The Supernatural Brothers Are Back to Fighting — This Time, Each Other

-Why are CW actors being so messy this week? Jared Padalecki says he’s ‘gutted’ he found out about Jensen Ackles‘ planned Supernatural prequel through Twitter last night. Yikes. I mean, I always assume costars who pretend to be BFFs aren’t really IRL, but Ackles could have texted him. And the CW, where Padalecki is headlining Walker, should also have also given him a heads up. Of course, instead of reacting in front of the whole world, Padalecki could have texted instead. This whole situation is not cool.

–Padalecki posted an update this afternoon, tweeting “Jensen Ackles and I had a great talk, as we do often, and things are good. The show is early in the process with miles to go. We’ve travelled a lot of roads together, and sometimes those damn roads have bumps. Bumps don’t stop us. Once brothers, always brothers.” 

-Surprisingly non-messy CW actor Ian Somerhalder had a lovey fan encounter and shouted out Halifax for her.

–Jodie Turner-Smith tweeted that she nearly missed her flight home from Italy and the airport greeter told her, “I know who is your husband, all of Italy understands why you need to get home to him.” Truth.

-Experts say Britney Spears could remain under conservatorship for years.

-Black creators on TikTok are on indefinite “strike”, refusing to choreograph a dance for Megan Thee Stallion‘s “Thot Shit” on the app because they know white creators are just going to appropriate it without compensation or credit.

-See, this is why I’m weary of all the stories of John Boyega being “difficult”. How come is Twitter account is suddenly unverified? This jerk got kicked off a plane for verbally abusing his wife, and he’s still blue-checkmarked. (I’m still not over it.)

-I’m guessing the bouncer who wouldn’t let Rihanna into the club because she didn’t have ID on her is no longer a bouncer.

–Kanye West is suing Walmart for ripping off his footwear.

-The Gossip Girl reboot has the cast dressed as Beyonce and Solange on the night of the legendary elevator fight. I’m suddenly interested.

-As Conan O’Brien signs off from his TBS show, Vulture asked 12 comedians to talk about his influence. Seth Rogen, Bill Hader, Nicole Byer, D’Arcy Carden, Jimmy Kimmel, Adam Pally and more paid tribute.

-The wait to see Dune just got a bit longer — again. It’s going from an Oct. 1 release to Oct. 22 on HBO Max and in theaters.

–Megan Fox finds herself handcuffed to her dead husband in the trailer for ‘Till Death.

-The trailer for Schmigadoon, in which Cecily Strong and Keegan-Michael Key play a couple who go hiking and end up in a musical, has me excited for its debut.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Turn to Oprah

-It was a long weekend so I missed Meghan Markle‘s pregnancy announcement. The British press didn’t though — and were even more horrible to her than usual.

-Meanwhile, the royal couple are set to do a sit-down interview with Oprah and “nothing is off-limits.”

–Simone Ashley won the coveted role of Kate in season two of Bridgerton. I know nothing about this actress, but that’s the best character in the entire book series so good on her.

-Speaking of the Bridgerton cast, Rege-Jean Page is going to star in Paramount’s Dungeons & Dragons movie with Chris Pine.

–Olivia Wilde made a social media post thanking Harry Styles for taking on a supporting role in a women-led movie, and people are not having it.

–Wilde also spent Valentine’s Day moving stuff out of Jason Sudeikis’ house and into Styles’.

-Awful news for Nicki Minaj: her father has passed away following a hit-and-run.

–Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson is making noises again about running for president. He seems like a swell guy but can we just… not?

-Speaking of Wiig, her new movie is incredibly weird and you definitely have to be in the right mindset for it (or high), but I will watch the bit where Jamie Dornan recreates a cheezy music video over and over and over. This is a very charming interview with him about it, in which he says he can sing “just as much as any douchey actor guy.”

–David Boreanaz has broken his silence and offered public support to Charisma Carpenter.

–Julie Bowen says her Modern Family TV son Nolan Gould gave her an ‘insane’ Happy Gilmore poster. “[Because of it] my kids think Happy Gilmore is a horror movie.”

-Former Bachelorette Rachel Lindsay says it was the ‘right decision‘ for Chris Harrison to step aside temporarily. Others are wondering if it should be forever?

–Claudia Conway auditioned on this weekend’s season premiere of American Idol and the whole thing felt off and manipulative.

-This is an excellent profile on Chloé Zhao, the creator of quiet indie dramas who has suddenly become the most-sought-after director in Hollywood, and an Oscar frontrunner.

-Oof, this is a damning thread on how Justin Timberlake talked about Britney Spears over the years.

-Also in her first interview in over a decade, Spears’ cousin and former assistant Alli Sims claims that Britney’s father Jamie was “100 percent” threatening Alli with her life when he forced her to cut off contact with Britney.

Katherine Heigl Is Done Being Shunned

-This is an interesting interview with Katherine Heigl, in which she talks about how her “difficult” label crushed her career. On one hand, she made some valid points about Knocked Up at the time and the world owes her an apology about the backlash (same with Megan Fox re: her comments about Michael Bay). On the other hand, rumours about her and her mother’s behaviour on set were legendary.  In any case, her 27 Dresses costar James Marsden has her back, saying in the article: “She has very strong convictions and strong opinions on certain things, and she doesn’t back down from letting you know if she feels like she’s been wronged in any way. I’ve always seen that as just strength of character.”

–Machine Gun Kelly is performing on SNL this weekend and Megan Fox joined him on his way to rehearsals — where she was spotted wearing what looks like an engagement ring.

-Whoever is doing Mariah Carey‘s social strategy continues to crush it.

–T.I. and Tiny are denying the rumours that surfaced on social media this week, alleging the couple drugged and assaulted women. They released a statement: “Mr. and Mrs. Harris want to be on record and more importantly want the public to know they emphatically deny in the strongest way possible the egregiously appalling allegations being made against them by Sabrina Peterson. The Harrises have had difficulty with this woman for well over a decade. They are taking this matter very seriously.”

–Amy Schumer still doesn’t really understand how she ended up in the drama involving Hilaria Baldwin.

-The two stars of Pen15 are both pregnant, which should make for an interesting new season.

–Anne Hathaway has joined Jared Leto in a new Apple TV+ series about the spectacular rise and fall of WeWork. Let’s hope he doesn’t welcome her to the cast by sending her a dead rat.

-In today’s Actors on Actors interview, Amanda Seyfried tells Vanessa Kirby: “I wish I could redo ‘Les Miz’ completely, because the whole live singing aspect just — I still have nightmares about it”.

-This is a great tribute to Cicely Tyson, who passed away yesterday. Lenny Kravitz, who was her godson, also posted a lovely tribute.

-Vanity Fair has gotten wind of Jessica Mulroney’s interview the National Post from last week. Unlike most Canadians, they seem unaware of the columnist and her, um, reputation.

-This oral history of the Super Bowl episode of Friends is packed with juicy tidbits! Brooke Shields‘ then-boyfriend Andre Agassi yelled at her after her dinner scene with Matt Leblanc (“I see him come down, pull Brooke aside and eviscerate her because he’s crazy-jealous. She’s reduced to tears! I broke the show for awhile, and the girls took Brooke aside and loved her, took care of her and got her back on that stage. She did great because of the support of those three. He was a jackass”). Matthew Perry flirted over fax with Julia Roberts. (“She was giving him these questionnaires like, “Why should I go out with you?” And everyone in the writers room helped him explain to her why.”) Chris Isaak couldn’t really act (“Such a swell guy. But his scenes with Phoebe? It was like working with a salmon”). Jean-Claude Van Damme showed up hours late and was too aggressive in his kissing scenes (“Having completely blown up our shooting day, we had to scramble. Then he’s unprepared and arrogant!”)

–Tim Robbins has filed for divorce from Gratiela Brancusi — whom no one knew he was married to.

-The Armie Hammer stories continue to be messed up.

-I actually didn’t believe this was Demi Moore in the Fendi show until she posted the clip herself. But she’s since been photographed not looking … like that. Was it just contouring?

-Cyberpunk developers are asking players to please stop having sex with the Keanu Reeves avatar. What’s the point of playing, then?

–Nick Robinson plays the founder of the darknet website Silk Road in a new trailer.
