Ansel Elgort as Tony and Rachel Zegler as Maria, has arrived.

Colton Underwood Comes Out

-Devoutly religious former Bachelor star Colton Underwood sat down for a Good Morning America interview to reveal some big news: “I’m gay. And I came to terms with that earlier this year and have been processing it… I’m the happiest and healthiest I’ve ever been in my life.” He’s recently been the subject of public controversy because of a restraining order filed by his ex-girlfriend Cassie Randolph from the series.

-And surprise, surprise — his major announcement/image rehabilitation is already working. There are reports that he’s landed his own Netflix reality show, with Olympian Gus Kenworthy acting “gay guide.”

–Tom Cruise reportedly wants to do a full, global press tour for Top Gun: Maverick. Pandemic? What pandemic?

–Kyra Sedgwick told Drew Barrymore about going to Tom Cruise’s house once and accidentally causing a scene. “There was this like fireplace mantle and I was looking around and there was this little button underneath the mantle. I was like, ‘Oh what is that little button?’ So I pressed the little button because I thought maybe something interesting will happen. Nothing happened and then I got a little nervous. I was like, ‘Oh nothing happened that doesn’t seem right.’ So I tapped Tom on the shoulder, who was in the middle of a story, and I said, ‘I pressed this button down here.’ And he was like, ‘You pressed that button?’ And I was like, ‘Yeah, I pressed that button.’ And he goes, ‘That’s the panic button.’ And so the cops came, they had to stop the screening, they had to see Tom. I think there were more than like five cop cars, it was something…I didn’t get invited back.”

-White Boy Summer is getting off to a rocky start: Chet Hanks‘s ex filed an assault lawsuit against him.

–Taylor Swift confirmed to Stephen Colbert that her song “Hey Stephen” isn’t about him. “No, Stephen, I first recorded that song in 2008. I think I was like 18. And you were 44 years old,” she said, adding: “I’m a big fan.”

-Meanwhile, Taylor released a video for her live performance of “Exile” with Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon from the Long Pond Sessions. God, I love that song.

-Meanwhile, Justin Vernon previewed a new song on his Instagram Live which features Taylor. I love that she’s just part of the Big Red Machine family now.

-There’s talk that Prince Andrew is “demanding” to wear his military uniform at Prince Philip’s funeral.

-This Is Us will only have 16 episodes this season instead of the planned 18 due to coronavirus delays. That means there’s only 3 episodes left this season.

–Julianne Moore, Chloé Sevigny, Indya Moore, Charlotte Gainsbourg and Leo Reilly star in a new short film for Saint Laurent.

–Regina King is having the best award season fashion-wise and I’m bummed we don’t get to see these looks on a red carpet.

-Never Have I Ever is coming back to Netflix, and Common has joined the cast.

–Cardi B is calling out “blue check Republicans” who have stayed silent on Daunte Wright, who was shot and killed by a cop who mistook her gun for a taser, and Caron Nazario, an Army officer who was pepper-sprayed by police.

-I’m surprised by how much the new trailer for The Hills makes me want to watch it.

-The F9: The Fast Saga trailer introduces John Cena‘s Jakob as Dom’s long-long brother.

-NAACP Image Awards took place on Saturday and its at-home fashions made it the best award show yet this year.

–Armie Hammer has been dropped from another film. This one is Billion Dollar Spy, a Cold War drama costarring Mads Mikkelsen.

–Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello were at their home in LA this weekend when someone broke in. The robbers made a quick exit when they realized the couple was home but managed to make off with Mendes’ SUV.

-Speaking of robberies, Beyonce‘s storage units were broken into and $1 million worth of designer goods was lifted.

–Travis Barker and Kourtney Kardashian went on a double date to UFC 260 with Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly — where Barker and Kardashian might have been spotted sucking each other’s fingers?I don’t have it in me right now to watch the videos to confirm.

–Amanda Seyfried has signed on to play Elizabeth Holmes in Hulu’s limited series The Dropout. I’m loving the comeback streak she seems to have going right now…

-The Obi-Wan Kenobi Disney+ series begins production in April, and the series just added Rupert Fiend and Kumail Nanjiani to the cast.

-Miss Scarlet has been renewed for Season 2 at PBS. I found this little show to be so charming.

–Hunter Harris wrote about DeuxMoi and how it’s changed the gossip landscape.

–Kate Middleton wrote a letter to Sarah Everard’s family. A Kensington Palace spokesperson said: “We do not comment on private correspondence” (even though it sort of seems like they were the source?).

–Sharon Osbourne has left The Talk after the controversy involving allegations of misconduct and racist remarks.

-CBS called itself out for referencing Woody Allen in a segment about “cancel culture.”

–Lindsay Lohan released a new single called “Lullaby” as an NFT.

–Russell Crowe might be filming a cameo for Thor: Love And Thunder.

–Lil Nas X continues to crush conservatives on Twitter and I love him.

–Rebecca Hall is grieving her dead husband while battling a strange presence in her house in the first trailer for The Night House.
