Gwyneth Paltrow: Still Not a Medical Expert

-In news that is no way shocking, doctors are urging people to ignore Gwyneth Paltrow’s advice about how to fight covid.

-This is insane: Lady Gaga’s personal dog walker was shot multiple times in LA, and two of her French bulldogs were stolen. She’s offering $500k reward.

-Despite a Daily Mail article and some DeuxMoi chatter, Emma Watson‘s publicist insists she’s not stepping away from acting.

-In their People cover story, Mariska Hargitay recalls being “sad” and “devastated” when Christopher Meloni left Law & Order: SVU.

–John Mulaney is reportedly out of rehab and “doing well.”

–Britney Spears‘ dad is going on the defensive. A little late, but sure.

-I gave a bunch of my girlfriends mask chains for xmas (from a Canadian company), and I’m loving the one Sarah Jessica Parker wears here.

-Reply All’s Test Kitchen will no longer release the remaining episodes of the Bon Appétit-centered miniseries — which is a shame. Clearly, there were storytelling problems, but the POC employees who spoke out deserve to be heard.

-This is an excellent – if awkward – interview with the real-life white female film critic who is assumed to have inspired John David Washington‘s character to get so angry in Malcolm & Marie.

-I watched the Russo Brother’s Cherry starring Tom Holland the other night and … woof. Holland tries his best but it is a long, bleak slog.

-This oral history on the ending of Lost is a great read. Josh Holloway on the church scene: “We also got drunk, I think, while we did it. A little bit, you know, because we’re all celebrating. That was the last scene that we all did together. So we were slipping over to each other’s trailer and having a glass of wine, going back in and doing some more scene. It was great.”

-The documentary Framing Britney Spears is *finally* out in Canada legally this weekend via Crave.

-The Handmaid’s Tale dropped a trailer for its fourth season, which starts April 28. I forgot this show was still around…

Justin Timberlake’s Post-Documentary Apology

–Justin Timberlake has apologized to Britney Spears and Janet Jackson. “I am deeply sorry for the times in my life where my actions contributed to the problem, where I spoke out of turn, or did not speak up for what was right,” he said on Instagram.

-It looks like that documentary didn’t just wring an long-overdue mea culpa out of Timberlake; it may be helping turn the tide  for Britney Spears. A judge ruled against her father in the latest estate court hearing, denying his bid to retain control of delegating her investments.

–Pitbull also has thoughts on the Britney Spears’ situation: “They are not called mistakes they are called “must-takes” and mistakes don’t make you.” Um, ok?

-Holy crap, Donald Glover and Phoebe Waller-Bridge are creating and starring in a Mr. & Mrs. Smith TV series for Amazon Prime. Is that not the most perfect combination of words?!

-The men of the Buffyverse have finally started to show support for their female costars. So far, David Boreanaz has only liked Charisma Carpenter’s posts, but J August Richards, who played Gunn on Angel, tweeted to her “As I said to you yesterday, I am here for you, however you need me,” while James Marsters, who played Spike, tweeted “The Buffy set was not without challenges. I do not support abuse of any kind, and am heartbroken to learn of the experiences of some of the cast.” On a recent podcast, Marsters talked about how Whedon once confronted him because his character was supposed to be a villain and became a fan favourite instead. “I was terrified of Joss…I remember he backed me up against a wall one day and was like ‘I don’t care how popular you are, kid. You’re dead. You hear me? Dead. Dead!’ And I was like ‘Uh, it’s your football, man. Ok.'” (Marsters doesn’t get a total pass, though. He once admitted to writing a creepy song about Michelle Trachtenberg before she turned 18.)

-Speaking of Trachtenberg, her latest statement is the most damning so far. She edited her Instagram comment, saying there was a rule on the Buffy set that Joss Whedon was not allowed in a room alone with her. She starred on Buffy from the ages 14-17.

-This flew under the radar last year, but Buffy’s stunt coordinator and Sarah Michelle Gellar‘s stunt double (now a married couple) accused Whedon of threatening and surveilling them, and trying to manipulate them into breaking up.

–Grant Gustin of The Flash is gonna be a papa.

-I don’t think there’s been a better socially distance press tour than the one for the latest To All The Boys movie. First they had Lana Condor and Noah Centineo do a reaction video to the movie, and now Netflix asked them to write “goodbye” letters to each other.

-Also the new movie, which dropped on Netflix today, is currently 71% fresh.

-Chapelle’s Show’ is returning to Netflix and this time it has Dave Chappelle’s blessing.

-From her ICU bed, Ashley Judd detailed her “harrowing 55 hours” being transported from a Congo rainforest to a South African hospital – which included a 6 hour motorbike ride – after breaking her leg while working to track endangered apes.

-Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins says he was once slapped by Prince Harry. “It pissed me off, actually.”

-I just watched 9 minutes of Brie Larson eating food she made in her air fryer and I have no regrets.

-Insecure might be wrapping up, but Issa Rae is staying in the HBO business. She’s producing a Miami rap group comedy series RAP SH*T, which landed a HBO Max series order.

–Jamie Dornan promoted Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mara with this very cute IG video.

–Gina Carano announced a new movie project with Ben Shapiro’s Daily Wire, which might be the most hilariously fast downgrade ever. She told Deadline, “They can’t cancel us if we don’t let them.” Look, TPTB in Hollywood (not including the on camera talent) are notoriously conservative. She wasn’t fired for being conservative, she was fired because she refused to stop making the Disney/Lucasfilm brand look bad. They’re just responding to market research about what’s going to hurt their bottom line.

–Jessica Rothe, Jack Kilmer and Michael K. Williams make money of people going to rehab in Body Brokers.

Taylor Swift Continues To Be A Content Machine

-Has anyone been more productive during this pandemic than Taylor Swift? She announced this morning that she has re-recorded her entire Fearless album which has 26 songs, including 6 never before released songs from the vault. She’s releasing a new version of Love Story at midnight.

–Meghan Markle scored a big win today. A judge ruled in her favour, saying the Mail On Sunday invaded her privacy by publishing a private letter from her to her father.

–Shia LaBeouf denies “each and every allegation” in FKA twigs‘ domestic abuse lawsuit against him. LaBeouf’s attorneys also requested that she be required to pay his legal costs, because of course they did.

-Vanity Fair’s fascinating new story on the Hillsong church reveal that the scandal is bigger than one fame-obsessed pastor.

-Speaking of new stories, take it with a grain of salt but DeuxMoi is now posting blinds about the LA Times’ story on Armie Hammer being killed because it got too complicated (but that another outlet may be working on something).

-Meanwhile, Page Six claims Hammer allegedly gave Jessica Ciencin Henriquez the big bruise she posted on Instagram during their brief summer romance.

–Emma Caulfield and Clare Kramer are the latest Buffy alums to support Charisma Carpenter‘s statement calling out Joss Whedon‘s on-set abuse. It’s been a day and the male actors who’ve worked with Whedon have remained conspicuously silent. (Some of their reputations may hint at why.)  The only guy who seems to have addressed it so far is Anthony Head, who played Giles. He told a morning show he had no idea and felt like he “let down” his costars: “I have been up most of the night just running through my memories thinking ‘What did I miss?’. This is not a man saying ‘I didn’t see it so it didn’t happen’. I am gutted, I’m seriously gutted because one of my memories, my fondest memory was the fact that it was so empowering.”

-This is a good piece on Ryan Reynolds and his side-hustle prowess.

-Much like everyone calls Anne Hathaway “Annie,” Katherine Heigl says everyone in her life calls her “Katie.” “No one calls me Katherine…It helps me separate my work from me.”

–Rihanna has recognized that we’re all into sweatpants over luxury fashion right now. She and LVMH made the decision to put the ready-to-wear Fenty division on hold.

-In Variety’s latest Directors on Directors interview, Ben Affleck asked David Fincher about why he makes actors go through a “relentless” amount of takes.

-Brooklyn Nine-Nine’s long-delayed new season will be its last.

-Here’s the first look of Jodie Turner-Smith as one of the most famous figures in history, Tudor Queen Anne Boleyn.

-This is an excellent feature on The Shining’s reclusive star Shelley Duvall.

-On today’s earning call, Disney said Black Widow is still intended for a theatrical release, but they’ll be watching “very, very closely” to see if consumer behavior changes.

-Yesterday I asked what it would take for Disney to fire Gina Carano from The Mandalorian. Apparently, it was social media posts comparing the treatment of Republicans to Jews in Nazi Germany. Lucasfilms called her posts “abhorrent and unacceptable” and her talent agency, UTA, also dumped her.

–Morgan Wallen posted a 5-minute video to fans, saying he’s 9 days sober after his N-word outburst.

–Kevin Hart’s personal shopper got a little too personal — he allegedly spent more than $1 million buying himself luxury goods using the star’s credit cards.

–Chris Harrison has apologized for comments he made during a recent interview with former Bachelorette Rachel Lindsay. “I now realize I have done is cause harm by wrongly speaking in a manner that perpetuates racism and for that I am so deeply sorry.”

–Dolly Parton will reunite with her 9-to-5 costars when she guests on Grace and Frankie.

-Vulture says Barb & Star Go to Vista Del Mar is weirdo cinema all the way, filled with non sequiturs, oblique cutaways, and an impressive level of commitment to the bit from its stars. I’m so curious about this one…
