Keke Palmer is on the new cover of Cosmo, where she talks about going viral with her protest speech, and fighting for a better future.

-The New York mag’s TV issue features another stunning profile b E. Alex Jungthis one on Thandie Newton. He gets her to open up about her abuse at the hands of a director when she was 16 being classified in the press as “an affair,” the time Sony head Amy Pascal tried to get her to do Charlie’s Angels by reeling off stereotypes to her of how to be a more convincing Black character, and what it’s like to work with Tom Cruise: “I was so scared of Tom. He was a very dominant individual. He tries superhard to be a nice person. But the pressure. He takes on a lot. And I think he has this sense that only he can do everything as best as it can be done.”

Lily James and Chris Evans were seen together in London on Saturday night. I have serious questions about his quarantine protocol. Even if he was allowed to be exempt from the 2 week quarantine, and even if she’s in his bubble, should they be going to a club?

Johnny Depp‘s libel trial kicked off today and he’s already accused Amber Heard of assault. This is going to get so, so ugly.

Halle Berry has dropped out of playing a trans character after being called out following an interview in which she discussed the role.  In a statement, she said “As a cisgender woman, I now understand that I should not have considered this role, and that the transgender community should undeniably have the opportunity to tell their own stories.”

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle said the wrongs of the Commonwealth’s colonial past needed to be acknowledged as one way to create a more just world. Said Harry: “When you look across the Commonwealth, there is no way that we can move forward unless we acknowledge the past. So many people have done such an incredible job of acknowledging the past and trying to right those wrongs, but I think we all acknowledge there is so much more still to do. It’s not going to be easy and in some cases it’s not going to be comfortable but it needs to be done, because guess what: Everybody benefits.”

-We’re going to run out of TV. As the shutdown drags on, and as sets remain closed, a drought is upon us.

-Oof. Harper’s Bazaar published an open letter signed by Margaret Atwood, Noam Chomsky, Salman Rushdie, JK Rowling, Bari Weiss, Gloria Steinem, David Brooks, and many others on the value of open debate and the dangers of “cancel culture.” This comes off like a bunch of privileged people with very huge platforms being afraid of losing relevance and/or angry about the unwashed masses calling them out on Twitter. They are not being silenced in any way. JK Rowling continues to spout damaging and terrible terf talk on a platform that’s giving her enormous, unrestricted reach.

Zach Braff spoke on his podcast about Broadway star (and his friend) Nick Cordero’s final moments.

Peter Lenkov, a top CBS showrunner for Hawaii Five-0, MacGyver and Magnum PI, has been fired and had his overall deal terminated following an HR investigation that he created a toxic workplace. “He isn’t racist or sexist or classist singularly — it’s all of it,” an insider told THR. “He’s anti-woman, anti-POC, anti-gay, and everything you’d expect. But he’d also torture straight white men if he felt like it.” This was also the guy that was in a room full of reporters at the TCAs who didn’t remember he had a Latinx writer on staff on Magnum.

-Teens are really broken up about this TikTok cheating scandal and I feel so old.

-This weekend, Hulu’s is dropping the romcom Palm Springs starring Andy Samberg and Cristin Milioti and reviews are great.

-I feel like Tom Hanks holding weekly scoldings of those who don’t adhere basic safety protocols during covid might actually make the world a better place.

Hilary Swank is going to space (and leaving Josh Charles behind) in the trailer for the new Netflix show Away.

Shia Labeouf is intense in the trailer for The Tax Collector. He reportedly got a full chest tattoo for this role, which seems like a regrettable decision.

Gwyneth Paltrow’s International Women’s Day Was Better Than Yours

Gwyneth Paltrow somehow managed to celebrate International Women’s Day and still make women everywhere feel bad about their lives. That takes talent, folks!

Chris Evans and Chris Pratt continue to surprise patients at children’s hospitals because they’re the goddamn best.

-I don’t think I would have survived this Monday without repeat viewings of Ryan Gosling’s dance videos — or his tweet about them.

John Mayer regrets being such a dick to his ex-girlfriends in interviews, saying he’s a “recovering ego addict”  but he’s all cured now so forgives-ies, k?

-Vulture details what it’s like to spend an afternoon with Andrew Keegan, former teen heartthrob turned cult leader. (Spoiler alert: it’s f–king weird.)

-Don’t worry, menfolk! Sony is also making a new Ghostbusters just for you!

Gwendoline Christie (Game of Thrones’ Brienne) walked the runway at Paris Fashion Week like the goddess that she is.

-Speaking of GoT, Tyrion faces his first dragon in the new trailer.

-I really liked reading this oral history on “Love’s Labor Lost” (aka the episode where we all fell in love with ER and then spent the next decade hoping it would reach those heights again until suddenly we looked up and realized the only person left on the show was the ginger who played Bailey’s BFF on Party of Five…)

-This outtake from tomorrow’s Mindy Project with Stephen Colbert is all kinds of funny.

Lena Dunham says she stopped using Twitter and gets her assistant to post for her now because she was getting so many threats: “It became a little too much.” Twitter owns my heart, but I always wonder how famous people (esp women) can deal with the nutters.

-Speaking of online threats, Emma Watson says that’s what motivated her to speak out about feminism. Bless her face.

-I don’t watch Empire but star Jussie Smollett talking about his sexuality on Ellen was pretty damn boss.

-Cinderella’s Lily James would like you to stop discussing her teeny tiny corseted waist. I guess we’ll just have to find something else that defies the laws of nature to gab about…

Sean Penn gives the Sean Penn-iest response to critics of his green card Oscar joke, saying “I’m surprised by the flagrant stupidity. In fact, I have a big f— you for…anybody who is so stupid not to have gotten the irony when you have a country that is so xenophobic.” God, what a charm bomb.

-The Good Wife boss says Alicia and Kalinda are being kept separate on purpose. For, you know, reasons. I’m sure those reasons totally have nothing to do with the actresses.

-Just in case Amal Clooney didn’t already make you feel like an inferior maggot, she’s now going to teach at Columbia Law.

George Clooney and Britt Robertson try to save the world in the new Tomorrowland trailer — using a magical bathtub?

-She may be playing an evil stepmother in the new Cinderella, but Cate Blanchett is embracing her maternal side in real life. She just adopted a daughter with her husband. This is the couple’s fourth child.

-I’m intrigued by the Cinderella remake, but all these stories about Lily James having to wear a corset so tight that she could only digest soup because other food would “get stuck” is really disturbing.  This tweet pretty much sums it up.

-Gotham producers are scrambling since Jada Pinkett Smith unexpectedly announced this morning on Live with Kelly & Michael that she wouldn’t be returning for the next season. Does this mean that she basically told the world she’d be killed off in the season finale?

-I was actually super charmed by Ansel Elgort at TIFF, but this article about why he’s the worst is admittedly hilarious.

Kelly Clarkson insists that when she tweeted about a “pitchy stripper” she was not actually talking about Miley Cyrus. I love her so I’m just going to blindly accept this as truth.

Sarah Silverman regrets that she never got to make out with Jon Hamm. Join the club, lady.

-Is it just me, or is Jennifer Love Hewitt always pregnant?

Taylor Swift posted a ‘I just woke up like this’ selfie complete with eyeliner and lip gloss. Though to be fair, I wouldn’t be surprised if woodland creatures sneak into her room at night to apply makeup while she sleeps.

Emily Bett Rickards is living my dream right now.

-I really like this article about the need for more childless couples on TV. I’m still sore about the Parks and Rec finale.

-Here’s our first look at Lena Dunham on Scandal. Is the scandal going to revolve around who’s making her wear such a terrible wig?

Chris Hemsworth, Hugh Jackman and SNL castmembers Colin Jost, Bobby Moynihan and Kate McKinnon joined Jimmy Fallon for an epic game of Musical Beers last night. In case you aren’t already sold, mullets were involved.

Chris Hemsworth stars in another round of SNL promos. I wish Leslie Jones were as good live as she is in all the pre-taped stuff.

Rihanna just teased two new songs from her album.

-I actually don’t hate the new Supergirl costume. It doesn’t really matter because the fact that it’s on CBS means it’ll probably die a quick death, but still.

Aaron Carter wants Hilary Duff to stop talking about him, which is just adorable!

Nick Hornby revealed what would happen to the characters in High Fidelity if he wrote a sequel. (I recently met him and he gave me a quill. This is what happens when you drink three Old Fashions before striking up conversations with famous people. True story.)

Sir Ben Kingsley wants to use Ryan Reynolds‘ body in the new Selfless trailer. The line forms behind me, buddy!
